  1. Hello,

I am a first-time Celebrity cruiser and our online check-in is coming up in May. Last year, when I cruised Royal, I was able to log in at midnight for the day our check-in became active, grab a time, and then come back later to fill in the rest.  As I recall, this feature was only available in the app.  If I logged in on my computer, I had to complete everything.  Is the same thing true for Celebrity?   Also, in the event I do need to complete everything, what documents do I need? I just recall that I needed passport number, general info, and emergency contact. Taking a picture was optional.  Am I missing anything?

    Thanks.

We did the museum on our own, which is walkable from the ship and 100% doable on your own. I have done cemeteries on my own in other places and find it gets boring just walking around reading headstones. Might be nice to have the historical perspective provided by a tour guide. Not having done the tour, I can't provide any first-hand insight on the experience.  We loved the museum.  Good Luck!

  3. We will be sailing on the Eclipse to Bermuda in June.  There will be six of us, including my two grandsons - ages 19 and 15.  This will be my first time on Celebrity and a first-ever cruise for my daughter-in-law and grandsons. What activities would you suggest for the kids on sea days?  Only the younger one is of age for the Teen Club and it is not something he would do alone.

With regard to the ship, are the cabin walls magnetic?  Is there a need to bring an old gift card to keep the lights on?

    Thanks for your help!

Yes to both. For CJB, you will see several 20+ passenger safari taxis dropping folks who are on cruise line excursions and on their own. That is the main beach destination. They will return throughout the day for returns. For Brewers, the driver will let you know about what time he/she will return.

Thanks!  We decided to go to CGB so I am not going to worry.  Leaving for cruise today.  Excited to be going to this new port for us!

Lots of info already posted in threads below… One -

There are two main routes in the open safari trucks. One is along the north shore to Zion Hill Rd, then up Windy Hill Rd and down into CGB. The other is over Joe’s Hill Rd/Ridge Rd and down into CGB, that is the steeper route of the two…

Thanks Blue Water.Lots of good information. Are there usually cabs available at CGB for the return trip to the pier?  We will not have phone service to call one.  And, are cabs as readily available to go to and from Brewers Bay?

  6. We will be visiting Tortola for the first time in November on the Disney Dream.  We love beaches, but generally don't spend much time there - so we would prefer to get there on our own rather than do a ship excursion, which I think is sold out anyway. My preference would be to take a cab to and from Cane Garden Bay.  My questions are:

What is the approximate cost of the cab and the distance from the pier to the beach?

Will there likely be cabs readily available at the beach when will decide we want to return the the ship? Just found out it will be too expensive to add international calling to our phones - so we won't be able to call for one.

I have been reading about a scary ride over the mountains to get from the pier to Cane Garden Bay.  Just how bad is this and is there an alternate beach we can go to that does not involve this?  A restroom is essential.  The availability of chair rentals would also be nice.

Would also love suggestions for shops to browse in - either near the beach or the pier.  A couple of hours at the beach and an hour's shopping time is an ideal outing for us!

    Thanks for your help!

  7. Just wondering if anyone knows how long the “tour” part of the Brunch and Sip tour is.  We have this  experience reserved for an upcoming cruise on the Oasis.  I am going to assume that the tour part occurs before the brunch?  I noted in the description that pocketbooks and bags are not allowed.  Any idea why?  Finally, does anyone have a copy of a recent menu? Thanks!

  8. One more question.  From what I have read, in the app, you can choose your boarding time and come back later to fill out the other information.  Apparently, you cannot do this on the website.  On the website, I clearly see my friend's name and our linked reservations.  Her name does not appear anywhere in the app.  Will I still be able to check-in for her on the app? Our check-in begins next week and my plan was to jump on at midnight and secure our times and let her fill in the other information later. Thanks.

  9. I have always loved the Cruise Critic boards.  So sad that people have left here for those other forums!  I will be taking my first Disney Cruise on the Dream next year and am looking for all the info I can get.  it is not just the Disney Cruise Line Forum.  I am also sailing on RCCL next May and there is a sparsity of information there as well.  What happened to active roll calls?  Those of us who are still here will have to keep the conversations going!

  10. I really enjoyed your port report, especially since we will be stopping there in May on the RCCL Oasis of the Seas.  Glad you got to do so much despite the weather.  Just curious - if you did decide to see the Reversing Falls, how were you going to travel there?  I also am not fond of all-day tours and prefer to do my own exploring.

  11. Thanks for all the great info.  We are buying Internet anyway.  So, I am trying to price out what additional benefits we would get with the Key,  Waiting for the Black Friday sale to see if the price gets lower.  Right now, it is $100 more than the Internet package for two devices. That is more than I want to pay.  And, I don't eat beef!

  12. Thanks for the feedback.  I haven't cruised in 5 years or consulted Cruise Critic in almost as long.  Even the boards have changed!  I just figured out how to access my old posts.  I thought they had all disappeared!  Based on what I am reading, I think I am going to pass on MTD. I am not sure if the friend I am traveling with would be willing to splurge on the UDP.  I have been reading that some things go on sale on Black Friday.  Is this one of them? I prefer early dining, but 5:15 seems earlier than what it used to be.  I need to figure out what will work best with the shows and other evening plans.  It appears that the shows need to be booked in advance and that you cannot book them until you are on board.  Is that true?  I have also been reading about "the key," which apparently helps with getting  the shows when you want them addition to an earlier boarding time, Internet, and a few other perks (lunch on first day) that I don't recall.  Is this worth getting?  Thanks!

  13. Looking for feedback on the Oasis. I am considering doing a 5 day Canadian itinerary out of Bayonne in May of 2023.  I guess my main concern is that I have never been on a ship with that many passengers!. Also, for anyone who has sailed  the Oasis recently, would you recommend My Time Dining?  I did on my last cruise on the Anthem in 2017 without incident.  But I have been reading about long waits for tables these days. Thanks.

  14. My daughter and I will visiting Bermuda on a cruise from April 22-23. I have been reading the weather history for this time period and it appears we are not likely to have beach weather. Low 70’s/even high 60’s appear to be the average. On past cruises, we have visited Horseshoe Bay, Warwick Long Bay, Jobson’s Cove, the Crystal Caves, the Swizzle Inn, and have shopped in Hamilton (not impressed) as well as around King’s Wharf, where our ships have always docked. I am looking for some ideas on what we can do on this trip if the weather is not beach-worthy. I am in my 60's and my daughter is in her 30's.  Although I am in good physical shape, I am not one to enjoy things that are adventurous or physically challenging.  Thanks.
