As I am reading through this post - I was thinking how many go on vacations and are not given alternatives when bad weather occurs? Most people are stuck - period.  I live in a shore town and have seen rainy days and storms coming up the coast and vacationers having to stay inside their hotel rooms(with kids) and NOT able to use the beaches or pools.  No one gave them money back nor did they expect compensation for the weather conditions.  We can't control weather.  I believe that Royal is doing the safe alternative and hoping for the best. If you are flying somewhere, airlines cancel flights and then an entire vacation may be missed!  I may not be happy when it rains on my parade(vacation), but time on a cruise ship with my spouse and a drink in hand is still more enjoyable compared to work - LOL

    did they open the casino

Has anyone had experience with this on Royal Caribbean?  I have some of my grandmother's ashes that she wanted spread at sea.  My grandparents loved cruising so my family thought this would be a great way to remember her.  I've already contacted RC and have the permission and know to contact the front desk on the first day.  Do I really need to have the death certificate and cremation certificate.  My dad is not sure where he put them.  I have purchased a biodegradable urn.  Did anyone have to show a certificate showing it was biodegradable.  But I am traveling by myself this cruise and my siblings would like to see some video of this.  Can I have someone else besides me there if I can get someone from my roll call to come if they are not on my reservation?  Do you think someone on the crew would be willing to take some video?  I'm not planning on doing anything much besides tossing the urn.  Maybe reading some memories my parents and siblings are sending me since we did the main memorial this past summer.

Thanks in advance for your help.

we were taken to deck 4 aft and no the ship did not stop

  3. We just attended a burial at sea in December. The family contacted RCCL and they gave all of the info. They had the Captain of the ship{Adventure}contact the widow and told her what he would do.One of the things that is important was that the ashes must be in a biodegradable so thatit will open.As for  the ceremony we met with an officer at the pursurs desk and he took us to an area where all will take place. At the location we met with the vio officer to make sure that the ashes were in a bio container..after the ceremony the officer contacted the bridge and the widow was got long/lat of where it took place. She was then got a certificate of the location.

      hope that this helped.

  4. We do B2b every year, our next one is in four weeks. As you said you don't have to change cabins, that is a big deal, make everything easier. They will give you an in transit ticket if you want to get off in between, that ticket if you go off you don't have to stand in any line [except customs] to get back on board. There is a lunching on turn around day for B2B.If you want you can go in the pool with no one around.

We will be also doing a B2B2B in January,We find these relaxing.

    Enjoy your cruise.

  5. We were just off of the Anthem and we are D+.the problem with the D+ lounge was that it was on deck 12 AFT,it is the longest we ever had to walk to get to a lounge. The lounge itself was very nice, but being to FAR aft no one was going there. The most we seen in there was 10 members. The room hold maybe 50-60 members. The one night the Captain came in and ask the concierge where everyone was,her answer was that it is so out of the way they don't come. The D lounge was on deck 5 next to the theater and easy to get to.

  6. We take B2B cruises every year.As everyone has said every port is different. One thing I didn't see is usually they say that your room will not be ready till a certain time, well this does not apply to B2B.If they try to stop you from going to your room just tell them that you are B2B and you can go to your room.Any time.If you have to change cabins.,after you have breakfast go to your room to see if they moved you,if so go to that room and you can unpack. What we do is put as much as we can on hangars the steward will bring a cart and will put the hung clothes on the cart and will also take your luggage.

We have been doing B2B for ten years.only once we had a problem ,our clothes were not move by nine o clock ,so we called the head of housekeeping and She came to the room and everything was moved within ten minutes.

    Enjoy your cruise
