One question for those on the test cruise. If possible could you get a picture of the list of venues that are vaccinated and none vaccinated. I have seen this for other ships and don't know if they are fleet wide or ship specific. We are traveling with a under 12 year old and would like to take him out to specially dinning one night but wondered what is available. Looking forward to hearing your comments, enjoy the cruise.

Here is the current list of experiences directly from RCI: https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/are-there-any-experiences-that-are-closed

  2. The Cruise Planner is currently working for all my booked cruises. Sometimes it helps to clear your browser cache and history, or use a different browser. Sometimes that will fix the issue. If that doesn't work, you may have to call Customer Service to have the issue rectified.

  3. I know this is off topic, but it does concern the 'Cruise Planner'. Here's a screen shot of the Unlimited Dining Package(s) in my cruise planner on an upcoming booking. In the description, they're both identical, but the prices sure aren't. Maybe 'AI' isn't so intellegent after all. Any suggestion on which one I should choose?

It is very sad that you are continuing to hold onto this false narrative, rather that just admit that your original statement was blatantly false.
By SOLAS standards, prior to 2020, ships MUST ,without exception, hold muster drill at assigned muster locations.
No amount of creative word play will change this FACT, and make your original statement true.
You were wrong, period, end of story.

What's sad is that some people could much better at trolling if they were a bit more creative. And, as you stated, if this is the end of the story, it's fine by me.

    Sorry, wrong again. Semantics aside.

I thought I was wrong once, but I was mistaken. Went on four cruises 2019-2020 on 3 different lines. Last cruise was on Jan. 2020 on LOTS. NCL and MSC had their muster drills in entertainment and lounge venues. RCCL still had theirs on deck 4 at the designated muster stations.

The new muster drill is certainly an improvement, but I challenge the OP claim they Royal was “one of the last cruise lines to require assembly at a designated location”.

I don’t have to prove anything. Prior to Covid, we all know, every ship embarking from a US port had Muster Drill at a predetermined assigned location.

This is apparently an issue of semantics, so I shall parse my original statement. Royal Caribbean was one of the last cruise lines to require their passengers to assemble outside on the lifeboat deck at the actual muster station to conduct and complete the safety drill.

So,,, think of the poor crew members who have to stand in the hot sun for hours, reading the safety drill script and doing the life vest demonstration over, and over, and over, and over, and over. Instead of once. (Regardless of what you see on the app or your TV, they are still obligated to read the entire safety script to each person/group showing up at the muster station).

And having the ship's captain making repeated threatening announcements that people need to go to their muster station,,, over and over and over. And finally the Cruise Director coming on a ship-wide PA saying that anyone that doesn't go in the next 15 minutes will be thrown off the ship.

It was actually kinda of negative way to start a cruise.

To each their own. I welcome the change. I've never seen/heard of anyone being thrown off of a ship for missing a muster drill. And, this is just a guess, but I'm guessing that RCCL world much rather have their paid crew inconveinenced than their paying passengers.

  8. As a result of new health protocols being established for cruises, one good thing to come from them is the new RCCL ship safety drill. (muster drill) Royal Caribbean was one of the last cruise lines that required assembly at the designated muster stations.

The new system is a vast improvement, being much faster, way less hassle and a very simple process to follow. In addition, the entire ship doesn’t have to shut down while everyone does the drill.

It makes much more sense to do be able to do the safety drill on a smart phone, tablet, or stateroom television and then go to the designated muster station to get the Sea Pass card scanned for verification.

Being packed in like sardines on an open deck for a safety drill regardless of the weather was truly awful. If one good thing came from the COVID19 outbreak, the new RCCL safety drill is it.

  9. There are no "sales" they're simply price adjustments. The prices are determined by the revenue department dynamic pricing algorithm. The challange is to monitor RCL's Cruise Planner pricing frequently. Prices may go up one day and down the next, and sometimes more than once in a single day. It's really up to you to determine your comfort level and what you're willing to pay.

Question...I am sailing with a cabin mate that is not a drinker (maybe a glass of wine at dinner). I would like to purchase the drink package but I am under the impression cabin mate would have to as well. That pretty much means I have to pay as I go. Is there any recourse for this?

RCCL does make exceptions, but will have to call customer service. If you choose to buy the Deluxe Beverage Package they usually require the purchase of the Royal Refreshment package by your cabin mate.

I've been away from booking cruises for so long now, I though I would feel like a newbie again on this site... The very first thread I see: Beverage Package price increase.  I guess things haven't changed all that much 😁, I feel right at home 😎.

After 15 years with NCL giving RC another try-last sailed 15 years ago Legend of the Seas.

What does a former Free-Style cruiser need to know for a smooth sailing with RC Navigator of the Seas.  Any tips would be helpful and appreciated. Thanks

The Navigator of the Seas has a "Peek-A-Boo Bridge". It's an observation area where guests can view the action taking place on the ship's navigation bridge. It's located at the very front of the ship on deck eleven.

Sounds like we are on the same cruise. I'm not sure what a surf pool is but I dont think we have one, just regular pools. I think maybe if liberty was amped it would have but it's only a regular dry dock from what I've read. It's on it's way or in dry dock now so it will be nice for us.

The "Amplifications" for LOTS have been postponed until further notice. So, it will still have the Cigar bar, Sabor restaurant and the Champagne bar all of which will go away when it is finally amplified.

  15. Keep in mind that the odds of being selected for a "test" cruise are minuscule. The CDC mandates that 10% of the ship's maximum number of passengers are required for compliance. The IOS has been confirmed for a test cruise and has a passenger capacity of 4650, so RCCL will only need 460 volunteers for that cruise. Over 250,000 people have signed up so far and I've never been lucky with the LOTTO. I ain't holding my breath.
