  1. We were on the Empress in 2001 when it docked in Phil..One of the problems was getting out bof the port.while we waited for a cab in the pouring rain, only one cab showed up in a half hour.Trere was a started there and all she could do was keep getting on her radio and telling cab to come to the port. And another problem was the porter came up and told the starter that they get the next cab and by then there were about fourty people waiting in line and we all yelled NO WAY,with that the starter called for the police. We won

  2. we sailed on the Empress last November on the five night cruise, are you doing the five night with over night,We took the five hour Havana tour and were really inpressed with it,the guide spoke very good English. After the tour we went back to the ship for a quick dip in the pool and relax.

On day two[the ship didn't leave till four o clock]we just walked around the square and had a beer. The square is just across the street from the dock.We didn't go out till about ten o clock.

Just to let you know you have to go thru custom getting off and coming back.

I hope this helped you a little bit.

  3. When you book a b2b,you should ask for the same cabin so you don't have to change cabins after the first weeks cruise. If you cant get the same cabin that is ok ,just that after the first week you will have to move to another cabin.Your room steward will do all of the moving.Anything that is on a hangar they will put it on a rack to be moved, but anything that is lose you will have to put in a suitcase or some type of bag.

Going back to booking the room and if you cant get the same cabin ask who you book if thru to be put on a list in case that cabin becomes available,on both rooms

  4. Two years ago I had a complete knee replacement.I went early to the muster[we were on the Adventure]and told them about my operation and that I cant stand for to long. They took my cabin so as to check me in and sent me to the dining room where people with disabilities were taken care of.

  5. We were on the Cuban cruise in November,we stayed overnight .On the first day we took a very good tour from the ship ,it was listed for a 4 hour hour tour but it lasted almost five hours with the last stop at a flea market. After getting back to the ship we crossed the road and walked around the square for a bit.On the second day after breakfast we again went to the square and did a little more touring around the whole square.

Just a little info going back to the ship you do have to go thru customs every time. Also if you buy anything, with American money they will not give you USA change,so befor you go if you can go to a place to exchange money do so,we changed to euros, and in the termonial you can change the euros for Cuban.

    enjoy the trip

  6. If you have not been to St Maartins before, there is the beach in town which is in good shape. It would cost you $7 a day PP for the ferry ,you get an arm band that you can go back and forth all day. There are place to eat along the walkway. You can rent chairs and umbrellas there. And town is right there if you want to walk around.

  7. We also did this same tour, the only problem[if you want to call it that]was we were just getting to the statue of Jesus over looking the Harbor[nice seeing as you come in the harbor]It started raining and as the bus stopped the skies opened up.Some people wanted to go up to the statue and when they came back they were soaked. If you do go on this tour get to where you will meet to leave for the tour get there early as they give you tickets to get on the bus starting with number one, which we were on ,there were 7 buses that did this tour.

  8. We have taken many B2B cruises.Like someone said ,it all depends on the port.On our last cruise on the Seranade we had to turn in our old seapass after checking out between the cruises but was given it back by the conceigre

later .One thing about B2B,once you come back on board after seeing customs, you can go back to your cabin any time you want. There will be a staff member stationed near your passage way door, they will say you cant go to your room, just tell them that you are B2B and you can go in.As for getting your first seapass back when they take it ask about getting it back,if you are Crown and anchor that may be where you get it.Also there is usually a luncheon at noon in the dining room just for B2Bers.

    Enjoy your B2B

  9. You won´t get a final answer here, you would need to call the cruiseline.

Having said this, I highly doubt you will get clearance for this. In this day and age they don´t allow any visitors onboard aside from official groups like TA´s or press they are showing the ship to. Wedding guests are also allowed, but as I said I highly doubt you´ll get some individual clearance here.

is there a reason that your parents cant go off of the ship?

  10. We Did the Cuban cruise in November on the Empress of the seas and we stayed overnight. We took the four hour bus tour from the ship and it was very interesting with a very good guide. When the tour was over we walked across the street from the dock to the square. The second day we just went again to the square and walked the other part of the square.

We went to the library and got the travel book from Fromers and read up on the Island.

    Hope you enjoy
