We get to enjoy your descriptive writing again. :)

Not sure. $25 was my personal bid limit on several beauties, but I was left in the dust.
My husband was lucky paying less, probably because nobody else from Port Angeles was aboard.

On Statendam final cruise they were auctioned to interested passengers. Bought one that now hangs in an office at HAL headquarters and one in grandson's bedroom - fun to have them!
Hello, cruisin'teach. :)
Jack was thrilled to buy the plaque for Port Angeles, WA - our home. He treasures it.
I just wish that HAL treasured the history that they should be honoring.

It would be so nice if the ms Statendam art treasures could go into the ms Nieuw Statendam.

Yes, I would have hoped that some of the art would be placed on the newbuilds.
Maybe others who sailed with me on the Statendam's final voyage will have memories more clear than mine. But, I do recall that somehow, maybe during a Q & A, we were told that removing, storing, and re-installing some of the special pieces of art would take place on the newbuilds. I do recall learning that the mermaids/fountain in the Atrium were "toast", however.
This was the same cruise in which I was told that the library books, which I SAW being boxed by the On Location Guide and the Librarian as we approached Singapore, would be off-loaded, stored, and transferred to the Amsterdam when she reached that Port during the Winter. Those books were then to be off-loaded to the Koningsdam when they met in Italy. Did not happen!
Your memories are indeed accurate.

Thank you again for your great blog and photographs.
Your Cruise Director Gene and his family are in our prayers.
Wonder who will fill in until you get the replacement in Athens?
You realize that you do have a former CD aboard.

Thank you, OlsSalt, for bringing up this subject.
Doing our own research is paramount, but since HAL is providing port information, it should be useful.
A long wish list for HAL could be useful for them to consider and sift through.
The old maps were so nice, because they had enough contrast to be easily readable. Unfortunately, they were not always accurate. The new maps are too faint to even read sometimes.

Thank you, Mary Ann and Bill for taking us along on this adventure. Your detailed descriptions and photos are priceless.
I found more than one version of the love story in the Impressions production.

So pleased that you appreciated getting to visit Majuro.
Their seafaring skills and delicate fine weaving are unexcelled.

I have had the cortisone, as well as the jell shots. I have worn a knee brace from the ortho doc for a number of years. You can buy a stretch one at a drug store. This might help. I think the key is not to overdue. I also take turmeric.
I always travel with a pair of elastic knee supports. If a knee acts up, the extra support can save the day. My new ones were about $3 apiece from Wal Mart. Consider doing some shopping for them in Fort Lauderdale.
Thank you so much for sharing another Grand World Voyage with all of us.

Thank you both for answering my question.
Each roll call has opportunities to try different things.
Thanks again to both of you for blogging details of the cruise.

I have a question. This Cruise Critic Roll Call group planned a special gathering to discuss the use of the Cruise Critic website. I do not remember anyone mentioning how it turned out.
Was this gathering informative and helpful?
Should future roll call groups consider doing this?
Thank you again for letting us share in your wondrous journey. :)

Thank you, Dave, for taking us along on your awesome Australian adventure.
I have appreciated each blogger's description of the special cruise that we had to cancel. You went above and beyond the usual travelogue. Well done.
Now that you are home to reality, may you both enjoy a Merry Christmas and the blessings of a Happy New Year.

Thank you, Dave, for page two. Can't imagine how it got missed :) I really appreciate all of your work to share this adventure with us.
Fremantle is a lovely city. You are a good explorer and your photographs are great. Glad the weather warmed up.
The Gazpacho Andalusia at dinner sure looked good to me.
Keep up the good work and enjoy.

Really enjoyed your Fremantle tour, especially the bigger koalas and the well fed wombat.
Sounds like you have found our Washington State weather :(
Could you please post page two of the Fremantle Explorer?
Thanks,

I was also enjoying Btimmer's Australia blog, especially his surprising news about the HAL computer classes.
Hoping for more whenever possible.
Meanwhile, enjoy your great cruise.

Enjoyed the jack-o-lanterns and dreaming about the menus. :)
You are a trooper, Dave. Through thick and thin, you share countless details and photos for us to enjoy. Thank you.
Remember to look out for yourself and DW, savoring this great adventure and getting enough rest.
When our grandchildren arrive this morning (Kg teacher conference) (new baby brother is six weeks old), they will delight in seeing your different carved pumpkins. Tonight is our Halloween.

The last time we were in Cadiz, I ordered sangria. It came in a small bottle, like a soft drink. I enjoyed it.
Thank you for sharing your cruise with us and for your expert opinions.

Oct. 16, at sea (Cont.)
We both agreed that we may be in the minority, but we find the crème brulee to be pretty bland/tasteless. It is basically a flan, of which we are not fans. Maybe if they floated it in a plate of Grand Marnier instead of just adding a dash, we might find it tastier.
More later,
Dave
Thanks for trying the creme brulee. Not everyone loves it like I do. Jack won't even touch it. I always enjoy flan too, because back in Jack's Navy days our neighbor in Greece presented us with a big bowl of yummy homemade flan. Good memories.

Dave, I am delighted to see the Creme Brulee offered so often on the Dinner Dessert Menu.
Please enjoy one for me. :)
