  1. Marilee ... How did you like using your cruise card for doing laundry on Royal Princess?

Seems like it might be more convenient?

Actually it was very convenient and easy. The change machine is frequently out of quarters and you have to go all the way to passenger services. And sometimes by doing that you lose your place in line if it is a busy time in the self serve laundry. So this was much easier. I actually started bringing my quarters with me but didn't want to do it this time if they had the new way installed.

  2. Does anyone know whether you still need quarters or can use your cruise card in the self serve laudry facilities on the Ruby Princess. In the past we used quarters but Royal now has it so you use your cruise card. I was wondering if they put that system into place in other ships, specially the Ruby Princess.

  3. We were on the August 16' 2013 Princess British Isles cruise. Once off the tender, and you leave the dock area there was a sign for a shuttle into Edinburgh for 10 GBP, shuttle was to the right of exiting. Since we were on a private tour, I don,t know, where they dropped you or if the cost is each way. it was much cheaper than what Princess wanted $69/pp.

    Thank you

  4. Two years ago we did the British Isles cruise and when we tendered in for Edinburgh there was a bus that took you from the port into the city of Edinburgh. This bus costs much less than Princess wanted for a similar shuttle.

Does anyone know if this is still available and if so how much and where it is located. Seems to me Princess shuttle was on the right after getting off the tender and the other bus was on the left (but it could be the opposite.

We are doing this cruise again this summer so any information would be appreciated.

  5. Hi Marilee, your hair would get wrecked. Sheryl covered hers before going in.

Hi there Len--I assume you used a bathing cap. Did that take care of the problem?

I hate to go all the way there and no get in; on the other hand I had to put all that money into nails and hair and have both ruined.

P.S. Email me if you get a chance, I would love to hear about your experience.

  6. Nikos of Private Greece Tours is a very professional individual who I had e-mailed often prior to our cruise. Our driver Lambross was waiting for us in Athens and provided a very lovely day. There were 4 of us in a mercedes taxi along with Lambross. Lambross really knew his way around Athens. We were never stuck in traffic. There was a protest going on by University Students but he knew just how to get around it all. We never wasted anytime sitting in traffic.

I think if you decide to use Private Greece Tours you will not be disappointed.

You can also see my review on Trip Advisor for this company. :)

We also booked with Nikos of Provate Greece Tours. We were lucky enough to actually have Nikos as our driver. This was a great tour. He just could not do enough for us. I highly recommend them, you will not be sorry.

  7. There are several glass factories on Murano, many of them have glass blowing demonstrations and all of them sell a wide variety of glass objects, from inexpensive small pieces to very high end works of art.

There is a glass museum on Murano that you may want to visit, as long as you're not there on Wednesdays when it is closed.

On Burano there is a lace museum, however, according to the web site it is closed until October 2010. We were able to watch lace makers at work there.

    Thanks so much.
