  1. Right now Vista is not showing for booking between now and July 9th.  Official word is they are fully booked but I looked a couple of days ago and there were cabins.  I am thinking they are just covering their bases in case they have to do more than just fix as they go.  I have one booked July 16th so I am keeping my fingers crossed we get to go.

  2. Different question - I am listed as choice because it has been a few years since I have sailed with RCCL, but still get occasional casino offers and got one I couldn't pass up for next month.  If I earn enough points to become prime, does that happen immediately on that cruise?  Or does it take effect the next cruise I take? (mostly wanting to know if I can start getting free drinks instead of paying $10-12 for my favorites lol)

Our first Elite cruise was advertised.  We took our port parking ticket (pay on the way out) and casino cage gave us cash to pay for parking.  Liquor and mixers in cabin upon arrival.  Card in room requesting we stop by the casino on boarding day, I think between 1:30 and 3:30.  There was always a line, but the casino is the best place on the ship to watch football.  Our excursion tickets were delivered on the first evening.  Since I played a lot, they upgraded these from the regular dolphin swim to the VIP one, which includes lunch at Ocean World.  They sent us to the Steakhouse one night, which included a bottle of wine up to $40.  We had gifts every day, ranging from an Elite key chain to a fantastic fruit basket with wine.  There was usually one drawing per day limited to Elite players, and they would draw three to four names.  Mine was never called, though I ended with 12,000 points.  I did win two small jackpots, and the tax forms were delivered to my cabin on the last evening along with a complimentary balcony certificate.  The casino was always busy, but never had trouble finding a game to play.  Smoking was much more limited.  No smoking in casino when it wasn’t open, and they enforced no smoking unless playing.  Masks were required, with a sip or puff then cover  rule requiring you to wear a mask nearly all the time.  Happy to answer any questions.

Thank you so much!  Were there other games (similar to those in premier, ultra etc) for elite only?  Are there any other casino cruise offers at the same time (in other words are there elite and ultra or anything like that).

What post-pandemic world are you referring to?

This pandemic is far from over. I'm looking at 2023 earliest!

Simply mean I am curious how the emails have changed since the shutdown.  I am cruising in August and am interested in what those cruising now are seeing.

Thank you for the info cowboy$fan

laumicmah - if I view that post on my computer it is normal (sort of) but on my phone it lists one letter at a time, I am guessing that is what you are seeing.  Something with the formatting from cutting and pasting.

  5. I don’t remember them having the gluten free buns at guys , but it has been a few years since I have had it. I didn’t have any problems with the fries (dedicated fryer and when asked they said it was gluten free) but my problem w gluten is sensitivity not celiac. If he is celiac I would ask on the ship to speak to a chef to confirm

  6. For anyone who is 2 weeks out and ready to complete their check in - can you share what is asked? I am hearing that is where some folks indicated they required oxygen then later they were canceled bc they are considered high risk. I am curious what other health questions are asked. (I’m referring to the check in 2 weeks out, not the health questions 3 days prior to boarding).

The Points Guy had an opinion article mentioning that if DeSantis wins his case against the CDC, Alaskan cruising will be halted.

    https://thepointsguy.com/news/florida-cruise-lawsuit-alaska-impact/

Right now, the judge has issued a temporary injunction against the CDC in this case, and a final ruling could come mid July.

I think where the cruise lines are safe in Alaska with the way the judge wrote his ruling is he specifically says it is a ruling about Florida only.  Also he states something to the effect of the CSO still being guidance (so how I think the cruise lines will argue it, is that the CSO still exists, so they can what they need from the CDC to sail and meet the requirements of the bill that was passed)

At least that is my positive spin on things, I pray our cruise still happens.

It is still possible to view the print documents screen for your cruise.

    1. Login to your Carnival.com account.

    2. Enter the following on the command line in your browser:

    https://www.carnival.com/booked/document?BookingNumber=ABC123&IsPrintLuggageTagsSelected=true&IsPrintPassFlightSelected=false&IsPrintCruiseInfoSelected=true

    3. Edit the line shown above by replacing the ABC123 in the example with your booking number. Must use capitals for the letters, and a round character is a zero not the 16th letter of the alphabet. Don't add any spaces or change any character in the line.

    4. Push enter. There will be no drum roll, but The documents will appear.

    5. You're Welcome!

Thanks so much for this!  I was mostly wondering if the fine print had changed at all ... looks like there have been two sections added since I looked at them about a month ago.  Not much in them though:

Have Fun. Be Safe. Our protocols and procedures will be designed to maximize the health and safety of our guests and crew while delivering a fun and memorable vacation experience. Please visit COVID-19 Legal Notices for more information.

CHECK-IN AND ARRIVAL APPOINTMENT Please arrive promptly, within your Arrival Appointment to reduce your wait time in line. All guests must be onboard for Final Boarding time or they will not be permitted to sail.

So odder still it was being bought for my date as recently as last friday. Why would they sell it if it wasnt going to be honored after what John said. The beards need to get on the same page.

They are still selling it for our August 3rd cruise, but took away priority boarding.  I don't think the left hand knows what the right hand is doing.

I'd like to see a quote of exactly what john said, not people summing it up. Hard to know without reading the wording to me.

Either they need to refund the cost of FTTF or honor it. Cant say oh sorry it's no good without a refund. I guess I could try and find his blog, but he doesnt interest me much. His was probably a blanket statement. My roll call wants to know lol.

This was in response to a post someone had put on his page.  His words "Good morning, we should not be selling faster to the fun and it needs to be removed from the website which I will definitely look at today. I promise you that we are going to get loyalty priority boarding back as soon as possible and thank you all so much for your patience.  I will take care of this and thank you for bringing it to my attention. Cheers and hope to see you soon"

That is the quote about how they should not have FTTF showing on July cruises.  He did answer somewhere about refunding FTTF.

Just learned today that we get about 3 extra hours in Ketchikan and then a "fun day at sea" after they took out Victoria. This is for the Carnival Spirit in September 2021.

They made the same change to ours on the Miracle in August.  I am excited because we did only have about 6 hours there.  Now we have 8 or 9 hours in each port, very exciting!

I too took advantage of the free balcony offer, but I never saw anything (and still don't) about a vac requirement.  I am vacinated, so not really concerned but where are you guys seeing this requirement?  I've searched the Carnival website as well as my offer and all I can find is a reference to the CDC......but the CDC does not specifically state anything about Alaska.

    So what am I missing?!!!!

Here is a link to the release.
