I'm confused haha I thought you meant the port fire doors closed as port side was quarantine area and you were starboard?

Yes, the port fire doors were closed. I was starboard in D409. I never worried about being on the same deck. I'm sorry about my confusing reply!

Hmm that doesn't make sense since I was on the starboard side D725 and I was able to move to D410 Love the Big Balcony...If the fire doors are closed on the port side and that's a quarantine area I will pass and just settle for a regular size balcony on another floor... I wonder who you would call that would be able to tell you what the quarantine area for your sail date would be...??

I was in D409 for the Christmas cruise and when you exited the center elevators the fire door was closed port. Forward and aft were open, I think. They may change it from cruise to cruise. Yes, I loved my balcony and spent a lot of time out there!

  3. I have some questions about this itinerary's excursions. I love to snorkel, but have heard the Pacific side isn't the best snorkeling. I also loved my whale watching tour in PV 2 years ago with Ocean Friendly. I love nature which is why I chose this cruise. I know I want to do whale watching in Cabo and possibly snorkeling at Santa Maria Cove  or Chileno Bay. I like to see lots of fish and coral is nice. In La Paz I thought I'd snorkel with sea lions, although swimming with whale sharks is also enticing. In Loreto I am torn between the magdalena bay whale watch and coronados island sail and snorkel. In PV I'm leaning toward Las Caletas or the Yelapa tour, but surely loved my whale watching before. Has anyone been on any of these tours or can tell me if the snorkeling is really not worth it? I thought the Sea of Cortez was the world's aquarium. We will be there in the first week of March. Is that too late for the whales? Finally, how cold is the water and do the tours provide wetsuits? I know ... lots of questions, but I'm having a hard time finding answers.Thank you!

  4. Got off Enchanted Princess last week. The port side mid deck area on Dolphin deck is the quarantine area. We were on starboard mid ship Dolphin deck and getting off the main or Panorama elevators you could not enter port side. The fire doors remained closed the whole cruise. I never got confused where my room was and felt very safe.

has anyone done this excursion from Loreto?  It is being offered by Princess in December 2021.  Something we have always wanted to do, very expensive though, so would like to get feedback from anyone who has done it whether the two hours there and back was worth it.  Thank you!

Mina, did you do this tour? I am trying to decide between this and Coronados Island.

    I just use regular applications of a SPF50 sunscreen, then I don’t need a hat 🤔

I've used SPF30 or higher for nearly 40 years, mostly SPF50 and above. I've had several  skin cancers of all types in the past 8 years and my dad died of melanoma so I'm adding rash guards and hats. I just hate the way I look in them, not to mention "hat hair". lol I have always loved the sun!

  7. What types of hats do you ladies wear on a cruise? I hate hats and they do not flatter me, but I have had a lot of skin cancers recently. I am short and fluffy which does not help. Preferably it will not blow off and pack easily. Thanks for any ideas!

I meant in Dominica.  I was wondering if they would let you wander the port without any excursion since that's what at least one port that I've heard about is allowing.

From what I've read on other boards they have a small area blocked off that you can shop and maybe the museum, but I'm not sure on that. Other than maybe a block you cannot wander on your own.

coo359a2, we are also on the Dec. 20 and I'm glad to see the letter. From everything I have read on other boards it sounded like Dominica is currently the only port that we may be visiting with such stringent protocols since Grenada was removed as a port.

    Thank you, kikiw!

  9. How exciting!! We will be on for Christmas so I will be following eagerly! Curious if people are doing private excursions at the ports, will there be a deck party, how is the food, any random thoughts, is Dolphin Deck the quarantine deck, etc.  Hopefully y'all will post some pictures even if it's after you get back, but most of all hope you have lots of fun!! Bon Voyage!

  10. Thanks all! I have been over on the Celebrity and RC boards to see how it's going for them and it is changing daily! We are going for it and will reevaluate 30 days out. We are on Enchanted Princess and 3 ports are level 4, 2 are level 3, and one is level 1or 2. I feel my travel clock ticking and, like all of you, I am so tired of this darn virus! So far things are looking ok.

  11. We are booked on a Christmas cruise and final payment is fast approaching & I am still debating with myself. Does anyone know how cruising in the Caribbean is going right now? Our stops are Curacao and Dominica both listed as Do Not Travel (4)due to Covid by the State Department, Grenada and T&C both listed as reconsider travel (3), and Bonaire which is Exercise Caution (1). I think STT is also level 3 and I know the USVI had their worst month in August. How will this affect us as cruisers? I am super excited about the itinerary, but wonder if we would miss ports or if there are extra things we will need to do to visit. I noticed on at least one port they want a nasal swab test within 48 hours of entering. How will that affect us? I know they aren't going to test us within 48 hours of each port. Hubby will be fine missing ports, but the ports are why I cruise. Anyone cruised in the Caribbean yet or have answers? I have been following the AL cruises and that is encouraging, but all in the US, no other countries like the Caribbean. I'm not trying to stir up controversy, but need to decide whether to pay final payment. Like so many, I had a couple of cruises canceled in 2020. TY in advance!

  12. Our replacement September cruise was canceled when Princess canceled cruises through the fall. We will not attempt to reschedule until corona virus is gone. With the 2nd cancellation, and me being on the fence about cruising right now, we will just wait until the world is healthier. Besides, the point of the cruise is to see the South Pacific and I think it is still possible for ports to close. Hopefully, we will get the chance in the future! Best of luck to all of you!

Thank you cltnccruisers. I appreciate your apology. I would never have said anything in "real life".  I'm sure after seeing all these responses that the rep I talked to told me wrong, but I will still try booking excursions and see what happens. I took her name, time, date, etc. We had a 28 day cruise and have rescheduled a similar/better cruise for September.... I think the chances of us going on that cruise may be slim at this time, but there are tons of excursions I want to do and if Princess won't let me use FCC I will probably book with a local tour instead, whatever the best deal is. If I can use FCC most excursions will be with the cruise line. Otherwise there are other cruises I'd like to do so I guess it will apply there. I do hope your cruise goes well.

  14. We rebooked from our canceled RT LA to Tahiti on April 11 to the Pacific Princess (yay, I love the smaller ship) Vancouver-HA-Tahiti, but it includes more of the smaller islands which I love. I'm (actually my husband) is an optimist because it's for Sept. 16. I am researching and ever so hopeful, but won't be surprised if it doesn't happen. Petoonya, I may have to hit you up for more advice!
