So excited to be booking their maiden voyage this October - Lisbon / Barbados with a chance to attend the Christening in Barbados.  Fingers crossed that the world has had a chance to become somewhat back to normal by then.  Because of the nature of this voyage it's not an expedition adventure but it will be very nice to see what this ship has to offer.  We love Regent and always enjoy small ships but the Navigator, with about 200 passengers will be a brand new experience for us.  Hope that vaccines are in arms by then and we can get back to sea.

Welcome aboard the crossing.  Like you we are crossing our fingers as well.  Tell me more about the Christening?

  2. We pulled the trigger and booked our Rome - Lisbon - Bridgetown back to back cruises next September/October and we're looking forward to meeting everyone on board.

Happy New Year and yes, 2021 will be a better year for all.

    Cheers

  3. We just heard about Atlas Ocean Voyages from our TA a couple of days ago and are getting pricing now.  We're looking at the Rome - Lisbon and Lisbon - Bridgetown back to back next September/October.  Antartica is also on our bucket list.  We're keeping our fingers crossed that cruising will get going again soon.

    Cheers!

  4. I just got an email from our TA forwarding their email from Windstar that our January Wind Surf cruise has canceled and I think our TA St. Maarten - Lisbon in April on the Wind Surf is canceled as well. -  I am writing to you today with disappointing news as COVID-19 continues to impact us all. Due to rising COVID outbreaks around the world, we have made the difficult decision to cancel our cruise departures further out, including your client’s cruise. We are eager to return to sailing when we believe that the environment will support it. We previously canceled all remaining cruises in 2020 and are now canceling cruises for January and February 2021 for all our yachts, and into March and April 2021 depending on the itinerary. Our first yacht to set sail will be the Wind Spirit on March 25, 2021 in Tahiti. We are doing our best to make these decisions in a timely manner out of respect for your client’s calendar and travel plans.

  5. We just got notified via our TA that Windstar just canceled the remaining 2020 cruises.  We were booked on the Star Breeze 6 November Athens - San Juan...  We're opting for the FCC.

We were also booked on the Wind Surf 26 December for four weeks in the Caribbean.  I'm hoping we can just switch our first week (December) and add it to the tail end of the cruise.  I'm waiting on my TA to get back to me.

Have you figured out what you are doing about flights? That's the hard part about this. Risk booking non-refundable early to get a good price or wait until the uncertainty is less? I did notice that United has some flights priced reasonably with "no change fees". I'm going to have to read the fine print to see what that covers, like whether it can be shifted from November 2020 to cover flights for the spring 2021 cruise. I might book with miles.

We haven't booked our flights yet.  But, as of right now American and it's One World partner Iberia has good pricing .  DFW - Madrid - Athens.   Flying San Juan - DFW is easy at cruise end on American.  Yes, it's always good to double check the fine print on the ticket, but most carriers are very forgiving right now to try and get people flying again.   We look forward to meet you on board (hopefully) in Athens.

  7. We booked the Star Breeze, 6 November 2020 from Athens - Rome - Barcelona - Lisbon - San Juan and we can't wait.  Our adult kids (20's) have no problems with us going.  We also booked the Wind Surf, 26 December 2020 for 28 days in the Caribbean and the Wind Surf TA cruise from St. Maarten - Lisbon April 2021.   With Windstar's health protocols and with everyone using their heads and frequently washing your hands, everyone (crew and passengers) will be just fine and have a great trip.  I agree - the planning and anticipation is a lot of fun and yes, we can always cancel.  We're betting a 50/50 chance of our cruise in November.

Wow! that's 37 days. The prices are sure good now.

I just booked but only for the first 7 days - Athens - Rome. I started a roll call for that segment. I hope things clear up enough that that cruise is able to go. My husband isn't ready to plan traveling again then, but there is no solo supplement and he's fine with me going.

Welcome aboard!  We'll hop on the roll call.

  9. We just booked Star Breeze: Athens - Barcelona - Lisbon - San Juan departing 6 November (our fingers crossed) with another couple that we met on the Wind Surf last year.  We so look forward to it and to hear everyones stories  (fellow passengers/crew) as well.

With Windstar I've always found upgrades to be like a strike of lightning out of a brilliant blue sky. Never expected but rather random,  but when they come I do a little happy dance!

I didn't expect lightning to strike this fast...  We booked the newly renovated/stretched Star Breeze from Barcelona - Lisbon - San Juan, 23 nights TA voyage departing 20 November last Friday.  We went from category SP on the 3rd deck and today we got the news that we are now on the 5th deck category S2.

Yes, we're going our lil Happy Dance!!!

  11. You will love the TA cruises.  We took the Wind Surf across the pond and back last year and loved it.  We were booked on the St. Maarten - Barcelona sailing this last April...  But, we will be back!  We've met several couples last year that were scheduled to be on our last April cruise as well.  We're all keeping in touch when she sails again across the pond (most likely next April).  We're also looking at her cruises in January/February, since we can't wait to sail again!
