  1. Our trip has a overnight docking in Port Canaveral and we would like to visit Universal. It seems, the NCL Universal excursion is 6 hours long. We would like a longer visit. On the overnights sailing is there a longer Universal excursion? Does anyone know of a local shuttle to Universal from Port Canaveral? I can only locate a shuttle to the Orlando airport. The husband is wanting to rent a car and do the trip on our own but I just want to know our options.

  2. The casino free drink card includes coffee drinks while in the casino.

It seems the comped CSA sailings receives the casino free drink card but the discounted CAS cruises does not.

The drink plan does not include coffee drinks but you can purchase a coffee plan. A Starbucks go will not work on the ship🙃

  3. Those who sailed on NCL MYVEGAS cruise. Where the drink casino cards in your cabin when you arrived?

On my last cruise, I was promised a card with a total rewards discount sail but was not given one. Guess, the rules changed between booking and sailing. I was really disappointed and angry.

I’m thinking about asking CAS for an email stating, I get the card so the same thing does not happen this trip.

    Happy Cruising!

  4. Our check in time is much later than expected, 4:30. Can we check in earlier? This is our first time sailing from San Juan. I was planning on doing a bag drop off and lunch on the ship . We are guest of the casino, does that allow priory boarding? Thanks for this thread and the advise!

  5. What is the general opinion of the Ad min fee being charged by NCL that is not listed on the terms and conditions of the MyVegas reward?

I have book with CAS before and was charged the ad min fee and was Ok with it. I was told upfront and the amount was clear before purchase. But, not pleased the MyVegas reward does not list the fee before purchasing the non refundable reward.

    Happy Cruising!

  6. Thanks for the question, mlshum! I never would have known about the cave. Whenginersnaps reply really has me wanting to go. Now, to decide on taking a private taxis or booking a tour. Guess, it will depend on the cost and timing.  I would like to stay in the $100 range. To bad NCL does not offer a Tour. Anyone have an opinion? If this does work out, guess I will stick to my town center/turtle plan👜🐢

Thanks again for the original post and detailed reply! Happy Cruising!

  7. Thanks for replying Signman, I have read back a few months. Guess, I was requesting opinions more than facts😀. I have a member of cruise critic for years and try to research before posting. Guess that is why, I do not post very often. Sorry, it seemed I was taking a short cut. Happy Cruising!

  8. First time on the island. Thinking about walking to the town center and then to a beach area that has wild turtles viewings. Is this doable? Any suggestions on a beach?Would we missing anything by doing this? The shore excursion did not seem interesting to us.

  9. 2 Questions. 1) Do you book the cruise before or after redeeming the reward at myVegas? Is the booking considered a casino guest booking with all the perks attached? Thanks everyone for your insight and help!

  10. Wow! You people are ruthless. You were not there and have no idea how bad it was. I was not there either but it appears to have been very scary and unpleasant. If the captain could have avoided it he should have. They were lucky. If the ship had sunk at sea you all would be screaming that NCL was horrible to decide to try to ride the storm out.

Agreeing. The return does trip sounds awful. My husband can see the pier from his office windows and we live outside the city in Connecticut. The winds were the highest I have ever seen. Glad, we did that trip in December and missed the drama!

  11. My family of 4 visited Baha Mar via the #10 bus. The bus was a very tight fit and they did not even shut the slide door while moving. A bit of a sight seeing adventure. $5 plus tip from the straw market area.

The resort was just amazing. Our group were alllowed to walk the grounds, use the pool and beach no questions asked. But we did not actually ask if we could either. We did not buy anything to eat or drink as you needed a room key for the charge? I do not know, if this is true but I felt the resort were catering to Asian players.

I requested a players card and was awarded $10 free play, a free spin on the in game money wheel ($20 free play win) and a fancy branded pen. Husband and I played VP and slots.

The casino was very quiet and not all the tables were open. Very upscale but free drinks were limited with a low players card. That was ok with me because I just wanted to try the local light beer and some water. The bar staff was friendly and explained there was a market put the street for room water and snacks for our next trip.

I played for two hours and broke even. Slots always seem tight in a empty room to me. We are looking at flights and planning a trip next month.

Thanks for the insight and helpful posts, they made my quick Baha Mar visit a fun one!

  12. I am feeling a bit judged about my expection of being promised a drink card (I see as a perk) and then refused with out warning after boarding the ship. Guess, I do not feel my issue was a deserving a house drink card but being promised and then refused. I would have been just as upset if my speciality dining or internet was refused upon saling.

I was surprised with the CAS generous drink card offer in the past. I am a low grade VP player and the points are earned at a lesser rate. This trip, I just did not feel the ship casino due my issues and played at a much lower rate than I have planed. It did feel great leaving the ship with most of my original bank for a change.

Anyway, now I know of the new CAS rules and will plan according.

Thanks for the help and commits.

  13. Thanks for the help. I did send an email to CAS and they replied very promptly.

With Casino Discount (10% Off) we do not provide the complimentary Casino Drink Card. With Total Rewards Diamond status we provide 20% off & we do provide the Drink Card.

But refused to address the issue, I was told my rate included the house drink card upon booking back in Aug. All NCL staff will only respond with pre approved responses but will never really answer any questions.

So, Played in Nassau Baha Mar and booked a trip to the Mohegan Sun for the day after this cruise.

I did play under $100 in the ship casino. I do have a bar tab under $100. NCL and CAS lost my bussiness on this trip. Darn just as I was turning platinum, too.

    Again, thank for the replies!

  14. Currently on a NCL Breakaway CAS booked cruise with 10% discounted rate from our Total rewards card. This is the 4th or 5th time using the CAS and total rewards card and always have received the house drink card in the past. But this time, Main Host Carissa said, my rate/booking was not eligible for the card. When I booked via the phone, I comfirmed 5 months ago, my agent confirmed, welcome party and free drink card.

I requested, begged, talked to Clarissa, and guest relations and they all say Sorry but no card. Casino staff said they talked to CAS in Maimi and I never was eligible for a house drink card? What?

Based on my past experience and the booking agents confirmation. We did not request a drink package as a perk. And to buy one on the ship is $700 each! Really feeling let down and thirsty!

I sent an email to CAS but have not received a reply. No phone service on the ship. Any suggestions? I never had any issues with NCL or CAS and we turn platinum after this trip.
