This has never been our experience.  They give you many choices of flights/layovers and you pick one.  For international flights I always use them(we used them 4 times last year).  The part that I don’t like is that you aren’t able to choose your seats when you book.  The best part is that they work behind the scenes to make sure that you make it to the cruise when your flights have been delayed and you can book it and pay for it when your final cruise payment is due.  You can call them and change it before final payment, cancel, etc.

We were very glad we had booked through them in 2018.  United Airlines could not get us there until the next day and although Delta could have, they do not work with them.  We called Air2Sea and they were able to change us to the Delta flight.  Always book 2 "one way" tickets.

  2. I cruised the Panama Canal last Oct on the Radiance.  I got up early and got a good view going through the first set.  I took a break for lunch and watched from other places for a while and then back up to the Helipad to watch most of the third set.  Right before we finished the last one, I went to the back of the ship and watched from there.  It was an amazing opportunity and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

    Indeed a  "bargain" ! 😆😉🤣
At $219 for club day pass.....No thanks.
UDP price ha ha ha. No thanks.

Cabanas 😆.....I will save that money to go on another cruise.😆

    What is Royal thinking!

Some one may still find the price appealing but not for us.

I looked at the price for Beach Club, but $219 is not what I would be willing to pay.  I was able to book it for a great price.......but lost that cruise r/t Covid.   I will keep a watch on the price.

Im a VERY infrequent poster but kept up daily until the fall when we had a bunch of life changes. Thought I wouldn't try to jump back in and re-read, but I started reading a bit and realized how much fun this group is and over the course of a few weeks managed to (almost!) read back to mid September and get caught up!

Jumping in here to answer @patattack--We did our first Celebrity last June on the Equinox (amazing experience) and our daughter was not able to join, so our son went alone--nothing at all was said at any point and it was super easy.

Thanks for your response.  I am also an infrequent poster, but have been on the boards for several years.  I have followed this thread since day 1.  I feel like I know lots of those on this thread............just not in person.

  5. Anyone have experience booking for 2 on Celebrity and one be a no show?  The price for 1 on the 10 night Ascent is almost $1,000 more than for 2 for an inside.  I did book the Nov 2025 Celebrity Ascent and I was able to get the regular 200% for solo on that one.  I looked at the Silhouette mentioned and I can either book a very tiny (really) inside room or book for 2 and one be a no show.

That’s a good idea. It’s getting to the point where I want to try some other lines, just to experience them.

I am finally diamond plus so I am going to try Celebrity Ascent Nov 2025.  I was going to email Ken this week and tell him if I inquired about the price of another cruise in 2025, to tell me NO.  I currently have Bella 2, Bella 2.5, Canada and New England on Liberty in Oct 2025 and Ascent Nov 2025.  I have never had 4 booked at the same time.  I do retire in May 2025.

Appliances used to last a long time not any more. I’ve been told to not expect more than t10 years on major appliances. My parents refrigerator lasted over 25 years.

I purchased a Maytag washer and dryer in 1995.  Dryer is still going strong and I have never had any problems with it.  The washer started slinging oil few years ago and I replaced it with a Speed Queen.  They do not match, but it does not bother me.

We're doing the Panama Canal in March.  I'm guessing there were no problems with ship traffic getting through the Locks?  We're doing a Tour in Cartagena with Dora the Explorer.  I've read how hot it is there!

I also was reading on the Celebrity threads that there's problems in Colon.  Did you get off of the ship there?

I did a tour with Dora in October.  YES it is hot there.  I was thankful I had a couple tissues in my pocket to wipe the sweat.  Our guide was her Niece and she was very nice and we enjoyed the tour.  I do wish I had brought my portable fan that goes around my neck.

We were in Cartagena 2 weeks ago.  It was so hot.  Be better prepared then we were and bring something to wipe the sweat off with.  I was so sorry I didn’t have my personal fan.  Even standing in the shade I was dripping.  I guess I’m not as heat tolerate anymore.  We got gelato downtown and that helped cool us down.  2 big scoops each and under $5 total.  Best buy of the trip. Have fun!

I was on that cruise as well.  Hot was definitely the temperature.  I wished I had had a fan as well.

That's a shame they lost their overnight because of the storm but sounds like they had a great cruise with some nice weather despite the storm.

I was bummed we did not go to Cabo as it was the second time I missed this port.  First time was during the Swine Flu.   The Panama Canal cruise was all I envisioned it would be.  Enjoyed myself to the fullest.  We booked a Royal Excursion in Costa Rica, but was back to the port by 2:30 and felt really bad for the buses that had great difficulty getting back to the ship.

Just back from having the new menu for the first time.  Our waiter and assistant provided outstanding service.  I was so happy with them.

As for  the new menu.   Usually one entrée would appeal to me. Served hot and tasty. But wow was the portion small.  You can't help but notice that.  The New York strip steak that was mentioned previously in this thread is very accurate.    That was the only thing I was served all week that was impossible to eat.  So I can not really complain.  Everything else I enjoyed very much.

I did not roll out of the dinning room,  but left satisfied.   I lost 2 lbs.   I am happy about that

Honestly,   I think I can contribute that to all the walking I did on the Oasis.

I had the New York strip steak twice on the Radiance Panama Canal cruise.  It was good, but much thinner than I have ever seen it.

We've been there several times but somehow we've never tried Nochi Cocom, which I know everyone seems to love... so I just booked it for Friday.

So yes, we're happy about it, lol. We weren't excited about Labadee. We're not beach people and the food is awful there. I don't eat hot dogs and burgers in WJ, I don't need them at Labadee. Give me good food and drinks and I become a beach person... hence why I like CocoCay and wanted to try Nachi. 🤣

I just need to change my 2 specialty dinner nights onboard now because of the changes but that shouldn't be a huge deal I hope.

I went to Nacho cocom on Saturday for the first time.  I really liked it.  Have been to Paradise Beach.a few times in the past but thought I would try something new.  I would go back.
