LOL....they have had years to 'retrain' and nothing has happened yet.

LOL....there are a few members on here that would argue with their own shadow.
This is good news....any pricing transparency always benefits the consumer. I applaud it.

The best bet is ordering simple combinations that won't be on Carnivals menu. Most of the menu is filled with things with a 'tropical' vibe which have 2 to 3 different fruit flavors. They are working to please though who want to drink but not taste the alcohol. That waters down the drinks and makes the very sweet. Stick with the classics, one liquor and one mixer or something meant to be dry like a martini. Go to the Alchemy and they will amaze you at what they can come up with.

I’ve sailed MSC 4 times, never had any issues…I don’t care if they don’t know my middle name.
Well....I didn't care if they knew I was Jr. but that is my legal name which is on my passport so that is what I entered. Instead of being like every other company that has a separate block to add suffixes they add it to the last name field. Unless everyone involved from that point forward from MSC employees to TA's enter the name perfectly so it matches their database it will not link and they cannot correct it.
MSC created my profile as John Joe Doe Jr. If the last name field is not entered as "Doe Jr.", precisely including the period, all is lost. The fix is to delete the user account, Voyager account and to reapply for both so they can manually link them together. Then and only then will you be able to manage your cruise on the MSC site and get Voyage credits.
-
LOL....you don't even want to know what the suffix of Jr. has put me through in the last two months. They finally fixed it after countless emails, deleting accounts, deleting Voyager accounts, ect. Something so simple is just impossible for them to fix. MSC has lots of work to do on the IT side of things as they have for years. It simply does not get better.

Yes....they will give you a problem.

Is there a way to find out if the ship is having 2 or 3 dinner seatings due to occupancy
Since ships are pretty much all sailing full bet on 3.

Call me crazy/stupid/whatever, but I think the inconsistencies in DL's is confusing. I had googled "does Texas have enhanced drivers license" and gotten confusing results (I shared a pic within this thread). Is it my fault that I didn't do more digging? Sure! But, instead, I grabbed hubby's birth certificate as I was packing. Glad I did!
Then there's passport cards vs passports. My husband will renew his passport. As for the kids, I am in decision paralysis.
....but it really isn't complicated, people just make it that way. For decades many states gave out DL's like candy. That is what prompted the Real ID standard, the government said lets make sure people are who they say they are and required identity documentation. That is all it is.
EDL's are a niche that fills the same role as a federal passport card. When entry to our neighboring countries by DL went away it created a need for those in border areas who commonly cross. The EDL/Passport card replaced it, it carries all the same citizenship and identity verification but is easily carried in a wallet.

Its not in my experience.

The sports bar is where you want to be. We have also found in the past they would have some off menu selections for the cruise that they sold until it was gone.

I think when people from the 45 states that don't offer an Enhanced DL, they don't realize that it is an actual type of specialized license (Proper Noun), but think that their Real ID Driver's License has 'enhanced features' (adjective), like qualifying you get get on a plane starting in 2025. I think that this contributes to the confusion.
I have no idea. I am far from the smartest guy in the room but a simple Google search cleared it up for me years ago. At one time when I was much younger we cruised with BC's. Even I could clearly understand what I had was Real ID and that an EDL was basically a state issued passport card only issued by states on the northern border.

Even in a topic with this much information people still don't understand the difference between Real ID and an EDL. Baffling.

Booked a interior....got an interior.
Booked an OV....got an OV.

Be very careful if you get a cell provider "cruise plan". They come with very limited data with astronomical overages, if you use your phone like you would on land you might be in for a big surprise.

Only NY and TX. Has to do with the laws in those states. Why can't they just make Cheers kick in once the casino opens and they're in international waters? Not sure.
I think that would raise the 'what do you charge' question. I don't know what I would pay for a drink package that won't start until after 6pm.

We were on the MG last month. I think many negative reviews come from people who simply aren't prepared to deal with the crowds. Our first time on her was in the reduced capacities after COVID and this was absolutely a different experience. The sheer number of people slows everything down and with the size of the ship sometimes feels like you aren't even on a cruise ship. I commented to my wife on board that you could sit at most of the popular bars and you might as well be in some random spot on land due to the lack of ocean views. The ship is beautiful and has everything you could want but that has come at a cost of losing the 'feel' of being at sea for us.
It isn't bad....just different.

The website has been a nightmare. I still can't sign up for the voyager club. I've emailed them multiple times. I called customer service and they said I had to send an email. 🤷♂️
It is crazy....we just booked and they 'can't find' my Voyager account even though I provided the number, it is linked to my MSC account and I can enter it browsing for cruises to view the discounted fares. I logged in and realized I did not get get credit for our prior cruise even though my wife did. Right now it is in limbo, I can't access or manage our new cruise from the website and so far no response from the Voyage Club email I sent.

We did the Seaside last year and I would rate our experience around a 5. They had some things they did well but a number of things they flatly failed at compared to all their mainstream competitors. I understand it was cheap but my complaints were not over missing luxuries, it was simple things like serving hot food and not taking an hour to serve the entree in the dining room. Those things should not be price dependent. I really wanted to like it but they did not win me over as a customer, I would take a Carnival cruise over that experience any day of the week even on a Fantasy class relic.
We are giving it one more chance this summer on the Seashore. If our first cruise was a bad week then we will carry on, if it is a similar experience we won't be back.

I can tell you 3 weeks ago on the Mardi Gras it was not enforced and it was already a topic of conversation on here. Walking down the hallway was like a maze.

I use the AARP cards for everything Cruise related, Paying for the cruise, excursions, water for the cabin, Specialty dining. cheers, shore excursions etc.
Same here. Between that and my normal kickback from a TA I can usually save 15% or so on the total cost.

Trying to settle a discussion. On the Celebration- is there a specific night that filet is offered on the new MDR menu?
First elegant night.....it is now a combo filet and short rib so the steak portion is smaller than it was as a standalone offering.

Ocean Cay reopening?
in MSC Cruises

Yup. Itineraries are set months in advance. There is no way to "hold off" on booking it as a stop until it is 100% finished.
