Why not Lift and Shift to Sept/Oct 2021.  You don't have to wait until Royal cancels you can do it right now and retain your 2020 pricing. Your deposit will transfer and you can pay the balance this time next year. We have already done it for B2B Rhapsody cruises that were to go out of Venice in September 2020.

The reason we have not already Lift and Shift is that we already have a cruise during this time frame in 2021, along with Fall Break.

I understand your frustration, we have a cruise Scheduled on Rhapsody(from Venice)  Sept. 26, 2020, so final payment is due in two weeks, I just keep going back and forth on what to do.  I don't think there is much a chance of it sailing, I just keep wishing.

I'm thinking about doing Lift and Shift.

We are on the Oct 24th Rhapsody out of Venice.  We looked at lift and switch, but the 2021 Greek and Croatia did not have the same ports.  We are wait and watch right now.

Hi Pat - always interesting to come across a cruise critic name that I know from past sailings.  Is your Rhapsody cruise a European one that you have booked for this fall?  We were doing a transatlantic in November on Explorer from Rome but were able to do the lift & shift for next year on the Odyssey transatlantic.  Is it Kristin you are planning to cruise with this fall?  If so, hello to her from us.  Hope your plans or changing of plans works out.  By the way, thank you for all the info about your Baltic cruise.  We had a fantastic one last August - enjoyed every minute!!!  Ginny

Yes it is Kristin and I cruising again.  Glad you enjoyed the Baltic as we did.  This cruise goes out of Venice to Greece and Croatia.  Good to hear from you as well.

  4. I am booked on the Rhapsody for Oct 24, 2020 with a friend from work.  We looked at the lift and switch, but between our schedules, the only one that would work would be Sept 4, 2021 which would be out of the 4 week window and is much more costly to change without the price protection.   We can cancel and get FCC, but would like the cash back as we are really unsure when we will cruise together again.  I really hate to pay in full, and also very hesitant about going to Italy in Oct.

Has anyone who lifted and shifted a cruise and was told the new invoice would be available in 48 hours seen one with the lower price?  We did ours just about 48 hours ago and I've gone on as if I'm making a payment online to see what they show as the balance.  So far it is still the higher price.  Just wondering how long it has taken others to see the price go down.

I received my updated invoice about 24 hours later and it was correct.  I booked over the phone with Royal.

  6. We had MTD on Harmony last week with 7:00 PM time.  The line was out the door everyday we went (we had 2 days specialty dining), but it did not take long for us to get seated.  I was irritated, and by the second day, I was done with it and did not return which is the first time for me.  The waiter asked us the first night if we had plans after dinner and we said yes, but not until 9:30 PM.  We were the last table for everything as he would comment this table has plans earlier than us etc.  I looked over it the first night.  The second night, we said we needed to be out by 9:00 PM.  I did not want to spend more than 2 hours in the dining room.  He was very unhappy and made it known.  This was my third time on Harmony, but I had Main Dining the other times.
