    Hi Elpasomom,

That sounds very interesting-would this be offered on a sea day? Do you remember about how much they charge for this?

    Thanks

Yoshi, i just returned from a 14 night Into the Midnight Sun cruise. The sessions were offered three evenings from 8-9:30. I do not believe any of the sessions were on sea days. The session was $39. I enjoyed it very much as the spa staff made it fun and educational. The staff had a few extra surprises that you cannot replicate on your own:D

  3. With reference to the previous post, my wife and self are also on the 26th June sailing. My itinerary says - Wed 27 June, departure Greenwich11pm. Obviously some confusion, a nuisance though, as I would have preferred to sail down the Thames in the daylight.

    Hampshire Lad,

This is confusing. My daily calendar entry states 01:20am departure on myvikingjourney but the trip summary states 11:00pm. Not much of a difference as it will be dark both times.

  4. We used discount Hawaii car rental also. This website works as an aggregate site and you will state you are a cruise ship passenger and the type of car you want to rent. You are then give a choice of brand 1, 2 or 3 etc. the brand is revealed at checkout. The nice thing about using this company is that you do not need to put a credit card hold on your reservation.

  5. Our large balcony room was a category B6. I don't know the square footage off hand but I believe you can get that information on the NCL website under deck plans. The large balcony is over twice the size of a regular balcony and appeared to be almost the same size as our stateroom, give or take a few feet. Enjoy your time in Hawaii!

  6. I think that trying to catch a flight at 8:30am is very risky. We were on the Christmas sailing of the POA and we were docked around 7:00am. We still had to exit the ship and collect our bags in the warehouse where we embarked the previous Saturday. We did have to go through a quick US agriculture checkpoint both at the pier and at the airport. Then we had to exit the building and stand in line for a cab. The ride to the airport is at least 20 minutes from the pier. If your parents can carry off their bags from the ship and do not check their bags on the airplane that would save some time. I'm not sure I would take the chance.......

  7. The food was a major disappointment on the cruise. We did not visit any specialty restaurant but did eat all our dinners in the skyline or liberty dining rooms. The ribeye was absolutely horrid, we were sure that it was actually a pork steak! The desserts were pretty tasteless. The breakfast buffet in the aloha cafe offered the best flavor and variety. Cost cutting measures were obvious during the lunch buffet. One day we had rice prepared four different ways and the same for potato dishes on the buffet.

  8. We took this cruise the week of Christmas. I must agree the food was only fair with the breakfast buffet offering the best in taste and variety. We had a large balcony room which we enjoyed very much. Try to get your stateroom on the port side as that is the side that has the longest time to view the Napali coast.

We rented a car in every port and that worked out very well. Much cheaper than purchasing excursions for the four of us.

We used this cruise as a floating hotel and really didn't partake of the shows or cruise activities. This was our first time in Hawaii and we wanted to take advantage of every minute on shore.

  9. Holidayhelen, we sailed December 20-27. Sunset was around 5:40 pm, with complete darkness by 6:15 pm. Temperatures were between 65 and 75 during the day. We did have rain almost every day of the cruise, but only in Hilo did it last all day long.

  10. Picklebritches, we were on the 8th floor which I thought was a great floor to be on. It was very quiet, but easily accessible via the stairwells to all floors. We had a large balcony room that we enjoyed thoroughly. Our cabin was all the way forward where we did experience the motion of the ship.

  11. Beach towels will be in your room upon embarkation. The room steward will trade wet towels for dry ones during the week. I can't reply as to how the towels are handled on the pool decks. We were able to take our towels ashore with us the entire week. There is really no need to pack beach towels.

  12. We are just off the pride of America as of Saturday. We experienced all types of weather! Rain, wind, fog, sunshine, heat and active seas. We still enjoyed every minute of our time on shore. Please feel free to ask any questions and I will try to answer them for you.
