Based on the replies you’ve received, sounds like your sun goddess DH will like the aft balcony. Hope you have a great cruise T. We’ll see on part two of your b2b.

Yes, hope so....thank you

I was trying to decide the same thing.
My husband would not go for people walking by our balcony and the no privacy issue.
I booked deck 8 Havana Extended Aft Balcony. It cost a pretty penny, but we never had an Extended Aft before.
Looking forward to it.

Glad you are enjoying Dubai, is it your first time there? It's certainly a great place with so much to do. Wish I could rewind the clock to this time last week so I could have the holiday all over again😁
Yes it is!
So much fun and we haven't even boarded the ship yet.

Thank you for taking the time to post your review.
We arrived Thursday night in Dubai tired and hungry.
So looking forward to getting on the ship Monday.
Yesterday, we had lunch in the Burj at Atmosphere Restaurant. Wow!
Food amazing! Drink Presentation Amazing! Views Amazing! You're really paying for the whole experience. It was on my Dubai Bucket List.
We're staying at the Towers Rotana, Club Access Rooms on the 24th Flr. I love it here!
Phenomenal service! So much included with the price and nothing is too much to ask.
Still jetlagged, we went to Global Village last night. Wow again! Dubai is certainly living up to the hype! Fireworks and all!
I'm so tired, so pool relaxation today, and tonight, Dinner Iin the Sky, another Dubai Bucket List.
I'm sharing your review with my coworkers, were so excited to board.
Thank you again for sharing!

We are due to board Jewel on 17 Feb. Concerned firstly about the itinerary changes which we have accepted due to the unrest in the middle east and now the coronavirus which we are not so comfortable with. Just seen pictures of a shopping mall in Dubai which is practically deserted! Any comments? We have been trying to upgrade our inside cabin to a balcony cabin. We paid £1300, balcony cabins are now selling for £1200. We have been quoted £500 to upgrade which is ridiculous given there are alot not sold. Anyone can give advice would be much appreciated.
We had an Guaranteed Balcony for our Feb 24 sailing.
Two weeks ago we were assigned our Balcony in the lowest category on Deck 7. Ok, no problem.
Like you said, prices dropped to really low rates. I saw Cat 4B, Larger Balcony Cabin less than what we payed.
Called our RCCL Planner, he said sorry, no more 4B available. It would cost us more to upgrade to the Superior Balcony Cabin, Cat 1B. I said thanks for checking.
Last week I checked a Website I can't mention on here, where you can see what cabins are open.
When I checked all these 4B cabins were showing available. I called him immediately and he put us on the 11th Deck, no charge. It was cheaper than what we paid.
I would keep calling, ask for a Balcony Guarantee, my coworker was in an inside, he was able to book the Balcony Guarantee because the price dropped considerably, you never know what cabins will open up.

I am OP on other thread re Jewel. Coming off ship tomorrow.
We were originally concerned about safety but these were not justified.
Any specific questions, ask away.
I'm on the Feb 24th sailing.
Was there free lobster in the dining room?
What movies were shown at the pool Big Screen?
Any comedy shows?
Any theme nights, White NIGHT, etc.?
Did you go to Sir Bani ISLAND, how was the lunch? What did they serve? Was the water warm?
Any helpful dos and donts?
Thanks in advance

Thank you for your reviews.
The island looks gorgeous.

Hello. I visited family in Port Royal past October.
I took a walk downtown (very small town) with family members and theres a big wall and no one can see around it or can tell what is going on. You cant see if theres a pier, stores, etc.
Port Royal is small with humble people just trying to make ends meet.
I wouldn't be surprised if the stop is pushed back. Me spending a week there, I don't think the town is ready.
Hopefully, I'm wrong.

Yes on Nieuw Statendam.
Thank you.
Our first Princess Cruise (Regal), husband loved the ON Demand Movies!
I'm torn between the Regal and Statendam.
We love good food & service. The Regal blew us away!
Is there a Cigar Bar on the Statendam and Sports Bar?
Thanks in advance
-
I'm also thinking of booking our first HAL cruise on the Statendum.
Are the cabin tv's On Demand like Princess?
-
Love Carnival and will only sail their newer ships from now on.
With that being said, we tried Princess and it was a breath of fresh air.
Our first was on the Regal. The Regal was outstanding to us, because we love the buffet area on our cruises and the Regal buffet blew us away! Plus, the large flat screen on the wall and hubby had all the movies he could watch for free. Service was above and beyond, almost shocking.
We weren't use to 2 or 3 people running up to us at the same time, getting our beverages.
We then sailed on the Caribbean Princess. What a bad move! We went backwards. It was not on the same scale as the Regal, and I should have known better when I booked it.
We did not like that ship at all! From that blue flooring on my balcony to the small buffet area. I remember telling my husband this the first time I want to get off a cruise early.
Since its your first Princess Cruise, you won't know the difference. Service was excellent and you'll have a wonderful experience!
I just learned the hard way, only booking newer ships from now on.
We're in our 50s, normally do 2 or 3 cruises a year and still like to party. So we said we'll at least schedule in one CCL, RCCL MSC OR NCL cruise. But Princess is at the top. Newer ships only!
It's good to try other lines, more people should.
Enjoy!

What is best about the laundry package is going home with a suitcase of clean clothes. No laundry day right away.
For me, I liked that it was unlimited. I also didn't have to pack as much.
And, on this trip, you're going to have wet pieces of clothing all the time.
It was so nice to send these and other clothes out for washing.
And yes, the majority of my clothes where clean coming home. The last thing i wanted to do after that long flight is have laundry to tend to.

I'm looking at Frenchbee Airlines out of SFO.
Anyone flown them yet? The rates are unbelievable.
-
I personally like this option.
If i'm relaxed, reading a book and don't feel like getting up to stand in a line, I'll pay for convenience.

If you have specific selected seats already in your reservation, I wouldn't worry so much and check in at the airport or on your phone.
However, if you have not selected seats in advance, I would definitely check in for my flight 24 HRS before. You want to make sure you have a seat on your boarding pass, just in case your flight is oversold.
And, you do have to pay to use the computers. It's not complimentary.
