  1. Cruised the Epic last year during March.  The ship was full of college spring breakers.  Don't worry about getting a seat at the pool.  The entire deck was wall-to-wall college kids.  You wouldn't or couldn't want to sit there.  You couldn't even walk through-you had to go down or up to get across.  The lines to get a drink anywhere near the pool were at least a half hour.  Your kids will have a blast but it's not like anything I have ever experienced on a cruise before.  As far as I could tell they didn't really eat much except watermelon so the restaurants weren't a problem.  Enjoy!

  2. Thanks for your reply-that sounds stressful!  Maybe we should skip Hamilton and do something else?  Any suggestions?  We arrive the day before in the late afternoon and we are taking a sunset cruise from the Dockyard and plan to shop there before the cruise and then checkout the nightlife at the Dockyard after the cruise.  We are beach people so we feel obligated to go to Horseshoe the next morning.

  3. Paradise Beach is my favorite. I'm going back in June. Wonderful pool and nice bar and beach. Very inexpensive. I have also been to Mr Sanchos but liked Paradise much better. The world's cleanest restrooms too. They have a lady who stays in there cleaning with every use.

  4. I sailed on the regal last month. Although a beautiful ship, the bar staff and most of the waiters are very grumpy. They closed the bar on the private island at 2:00 when we sailed at 5:00 for example. A man took the drink order for the man sitting next to me in the theater before the show but when I tried to order he said it was too late. For a brand new ship there is a lot of peeling varnish too. It's the only ship I would be reluctant to go on again. They do have lots of creme brûlée which is a good thing,

  5. On the day the ship was docked in St. Thomas last November the captain and his wife and my 18 year old son spent over an hour going down the slide over and over. It was great fun. I don't think the slide is normally open while at port though. There was a long line on sea days.

  6. I too just ran across this review two days ago. I spent most of Sunday reading it! It was better than any novel. I'm not sure that Don is still reading this thread, but if you are...thanks for the good read. I read that you are sailing the Sun on its first cruise back in the states. I'm sailing on the 29th of Oct. so I'd love to read about any tips you have for this ship. I feel like I could walk right onto the Epic without a map and be right at home.
