We cancelled October cruise on Ovation on April 9 and received deposit refund on May 30.
We went Amex credit card dispute route on Uniworld June trip and received all monies for that trip.

For those of us that have cruises booked in the fall and not in penalty, makes one wonder whether to go ahead and cancel.

We have recently booked a 2 week cruise on the Ovation rt Athens on October 10. Much to my chagrin, Seabourn has eliminated the 2 sea days on this trip and substituted 2 very small islands. Would this be due to not wanting to spend the money for gas?

We have booked Quest Antarctica cruise in January. Can anyone give advice on insurance. Are there special requirements for evacuation etc. for Antarctica?
-
Has anyone sailed in a V1 stateroom on the Ovation? Looking on the deck plan, it appears smaller than other verandah staterooms. The bathrooms do not have tubs so are they smaller?

We were on Uniworld in October and thought they did a terrific job! Even numbered staterooms assure you will face the Nile when docked.

A friend of mine was on Uniworld first week in August and trip was cancelled the day before they were scheduled to depart for Europe. Basel-Amsterdam..

The CDC recommends a Hep A and Typhoid shot for travel to Egypt. Do most travelers get the vaccines?

We are booked on this cruise October 20, 2018. This is first I have heard of private dock. Book an even numbered stateroom is advice I read on reviews and your stateroom will mostly have Nile view.
Uniworld Nile gets very good reviews!

We absolutely love the Regina! The staff is wonderful! We also find the location to be excellent for easy sightseeing and restaurants.

We just returned from Quest and were assigned 703 after booking a guarantee. I was amazed at the lack of motion. We had no problem at all and I am very susceptible to motion sickness. I would not hesitate to book a guarantee again!

We have just been assigned stateroom 703 on our Quest sailing. Does anyone have any experience with this stateroom attached to suite?

Is it true that one cannot get a referral shipboard credit if Seabourn has offered shipboard credit on booking the cruise?

Crystal is a wonderful cruise line and all inclusive. You never feel like you are on a somewhat larger ship. The opening price staterooms are spacious, lots of storage and 2 sinks in the bathroom. The verandah deck goes all the way around for great walking. The food is outstanding.
We have not sailed Azamara, but Oceania and Renaissance many times. I suspect you would be quite pleased!

The Crystal Serenity is an amazing ship. We have been on Seabourne and Oceania. I would always choose Crystal in the opening stateroom. There is no caste system and simply a wonderful experience!

Is the cafe on 5 the only place to get espresso/cappuccino?

Is there anywhere on the Silhouette to get a good strong cup of coffee?

I booked the last Aqua class cabin on January 3 sailing on the Silhouette. Final payment was due at booking. After reviewing the thread on cabins, it appears cabin 1539 is VERY noisy as early as 4 am...under Aqua spa kitchen.
I have sailed with Celebrity 4 times, but it has been a long time. Constellation was new! Are there wait lists for new cabin? Any advice appreciated!

Crystal Serenity is a wonderful ship! Too bad Glacier Bay is not on the 7 night itinerary..

What about an 8:30 am flight? How early on a Monday morning??

Could you give a few hotel suggestions?

Does anyone know of a car service that will take 4 of us with luggage to Paris hotel from Honfleur?? We are debarking a cruise in Honfleur.

Try Crystal. The clothing is not really that different from Oceania assuming you dress somewhat for dinner. If one wears black on formal night and a little costume jewelry, you will be fine!
I have traveled on both and would choose Crystal with or without a mate!

New O ships are beautiful. Crystal ships are older, but are lovely and well maintained.
Food is excellent on both ships. We do not mind fixed dining and enjoy meeting people at larger tables. Oceania has 4 specialty and Crystal only 2 specialty restaurants. Unless you are in a premium stateroom, it is difficult to get additional reservations on either ship. We have had excellent service on both lines. Crystal service is definitely superior in their cocktail lounges in our experience.
We much preferred the outside stateroom on Crystal due to dual sinks and better storage. ( Just completed cruise on Seaborne Quest and what a terrific stateroom!)
Shows, bars, nightlife better on Crystal.
All inclusive drinks are a real plus as quality is good on Crystal. Oceania has a very over priced wine list by the bottle and a poor selection "by the glass". They encourage the purchase of their packages, but the wine list "by the glass" does not change on the package. It is our biggest issue with the line since we do consume a lot of wine on vacation.
Oceania air is usually a good value if you do the air deviation and secure the flights you want.
They both have good fitness centers. We love the promenade deck on Crystal for walking.
We would cruise on either line, but prefer the overall Crystal experience.
