  1. And if you were to get your cruise for free and had to pay for your towels, meals, entertainment, etc. would you have a problem paying a service charge?

Where can you go and have 3 meals, a room that is cleaned every day and turned down for you at night, a clean bathroom with clean towels, entertainment, etc. and only pay $12.95 a day in service charges?

    Hi Harriet,

I feel cruising today is a great travel bargain.. I am always telling friends how cheap cruising is and unbelievable all that is included for the price of a ticket.

I am so glad I live in a port city and when bored am able to book a cruise at the last minute..

  2. One of these days people posting about the "good ol' days of cruising" will give up and find another vacation to take...

The good old days for me are any cruise I take...

Kind of of reminds me of when I first started cruising and I ask a couple who had been on many cruises what their favorite ship was they answered "What ever ship we find ourselves on"

The good old days are now..

    Rolls eyes....

  3. Cruising out of San Juan October 15 on the Carnival Dream. Any recommendations on where to stay for a couple nights prior while in San Juan. Want something that is close to the beach/tourist spots but also want to be close to some gay friendly establishments.

Also, is there a gay district in San Juan?

Atlantic Beach Hotel one Vendig Street, Condado, Condado, PR 00907 San Juan, Puerto Rico

On the gay beach just uo the street from the Marriott.

  5. Hi

My name is Lonnie. My spouse Haydn and I were supposed to be on this cruise. However Haydn s green card still hasn't shown up so it might just be me onboard. Haydn may have to fly over when it arrives

Looking forward to meeting you all

Looking forward to meeting you...Keeping fingers crossed that Haydn gets green card..

  6. I don't think its anymore nickle and diming then any other cruise ship Most mainstream cruiselines have extra fees. All the newer ships have something extra to pay for, from Ice cream to cup cakes specialty coffees and teas, from steam rooms to gym classes.

Having been on 50 cruises I can attest that your assumptions are erroneous..

MSC has their hand out at every turn..

MSC cruises are cheap for a reason.. Why do you think they take one of the most beautiful mid range ships afloat and practically give it away...

  7. I crossed the Atlantic on the Divina. The ship is exceptionally beautiful. The food is sub par. MSC has a way of nickel and diming you to death.

MSC ships are cheap for a reason.

  8. The water on Carnival's Fascination has the worst taste and smell of any cruise ship I have ever been on. I have complained several times to no avail.

  10. I'm looking forward to Ruthless Boss's response to this one!!!

OP, did you by chance check how long he's been a part of CC and how many posts he has? You've obviously never read any of Ruthless Boss's posts here- he remembers 'the good old days' very well and definitely isn't naïve!!!

    Smile...:)

  11. What on his list has changed? What on the list are we being charged:confused:

I am guessing by the naïve nature of your question you are a relative new cruiser and or can't remember the "good old days".
