Received 3/23, 3/28 and 4/04 cruise FCC's three weeks ago.

    Received 4/12 and 4/30 cruise FCC's today.

Waiting on FCC's for 5/11, 5/22 and 5/29 cruises still.

All cancelled by Celebrity on 3/13.

Not one penny of taxes or port fees.

Have 4 new bookings on hold with taxes and port fees (in addition to FCC) due by 5/20.

REALLY wish they would give me the cancelled cruise fees before I have to pay for the new ones !!!

Looks like the refunds are running AT LEAST 6 weeks behind the FCC.

Has anyone received the taxes and port fees for any cruise on or after 3/23 yet?

Yes, received port taxes and fees early this week for an April Edge cancellation. Already had FCC. No pre-paid gratuities yet.

  2. We were scheduled for an April Cruise on the Edge and it was cancelled. We also subsequently re-booked on the Equinox for June 28 with FCC of 125%(courtesy hold with down payment due May 31)which had been received. We were first refunded Specialty dining. Early this week we received port charges/taxes credited to our Amex card. We still haven't received our pre-paid gratuities but when our TA contacted them she was notified yesterday that we should receive them within 2 weeks.  Hopefully we will have a successful re-booking.

  3. I had sent an e-mail  on 3/22 to the Captain's Club Celebrity Engagement Center for our cancelled 4/5 sailing on the Edge. I received an e-mail yesterday for me to call with the number given. I called today and got another representative apparently in that department. She indicated that we should receive refunds for taxes and gratuities in approximately one month from the 4/5 sailing date. The 125% offer would also be provided in the form of credit to me or the Travel agent for our already booked cruise on The Equinox on 6/23. If this materializes and all is well by then we hope to cruise with our youngest grandchildren prior to the 20-21  school year. 🛳️slow boat to🏝️???

  4. We just celebrated our 50th anniversary on the Equinox this past August. We were booked in a regular balcony, moved to a sunset balcony but when prices were lowered we ended up in an Aqua spa balcony. The ship has been partially revolutionized and we certainly enjoyed the whole cruise especially good entertainment and dining. Since we were in the Aqua balcony our assigned dining venue was Blu. Food and service was exceptional.  We have been on various Celebrity ships and have enjoyed all of them. We now have the Edge booked for April and the pics and venues do appear to be edgy but I'm sure we will enjoy it. I found after we booked that anytime dining does allow visits to 4 different dining rooms. Enjoy your cruise.

    Also on that sailing.

Just moved to a Sunset Balcony. We had one on Holland previously and enjoyed it. Hope this won't be a bumpy ride, only seasick☹️ once before on a prior Carnival cruise and It was"Green Eggs and Ham" for breakfast with the youngest grand kids.🙂

Really nice inside cabin!  Seems like a lot of space and storage.  Like the décor.  We used to sail every august 10 or 12, but apparently that week seems to be used for charters, so not sure if/when we will sail on her again.  Liked sailing from NJ and that is our only summer week to sail.  Going on the Equinox this August.  However we will be sailing from Florida.  Ironically the cost of a SS is cheaper, but you have to purchase air to fort Lauderdale- so a wash.  We also really like the S class ships.

The décor reminds me of our Edge sky suite-

Interesting! We sail on the Equinox on August 24th with air from ATL to FLL.

  7. We were on the Summit on a cruise to Canada/New England last fall that had 2 revolutionized cabins- interior and balcony. We were in the interior cabin across the hall from the balcony. The lighting was different as well as the storage space. The colors were muted. I am not sure that I liked that in place of the previous wood grain. The closets were totally different with a lot of glass and sliding doors. The bathroom was completely remodeled and we liked this better.

  8. Well, you get a bag of laundry on Celebrity and pressing of 2 garments. I have never used laundry on RCCL but there may now be a coupon for pressing a garment. Look online at Captain's Club and Diamond benefits on RCCL. I do know that the benefits overall are better on Celebrity.

  9. The Seaday Brunch has a special menu and is repeated on the sea days. They have various dishes that I have considered good.. You actually can eat there at breakfast and return for lunch as there are varied selections. The end of the brunch is set for 1:30. There is a Pollo fra diavalo and a filet mignon offered which are both good quality. There are specialty breakfast items such as cereal crusted french toast and sometimes special pastries such as popovers. Some pastry items vary from ship to ship. We as a family with cruising grandchildren have enjoyed these meals on several Carnival cruises.:)

  10. :(:(Just off the 11 day Serenade. I must agree that RCCL's food quality has deteriorated from even since the last cruise on the IOS about 14 months ago. We are Diamond but cruise on several lines and this was the worst food in the MDR of any. I attribute much of it to be the repetitiousness of the MDR menu. The waiters and other staff are doing their part but it appeared the kitchen was still having problems with the new menu. Being diabetic, one positive note was this cruise the best sugar free foods of any line over the last 15 years.

  11. We have the Summit scheduled for the 9/9/18, 14 day New England/Canada cruise. I need to find out if there is a port stop in Saguenay. It is listed on the itinerary but I saw a prior post from 9/17 that omitted the port call due to the ship speed /whale safety. Could anyone share any information?:(

  12. :)We were on the Independence earlier this year. We had the family promenade,3 adults, 2 children. There was a walk in closet.as well as 2 other closets. We needed to have brought more clothes. There were two promenade windows with bench seating under both. I think there were only 4 cabins of this size on the ship. The only complaints were the hard mattress on the pull out sofa bed and the difficulty watching TV from the sofa bed and the king bed at the same time.. The children had bunk beds in a separate alcove with drawer storage they and really enjoyed pulling their curtain closed and reading or playing. This was by far the most space (327 sq. ft.) we have experienced on any cruise ship and would book it again in a minute. Our TA helped obtain this less expensive cabin rather than 2 interior cabins.

  13. Just back from a cruise on the Fantasy. Mikey is certainly the most energetic Cruise Director we have experienced on our 54 cruises across several cruise lines. He seems to take a personal interest in helping cruisers have a good time. :D

  14. We just booked the Fantasy to cruise with our young grandsons for July 15th. We also booked a stay, park and cruise package for the night before. I did have some difficulty finding availability but was successful in finding one 1/2 mile from the terminal. After looking at a number and calculating the costs this seemed the best fit considering that the 5 day cruise parking would be $90. Also with the little ones I didn't want to travel for our 51/2 hr trip on the same day of the cruise.

  15. This is a big difference between RCL's Crown and Anchor and Celebrity's Captain's Club, no dedicated lounge, just a (nearly) daily cocktail reception hosted at one of the onboard venues. Typically Sky Lounge, but on arrival to your cabin, you will have a welcome letter letting you know the schedule of events and times and locations. It will not be advertised in the Celebrity Today each guest gets nightly with turndown.

On our most recent cruise on the Infinity, we were in a specific lounge for both the breakfast and evening cocktail reception. I was just wondering where cruisers on the Silhouette had experienced these. Thanks.

  16. There is a new lot across from the old one that went out of business. We are reserved for 4/20 cruise. I'll let you know if it pans out. The website is : sandlotparking.com.

Just back from the 5 day cruise. We paid $45 for 7 days. The shuttle over was good with a small wait time. This is a grassy sandlot but certainly adequate. It is just diagonal to the terminal entrance and next to the bridge. The trip back was a longer wait as the prior larger shuttle had to be replaced due to mechanical problems but was scheduled to be back in service for the next cruise. Service was good and the price was acceptable. The owner indicated that he offered good security and had a good relationship with local police. You may want to call or e-mail to learn more.
