And don't sweat the small change. Duty on anything over the limit is usually only a buck or two. Have a list of prices from your local area with you to compare and make informed decisions on buying. The Carib is not quite the bargain it used to be but you can still find items not available Stateside.

Good point. I have a few in mind that I want to compare. So I will jot down current prices.

Heading to the Caribbean next week on the Gem. Can anyone tell me how many bottles I can bring back tax free?

Also does anyone know out of these ports which one has best prices?

Watch and see where the crew goes when they get off the ship. Usually there's a shop or cafe in the port area that offers free internet access...you'll be able to tell by the crew clustered around tapping on their phones.

 

Otherwise, most shops and cafes in the ports will advertise their internet access...all you have to do is buy a drink or a meal.

 

Finally, many U.S. cell phone carriers offer packages that can include data in many of the Caribbean islands. Check with your carrier.

Do most ports in Caribbean islands have WiFi access?

Looks like it is a hit or miss. And i like the comments of "Your on vacation, no rush". Because that is true, I will Chill with a drink to start and try and sample a little bit of everything. Thank you for all your replys.

I was on Gem a few years ago, and I remember the speed of service here was terrible, even when we were the only ones there. I was hoping it was an isolated issue because I loved going there for a quick drink or snack, but I keep reading reviews and seems like same issue fleetwide. Anyone have good reviews for o Sheehan’s? I was hoping to make this my go to when getting the munchies.

I would love to see dailies as well for the 11 night cruise!!

I was Just thinking about it,honestly not looking too deep into it, but I really was more curious as to Who took advantage of the UBP free perk?

It seems like everyone pretty much takes advantage of it, So if I am reading it correctly, there is no incentive for the bartenders because they are already getting tipped before even doing any work. So if 80% of the ship gets the UBP as a free perk, it seems like the service may not be as good. So how many people do take advantage of the perk?

I dont know how to do a poll, But are you taking the UBP as a free perk?

I actually spoke to a rep. All info here was correct, they are free if they order off kids menu. But good idea if they want to try an app..

this isn't true anymore. Kids pay regular price.

so Kids menu is free, but regular menu, what ever charges say..

Thank you for the pics,. I am going to be on Gem with my 2 boys and Wide, so I was wondering how they were going to configure bed, I also have a window room.

Anyone have them?

I will be on gem in another 2 months or so, does the gift shop sell liquor and do they have special prices on certain days?
