  1. This is a good idea if you can't find one through Carnival or another shopping avenue.

I would do it, ;p but I don't know when I'll be able to take another week off work. Already have one scheduled for December. Too bad, too - I could also have a drink of the day on your behalf.

    Hi dm,

That would have been so kind of you to have a drink for me on a cruise on which I sent you! I knew you were a kind individual from the very first post!.... :D;)

  2. I'm hoping someone can help. I purchase a white coffee mug (the ones with the name and picture of the ship on the mug) from the fun shops on each cruise I sail. My last cruise on the Sunshine was no different, but it broke in transit on my way home from the cruise. Does anyone know where I might be able to purchase another one? (Except, of course, the fun shop on the Sunshine... :D )

  3. Another slightly different way of looking at it is not how many drinks a day you will drink, but how many drinks you are likely to drink for the duration of your cruise. Although 5 mixed drinks per day is about the "breakeven" point, if you have 7 in one day and 3 the next it's the same result. We just sailed Sunshine in June on an 8 day itinerary. I tended to drink far more on sea days than port days, but overall, by week's end, it was well worth it for me.

  4. To me, tipping is a personal thing. Some do, some don't. I don't think you will be treated poorly if you don't tip extra. That said, when I get the Cheers package, I always tip a dollar or 2 in cash on each beer/drink I order (except on the rare occasion when I don't have cash on me). I personally feel the service and attention I receive on the ship is exceptional (in most instances) and I like to recognize that service with a little cash incentive.

  5. Is the Laundry Machines high efficiency or regular machines? What kind of detergent does it take?

I have not sailed every ship, but the ones I've sailed have standard "household type" washers and dryers. I believe all that's sold in the detergent vending machines is powdered detergent, but I could be mistaken. I certainly think liquid could be used as well.
