  1. Had a cancelled cruise in March 0f 2020 and was refunded as well as given a credit.  Just was wondering what the credit can be used for, I think everything but port fees and taxes?  Realistically we will probably only have one chance to cruise before it expires and the credit amount more than covers the cost of the cruise.  Could i use it for the package that includes tips and wifi and drinks (even if I don't drink), rather than lose it?  Also noticed it says something about the soda package only being for kids and was wondering if I could get it since I don't drink alcohol?

  2. Just a little bit confused because there's been so many changes.  My family was scheduled to cruise today (March14) on Regal Princess.  When I called Princess Tuesday they told me that I needed to cancel before midnight (9 p.m. west coast time) to receive the FCC,  so that's what we did because we were afraid that if we didn't cancel before the 72 hour deadline we might not get anything.  My question is, now that there have been some changes made to the cancellation policy, are we eligible for the Option #1 or Option #2 (or not? because we had already cancelled before this change)?

  3. Just wondering if there is a break even point for the cruise to run?  I'm supposed to sail on Saturday but would rather be refunded (instead of the FCC), however I can't see them cancelling (if they are going to cancel) until they're within the 3 days (when I would no longer be eligible for the FCC).  When I called today they said that there has been a lot of cancellations, so I guess I'm just wondering if there is a point when they would cancel due to not enough passengers?

  4. My daughter and I are leaving on the Royal this coming Saturday and I'm not clear on the new internet packages.  Because she is a teenager and is usually glued to her phone I really do not want to purchase the unlimited package.  As for myself I am content with just checking my email daily.  We are both platinum and in the past the free minutes were enough - are the free minutes still offered?  Also, just wondering at what age her benefits of being platinum kick in (she is 16)?, on our last cruise she did not receive any of her perks due to her age - which seemed a little crazy?

  5. I'm a big fan of Soundgarden and Chris Cornell and would love to see many of the sites (Black Hole Sun monument, the memorial statue, Soundgarden Park, etc.)  I have never been to Seattle but have 11am-8pm one day on a Princess cruise (Pier 66).  I can't find much info. on Seattle's public transportation so I just wondered about renting a car?  Will this be the best way to do it?  Are there car rentals close to the pier?  I also wondered about the hop on hop off but wasn't sure it would get me close to many of the sites that I want to get to?  Any advice is greatly appreciated.

  6. Thanks everybody - I haven't booked the cruise yet.  It's kind of my back up plan - I booked Alaska but unfortunately airfare is way more than the cruise so I will probably have to cancel, so I was looking at other options and round trip out of LA is much more affordable
(I know there is no comparison) but cost is a big factor right now.

  7. Did a search but can't find anything regarding Princess airport transfers.  Does anybody know the last time the Princess shuttle leaves LAX for the ship?  The ship sails at 4 for Mexico and I found an excellent price for air fare the day of but wondering if an 11:30 arrival allows enough time?

  8. Just looking for ship recommendations,  The Coral, The Island or The Royal?  Have narrowed it down to a northbound Alaska cruise in May just trying to figure out the pros and cons of each ship.  I realize that the Royal is one of the newer ships - just not sure how much that matters?  Princess is our favourite and we love the Crown Grill, but we also want to be sure there are a lot of areas for scenic viewing.

  9. Me and my 13 year old daughter did Scandinavia last summer and the British Isles in 2013 (both on Princess)and we loved both but preferred the British Isles. We really liked climbing the rocks at Giants Causeway, kissing the Blarney Stone, looking for the Loch Ness monster and Edinburgh castle - there just seemed more "hands on" things whereas with Scandinavia we went to more museums. Both great cruises though.

  10. My last cruise I bought 2 FCC, one for myself and one for my 12 year old daughter. I'm thinking of doing a last minute cruise solo and was wondering if I could use both credits (I probably won't cruise again before they expire). Would they allow me to use both since I bought them but one's in my daughter's name?

  11. We have a stop in Greenock and were thinking of doing an extra day in Edinburgh. I just looked at the rail schedule posted above and priced out the recommended trip and it prices out at approx. 19 pounds each way, the ship offers "on your own" transportation for $75. Just seems that in this case since there is not much price difference it would be much easier just to take the ship's transportation. Just wondering if I priced it out correctly (usually it's much cheaper to do your own)?
