  1. I have already put in my two cents on the pricing before, but I'll share my story again...

I was all set to book a ov balcony on the harmony, the only reason I didn't pull the trigger was because I wanted to get in CC and ask about people's experience in selecting a guaranteed vs non guaranteed. Now it was my fault for not selecting the hold reservation option, and I will never make that mistake again, but the price jumped 2000, in less than 90 minutes. Needless to say, I was furious, and when I called to speak with a rep, one said they saw the rate I had, but couldn't do anything about it, when I spoke to their supervisor, they claimed not to be able to ever see the original rate I had intended to book (implying I was lying or not being entirely forthcoming?) then went on to tell me that there were only 3 OV balconies left and that I should jump on it before they sold out. Of course I knew that was absolute BS. Why is it that the number 3 always seems to be the go in the travel industry regarding availability? 3 seats left at this price, 3 rooms available at this price, etc... anyways, that's how these big companies work, always have always will

  2. yes! ginger has been a remedy for nausea since ancient times i believe. i ask about ginger ale because my girlfriend likes to drink rum with ginger ale (must be a cuban thing? lol) i've tried it, not bad, but i'm more partial to rum and coke if I am going to have a rum drink... but i digress, will the nausea fighting component be effective if drinking it with rum hahahaha

  3. whatever you do, if you got a good deal, jump on it. i was on the boards a little over a week ago asking about a guarantee because the price was better, then in the span of 90 minutes, the price had jumped 1000 dollars and the guarantee staterooms were gone.

  4. You almost hooked me earlier in the thread. LOL. You joke about Royal being the best because they are the only cruise line you've been on but you would be surprised at the number of people that really think that. Thats why I said head in the sand :D

haha i almost reeled you in! i'm generally a lurker on the boards until i have booked a trip, then i'll become more active. i know all too well about how defensive people get about "their" cruise line lol. i do find it quite amusing, i must admit.

  5. I certainly don't want a bunch of unaccompanied 18 year olds on a a cruise ship!

understandable, but I've seen plenty of unaccompanied 30 years acting a fool as well. Now I understand that chances of misbehavior is more closely associated with a younger crowd, but still, something irks me about that. I think about all the unaccompanied 18 year olds that are deemed mature enough to go fight in wars, but can't go on a cruise. I know that might be a played out line, but, 18 is an adult in all legal regards in most parts of the world, and with the exception of car rentals (the normal rate at least) and alcohol consumption, it is in the US as well.

  6. listen Craig, I've only sailed on Royal, so I can tell you, unequivocally, that Royal is better.

...so easy to ruffle feathers on here... but in all seriousness, you sound like me, trying to gauge based on comparisons, but while you may like Carnival better still after your Royal cruise, you still can't go wrong with RC, you'll enjoy it, that I am quite sure of.
