  1. If you're platinum or elite you should automatically get the discount in the app. It should clearly show the 50% discount.   You don't have to pay full price and wait for a credit on the ship.  If the app doesn't show the discount, it's because the app does not reflect your correct captain's circle level.  I'm familiar with this because the app switches me from black to blue for some reason every time there's an update.  I have to contact askoceanmedallion@carnival.com to get them to fix it.  As far as I can tell, the only way to see your level in the app is by the color of the sea witch logo next to your profile photo.

I’m saying it took about 3 hours for StockPerks to initially verify we owned the 100 shares using the brokerage statement we manually uploaded using the Alinea option. Once we got that verification, we went back into the StockPerks app and the “Redeem Perk” link was now active so we could proceed to the next step as described in post 187. After we did that, it took a full 5 business days for the SOBC to be posted to our booking.

Got it, thanks.  It's taking a lot longer to verify for us, but this is Thanksgiving week so maybe that's slowing things down.  I did see on the acknowledgement email they sent that it would take up to two business days to verify the stock ownership.  I don't remember which day I uploaded it so I'll give it until Tuesday and then email it over.  Thanks for your insight.

That’s fine. If you look at post #119, that will explain the Alinea option. So have you received an email notification back yet from StockPerks confirming your shares have been verified? For us it took about 3 hours. See post #187 to see what the next step is.

Are you saying that it took about 3 hours from when you uploaded your statement on Stockperks to when you got notification that it was verified?  I did mine earlier this week and it still says it is being processed.  We're sailing on Jan. 4 so time is getting short.  From what I can tell you can't go back in and connect to the brokerage account once you upload a statement but it hasn't been verified yet.  I wonder if I should fax it to them?

On the current app, is anyone having difficulties completing their order for their actual medallion?  We just booked a cruise fairly last-minute (sails 1/4/24) and I get an error message saying there seems to be a problem with the service, try again later.  I'm trying to have them shipped to my home in the US.  I also tried the web version in the personalizer and had the same result.

Well, never mind, I guess.  We added our address again using the same address but with my husband's name and it took this time.  I guess it just didn't want to recognize our address that was already in there.  Such a fun app!

You evidently haven't read the preceding posts. I have both an older Kindle e-Reader and a Kindle Fire and you can't just say "Kindle", you must be more specific.

Kindle e-Readers do not connect well to the ship's WiFi as they won't go through the authentication protocol with the antiquated browser.

Kindle Fire devices do connect to the ship's Wifi with no difficulty at all.

Can you please explain the exact settings you use to connect your kindle fire to the ship’s WiFi? ie, airplane mode on etc. I’m currently on the Royal and can’t seem to connect my kindle fire.   Thanks

I think I read that all the ships now have converted to the Lavazza coffee.

Unfortunately not the Royal, which we are currently on. We confirmed today with the food and beverage manager that they have not converted yet.

I have booked a suite next year on Discovery Princess specifically with the 360 experience in mind.  My concern is my husband and I both have food allergies so have avoided any set menu meals previously.  My husband is allergic to alcohol and shellfish and I am allergic to mushrooms.  2 of those seem pretty uncommon and all seem common for fancier meals.  Will we have enough options or will we be doing the 360 experience and following up with a trip to the buffet so we actually get a meal?

My husband is allergic to shellfish and neither of us drinks and it was no problem at all. You should still get plenty to eat. And the nonalcoholic drinks were absolutely delicious.

I know there is a jogging track on the sky deck but it has full Sun exposure.  Is there another area of the ship that has a walking track/area that is covered?  My wife and I always like to do long walks after eating lunch or dinner.  Thanks!

Unfortunately there is not. I liked the Enchanted when we were on it for a TA last March, but I sorely missed a promenade walking track. The upper deck was in full sun and very windy. Hold on to your hat!

Dumb question, I'm sure the answer is yes.  Do they have staplers at the check in desk (Seattle) to attach your print-out luggage tags to the suitcases?  I don't want to have those paper tags on there for our airline flight into Seattle.  And we won't be traveling with a stapler.

By the time you get to the check in desk you’ll have passed where you drop off your luggage. All you’ll have with you at that point are carry ons.

I don’t know if the curbside luggage people have staplers.  We put our tags in plastic holders and attach them before we are curbside.

It says order at least 13 days before sailing.  However, I usually receive them about 10 days before sailing.

I tried to change one to have it shipped instead.  Cancelled the pickup at port on both. Then, when I tried to order them to be shipped, my only option was to pick up at port.  I wanted to pay $10. The shipping option was grayed out.  I had the standard fare.

So, this was in August, in the middle of a lot of changes.

If you try it, let us know what happens.

Were you able to pick up at the port with no issues?

If that’s the worst case scenario, ie it won’t let me change to ship instead of pick up, then I’m no worse off than I am now and I may as well give it a shot. I just don’t want it to mess things up in ways I can’t anticipate.

  12. What is the cut off for changing your medallion order to shipping instead of port pick up?  AFAIK you have to cancel the existing order and place a new one.  Is it 2 weeks prior to sailing?  We sail on the 23rd from Seattle and I'm debating if I just want to pay the darn $10.

But then again I'm half afraid to change to change anything this close to sailing, with all the medallion bugs...

I don't remember seeing any Lavazza symbol on Royal Princess, neither in the buffet nor in the IC. Not my picture below, but this is the coffee machine that is installed in the buffet on Royal Princess. Coffee was good, strong and non-acidic.

Thanks for the photo.  How long ago were you on the ship?  I'm sailing in about 3 weeks and very much hoping they have upgraded to Lavazza.
