  1. Babies - fine, if you can cope.

    Zombies - meh.

The baby is now in college. Trying to understand why you pulled up an old thread to give advice years later? It's happening alot lately. Wondering if dates aren't showing up for some and Cruisecritic needs to fix something?

  2. Some countries (like Malta) require it if you're from a country that has yellow fever. You're not. Here's the CDC info:

    Yellow Fever

There is no risk of yellow fever in Malta. The government of Malta*requires*proof of yellow fever vaccination*only*if you are arriving from a country with risk of yellow fever. This does*not*include the US. If you are traveling from a country other than the US, check this list to see if you may be required to get the yellow fever vaccine:Countries with risk of yellow fever virus (YFV) transmission.

For more information on recommendations and requirements, seeyellow fever recommendations and requirements for Malta. Your doctor can help you decide if this vaccine is right for you based on your travel plans.

Note:*Yellow fever vaccine availability in the United States is currently limited. If you need to be vaccinated before your trip, you may need to travel some distance and schedule your appointment well in advance.*Find the clinic nearest you.

  3. Ok. But M-class ship are old (and previously muster drill were done outside and now inside, on the same ship (Celebrity Infinity). So if there were not changes, I do not understand why they cannot do both (half inside, on larger venues, half outside).

The "surprised". I was expecting (I do not remember from where, maybe also not on cruises) that few officers put some unexpected item (staging a person passed out, blocking some fire doors, ...).

If you do half outside, those people will probably complain that it was too hot and humid to be outside.

  4. I often get discounted room rates as well on almost all of my Princess cruises - I would try to see if you are eligible for a casino rate (be aware that some promotions such as "sip and sail" will not allow you to combine the free drink package with the casino rate but other promos do allow it)
You responded to a year old post. They already sailed 10 months ago.

  5. Yes after final payment you can request adjustment on your cruise rate because of price drops, or if you like a cabin upgrade. We booked B2B2B2 from Vancouver to Hawaii and Pacific Coast for Sept/Oct 2019 since first days of December 2017, we have several price drops and always have received the better price plus last time we receive also a better promo the summer savings discount plus extra OBC.
I think you meant "before" final payment

  6. Where are there therapy pools on Equinox? I only know of the Persian Gardens.

If the OP hasn't tried PG before, they should see if they can try it once before committing to the longer package. We're almost always in AQ and thought it would be awesome but I find it to be extremely boring. And one time had the talkers that made it boring and annoying at the same time! I've probably only gone 3 times out of 60+ days in AQ and never spent more than 20 minutes before I needed to leave.

  7. Just off the Infinity. Tested the water with a TDS tester.

    0-50 is ideal drinking water

50-100 is filtered or spring water

    100-200 is hard water

    200-300 is marginal drinking water

    Water in Vancouver was 75

    On board was 98

    Bottled water was 175

Did the onboard water test several times at different locations

What brand of bottled water? I know Evian has a lot of minerals

  8. I took it a few years ago. Assuming it's the same one. Drove us in a bus to a hotel that's on the lake and we got in a boat that slowly took us around pointing out wildlife (slots, birds, etc). Then we got back on the bus and went to one of the locks where we watched a ship go through. It was an interesting excursion. A little slow-paced. But I thought worth it. We were in our young to mid 40s then. Was in Panama again this past December and I believe I heard that observation deck at the lock was closed at that time.

  9. Don't you think is the job of officer to ask the situation of the passenger if the customer did't specified?

    If they really care.

Since he was being very vague, I would have thought he or his wife needed something personal like Imodium, laxative or a tampon. If that's what they were asking for and the officer started to pry, the OP would be here complaining that the officer was being nosey.

  10. This past new years cruise, we walked off Reflection exactly at 8:00 on Jan 2 (weekday) and were at the FLL airport at 9:00 with plenty of time for our 10:10am flight. Granted, I wanted to leave the ship by 7:30 but still ended up sitting at the gate a half hour. Booked the same flight for this year. Mobile Passport app helped shave off 20-30 minutes.

  11. We've made 10am flights with plenty of time to spare. Be sure to use Mobile Passport on your phone and you can bypass much of the customs line. And walk off by 8am. Airport is only 10 minutes away.

This assumes you're able-bodied and no problem walking your bags off yourself and grabbing a taxi or Uber.

One other thing is that I'm assuming you're arriving to Port Everglades in Ft Lauderdale. If you're arriving at Port of Miami, all bets are off.

  12. This is from the Celebrity website...

“We are developing a web portal for you to check your tier and expect it to be live by the end of 2018. In the interim we will be happy to assist you directly from the Blue Chip Club Office at BLUECHIPCLUB@CELEBRITY.COM, or 866-461-7170 Monday thru Friday from 9am – 7pm est.”

    Vickie

The same message was there last year and said it would be live by the end of 2017.

I'm assuming that if you're Sapphire but your spouse in the same cabin isn't, you both still get to use Michael's Club. Anyone know if that's correct?

Are you on one of the ships now? If not, you misread. You can see your account when you're logged onto the app onboard.

With this release, guests on enabled ships may:

    - Sign in to view their cruises

    - Check in via the mobile app

    - Make and cancel dining and shore excursion reservations, and view onboard expense accounts, when on the ship

  14. Why give gift cards to stores that aren't even in most crew's countries or ports the ship goes to? Plus they have very little time off the ship, if they even get off at all. You're just inconveniencing them or giving them something that won't get used. Gift cards are a horrible idea.

And don't think Visa gift cards are any better. Most don't work outside of the US.
