  1. As for getting the best deal, when I called Royal Caribbean to make the final payment on my next cruise, they gave me the bogoho without my asking. -- I hadn't realized it could be applied. Saved me about $400. :D

I like handling these things myself. But I have never used a travel agent who didn't cost me more money by delaying, purchasing the wrong thing, or just not being there when I needed them. YMMV.

  2. Thanks for your replies. I guess this leads me to ask, if you have the classic package from the promotion, can you upgrade it to Premium for the difference in prices? Are there ever any specials that would make it cheaper?

We are Select tier based on our C&A status, I think, if that helps.

  3. We just booked our first Celebrity Cruise. We have been on Royal Caribbean many times, and are curious about some of the differences and similarities.

If you have a classic package, can you just pay the difference for out of package drinks?

Are there other options for lunch on embarkation day besides the buffet?

What time are Florida boardings, usually?

Is the bar service in the dining room good?

Is there bar waiter service in the Solarium?

    Thanks.

  4. Here we go:

Entire night club is going bye-bye.

Deck 3 will be filled with passenger cabins.

Deck 4 will become Sabor. I know that many of you are hoping for that, so your wishes are coming true.

Deck 12 will get the same new cabins as on Navigator

The Cupcake Cupboard, although "new" to Freedom (original on Liberty and Independence, but not on Freedom; added later), is going bye-bye. Probably more retail space. No specific word on that. My guess? A Coach store. ;)

Izumi is going somewhere in the Windjammer area.

Portofino will be re-purposed as Giovanni's Table.

Royal Caribbean is considering doing away with Formal Nights, and/or having a separate dining room/area for people who want to dress formally.

    Did I forget anything?

Still have to investigate the gym and the CD more. ;)

So where are people supposed to go dancing if they are getting rid of the nightclub? I can't say I am fond of this idea. That's one of my favourite spaces at sea. :(

Is this going to be another case of increasing the number of passengers whilst simultaneously decreasing public spaces?

Any word on where we can let Royal Caribbean know our opinion on formal nights?

    Thanks for the updates!
