  1. VIFP PLATINUM AND DIAMOND SUITE GUESTS UPDATE
    AND ONLINE CHECK-IN INVITATION

Dear Valued Platinum and Diamond Suite Guests,

This communication is being sent to our booked Platinum and Diamond Suite guests.  It is independent from any request our guests might have pending for an exemption to vaccine requirements, and the receipt of this communication is not any indication of the status of your request.

We want to thank you for the loyalty and support you have shown Carnival, and also make you aware of the new way to redeem your VIFP amenities. These changes were designed in accordance with our new Have Fun. Be Safe. protocols to minimize the number of stateroom deliveries, while making it easier for you to collect some of your benefits.

Moving forward, certain VIFP amenities will be linked to your Sail & Sign folio for electronic redemption, like how we currently handle complimentary laundry.  Simply claim your benefit, using your Sail & Sign card, and a one-time credit for that item will be posted on your folio and be visible on your statement.

    Complimentary Beverages
    • Brunch Beverage – redeemable in the dining room.
    • 1.5L Bottled Water – redeemable from any bar, restaurant or your stateroom.
Chocolate Delight (5 + Day Cruises)

A tasty treat will be ready for you to enjoy; just call room service to schedule delivery.

Carnival Logo Gift & Ship Pin

Please visit our Photo Gallery to claim your Carnival logo gift and your Carnival ship pin.  We encourage you to claim your gifts no later than two days prior to the end of your cruise.

We also want you to know that given our focus on meeting the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) requirements and implementation of new health and safety protocols, we will need to adjust how we deliver some of the VIFP priority benefits, as follows:
    • ONLINE CHECK-IN – All guests will be required to complete Online Check-In, which will open 14 days prior to sailing.  Platinum and Diamond Suite guests will be given 48 hours advance access to select their preferred Arrival Appointment. Please visit My Cruise Manager on Carnival.com starting at 16 days prior to sailing to complete your Online Check-In and select the Arrival Appointment that works best for your plans.
Due to additional embarkation day processes, all guests will have to arrive promptly at their Arrival Appointment.
    • STATEROOM ACCESS – Staterooms will be ready when you board.
    • WATER SHUTTLE PRIORITY – Priority water shuttle debark will be provided subject to local guidance at the destinations we visit, which may change without prior notice.  Our team on board will keep you informed of the debarkation plans for each port.
    • CASINO – Although we are currently unable to host casino tournaments on board, you will be given US$25 in Casino FunPlay®, in addition to any other FunPlay® you might be entitled to as part of your booking.
    • DEBARK – You will have the benefit of priority debark.

I sure hope that hasn't changed.  I always just let them know that I'd like to sit with others.  I'm a solo cruiser on the next couple that I have booked this year and that is one part of cruising that I really enjoy....meeting new people in the MDR.

Just off Carnival Pride and we used the Carnival Hub to make dining reservation.  They asked if you would like to sit with others.  We saw people being seated that way.

By contacting the casino dept. Global casino services.

We were with another couple.  We checked in with the casino host (next to the cashier) and while checking their computer, we were told it was a go for all of us.  When we got our first drinks we had to sign the check and the total was zero.  My sister didn’t have her reading glasses and just signed.  Bad idea, her drink did not ring up free.  For some reason, it took a few days to zero-out her tab, but it was corrected.

Later in the cruise, no checks.  Much better.

My offer from this morning. I already have one booked 7/25 under the same offer that has since expired. Today I completed online check in for that cruise and it did not state anything about free drinks everywhere. The $400 OBC showed up in the documents.

    Book by May 15, 2020

    • 3rd & 4th guests cruise for $10 each when you sail between June 27 and September 30, 2020
    • Offer available on sailings between June 27 and November 30, 2020

Is there anywhere on your documents that show the Rate Code and the FunPlay credits.  Thanks!

The price of our upcoming cruise with Cheers dropped considerably after final payment.

What's Carnival's "official" policy on this?  We are not looking for a price drop, but the price of an extended balcony is well below what we paid for a standard balcony.  The extra balcony space would be nice.  Would they move us to an extended balcony if we asked?

We booked online and do not have a PVP.

Call.  Sometimes they will do the switch.  Good luck.

We are due to sail out of NYC to New England and Canada on September 6. I realize none of us have a crystal ball! But, if you have a cruise booked early September, what are your thoughts. Do you think it will sail? Did you have one booked and you cancelled, why? If you haven't cancelled, are you just waiting for NCL to cancel and take the best deal or you'll sail if it sails? Thank you!

Had the same cruise booked but cancelled on April 15.  Was told refund of deposit would take 90 days.  We cancelled due to our age but mostly because it was sailing out of NYC.  We think it may be cancelled but who knows.  Stay Healthy!

  7. We are both in our 70's.  Our May cruise on Oasis was cancelled.  Requested our refund on March 27 (still not received~~ they said 30-days, so they still have time).  Would have done the FCC if it were not for the medical letter.  Our doctor said no way for signing that.  Before this we travelled all the time.  We think we are healthy enough.  When could you ever use the FCC?

Sadly, just cancelled our September cruise out of NYC since final payment is almost due.  The NY/NJ area is just too risky.  They said 90-days for refund.  Sure hope the cruise industry survives this.  There are so many new ships on the books. 🤞

We love cruising and hopefully will be able to cruise again.

    Stay Healthy!

I just selected all mine at the same time.  I have the two platinum and then the 3 others for the dining.  Put all in at the same time.  Someone said you get two cards in  your room for the platinum dining.  I guess you bring it with you on the restaurant you chose.   With Cagneys or Le Bistro you get a bottle of wine.

Thanks again and happy to hear about the wine.

Thank you so much.  I was wondering what they were replacing Moderna/La Cucina with.  I have been to Los Lobos on the Dawn and it was really good.  I also was at the Q on the Bliss.  I like both but think I will do Los Lobos on the Encore.  By chance have you tried Onda?  I was thinking about making that one of my dining choices too.  With the two extra it will give me 5.  I will be at 120 days in 2 days so want to get the dinner dates and times in.

    Have a wonderful evening!

    Mary

Our cruise on Encore is in the fall and it will be our first time sailing platinum, so I have been researching and found the info I shared with those who have previously shared.  I have read a few posts about being able to use one of the platinum dinners at Onda.  If you get a chance after your sailing, report back if yes or no on your cruise.

Have a great cruise.  Wish ours was sooner.
