  1. Planning my first Premier Cruise with $500 in Casino Cash. For those of you who have done Premier Cruises, how is the Casino Cash handled? Is it like an OBC? Thanks for your help!

I've had a lot of the same questions. I believe mine will be on my Sail and Sign card. I play slots. My main question is what happens to the $$$ I pull into the machine if I choose to leave the machine before using it up? Does it go back into my S and S bank or is it forfeited?

Thanks for any and all info!

  2. Thank you very much. Do you know if they will have our group of 4 stay together in the lounge?

I was solo but I think the people accompanying the other special needs guests went outside. Luckily that part of the drill is very short; just taken out to show the location, roll call and it's over.

  3. I can't speak about Port Canaveral specifically because the last time I cruised from there I didn't need to use the services of Special Needs, but I can give you an overview for any port.

The Uber will drop you at the same place that everyone gets dropped off. Porters will take your luggage at the drop spot. Then you go to the entrance and someone just inside the door will direct you to the Special Needs line or call someone over to assist you if necessary.

It's very easy. I can't remember if I have to get off my scooter to go through security (I do at the airport) but it is not a stressful experience at all. If the person needing Special Assist is in a manual wheelchair, someone will be assigned to push it up the ramp and onto the ship for you.

  4. What are they yellow chips they have given out in the past? I am going on my 1st Premier cruise in November on the Horizon. I just figured I was getting the yellow chips, glad to see I will be getting cash as I play slots and tables.

What does your offer say? Mine specifically says "Casino Cash."

Either way, I'm sure I won't have to work hard to spend $500 in 7 days (lol). I just want to make sure that I don't purchase any Cruise Cash if I will already have $500 on the S&S that has to be used.

If yours says "cash" it's probably that hand-held green stuff. Nice!

Every one of my Premier offers say $500. I haven't jumped on one because the cruise itself isn't discounted enough for me to pay for a solo cabin, air and hotel, and still have to bring more money for the casino. The cruise I'm going on in October (my first Premier) must not have been selling very well because my PVP called me with the offer and it's $1000 in Casino Cash. There are four shore days so with any luck I might be able to make it last most of the voyage. The offer says "$1000 Casino Cash to be claimed at the casino cage to be placed on your sail and sign card."

I'm excited and expect to have a lot of fun.

  6. When I was given casino cash I played $50 at a time and would cash out whatever amount I won off that $50

In the end I actually cashed out for more $ than the amount of casino cash given to me

OK, I'm feeling better about this with this comment. I get "free play" at my local and it's done like that; if I pull $50 to play and want to leave when I'm showing $125, for example, but $30 of it still belongs to the free play, I get $95 as mine and the $30 goes back into the casino cash pot. Is that how it works or do you have to play the whole $50?

I tried to ask a reservation agent since there's no longer an Ocean Club phone number. She put me on hold and came back telling me that casino cash was basically funny money. "You have to use it all up before you can keep anything you win," she said. "I don't think so," I said. "That's what I was told," she said. I have a call into my PVP right now, but what you're saying makes much more sense.

    THANKS!

  7. I love Fantasy-class ships. To save money on them I choose porthole rooms... price of an inside with a view to the outside, best of both worlds. Riviera deck is great. Even with a full window, I love being low. It's stable, even at the front with the portholes. The perspective is awesome, so close to the sea. The only time I have experienced any discomfort was when I had a room at the aft and the engine vibrations were pretty strong coming into and leaving port, but that wouldn't keep me from booking that location again.

  8. Can you tell me which cabin on the Glory you were in and whether you sailed after Water Works was added? I will be in 9281 in October - love the Lido, but have only been able to stay in interiors in the past. This time was able to snag a balcony. Very excited, but a little concerned that the cabin is now underneath Water Works and may be loud on the balcony during the day. Any thoughts?

    Hi Shirley,

I can't remember the exact cabin number; it was only four or five rooms from the Lido exit on the port side. I remember being concerned about noise because it was so close to the open deck, but... NOTHING! If I occasionally heard a cheer or something while out on the balcony, I don't remember it, just blissful peace and convenience.

When was Water Works added? I don't know if it was there or not, but my cruise was just over four years ago if that helps.

  9. I've been trying to get a hold of my PVP (soon to be ex-PVP) since 24 Jul 18 to get this answer. Does anyone know if the current Dealer's Choice - rate code PZ1 is ANY type of early saver rate? I'm currently booked under a refundable Past Guest rate and do not want to fall into the early/super saver rate category?

I'd like to submit a price reduction for my Jan 2020 cruise but I want to be positive I won't be thrown into early saver status. Obviously I'll have to do it myself since I can't get a response from my PVP.

    Thanks in advance.

If I had tried to reach my PVP for 4+ days with no response, she'd be an "ex" too.

Why don't you call the casino desk directly? The booking has to be done by them anyway, even through your PVP. If you get the right answer and want to make the change so you don't lose the rate or the room, I'd go for it. I'm not sure if they'd say you have to wait for your PVP, but if they don't, go ahead and make the change. You can explain later as you are bidding adieu.
