Bermuda.  Remember to bring your mask.   They are strict for the 50 steps you take in their cruise terminal.   Took the $7pp each way shuttle to Horseshoe Bay and it was a beautiful day there.   Rental company has changed--$10 each for chairs and umbrella.    Was not as crowded as I expected.

Did Royal offer this shuttle to Horseshoe?

I seem to remember that you had mentioned your plans to us not so long ago, memory failing me a bit.

 

You will see some fascinating places on this itinerary. Would love to go and see the Elbe myself, so far only crossed it a few times on my way to the East of Germany and Poland. Hang on, need to correct that. I have seen the Elbe in Hamburg. But like all rivers with a substantial length, the Elbe in its lower section looks quite different from the rugged landscape upstream.

Yes we will be cruising with Viking.  Since we have booked Viking renamed it the Elegant Elbe.  We are excited.  This was booked after our cruise in 2020 was canceled.

My daughter and I will be doing this cruise in July, Berlin to Prague.

We are on the Sunshine out of SC on Jan 17, 2022

Thank you for your replies.  I knew when we booked this cruise that it is mostly by bus with one day sailing.  We are ok with that.  We have taken  prior river cruises with Viking and have always been very pleased.  I understand if you didn't know going in that it is mostly bus to be disappointed.  

Hopefully, very thing will be back to normal.

We are looking at booking the Cities along the Elbe.  We have sailed on the Rhine a couple of times.  I know this would be a smaller ship.  I was just wondering if anyone has done this cruise and how you liked it.

On my last cruise in February, I caught the flu onboard. I have traditional Medicare and a co insurance plan.  I also took out the travel insurance that they offer.  

Traditional Medicare did not cover and the travel insurance did not cover until I filed with my co insurance plan.  Which they approved the amount charged that RC charged, but went towards my deductible.  I had to send EOB from Co insurance and send to the travel insurance and they paid.  It was a lot of filing but did finally pay.

For the past month or so, there have been some problems with the Future Cruise Listing.

 

Firstly, Some people neglect to post enough details to properly identify their cruise and fail to return to answer questions. In some cases, I have been able to determine the correct cruise but this has become time consuming and making the job onerous.

 

In an effort to improve the situation, I have posted the instructions in the first post and followed it with the listing in the 2nd post. I don't plan to search in the future and am hoping that the 1st post will alleviate the situation.(yn)

 

I fear the first post is still too wordy, but hopefully clear. If anyone has any suggestions, I welcome all feed back.

 

Secondly - non HAL cruises will ONLY be listed for HAL regulars - people that sail HAL on a regular basis and/or regulars on the HAL board. That was always the arrangement, but it appears it needed some clarification. It will continue to be the arrangement unless it causes conflict on the FCL thread or the job becomes too onerous.

I'd imagine that they didn't offer the Cuba sailings because they thought you were more interested in the Canada/NE sailings rather than wherever the ship would be sailing. My PCC also offered me other Canada/NE itineraries but I declined because I really wanted to see Newfoundland and Labrador plus Havre Saint Pierre and Baie Comeau.

Received notice from our TA saying HAL cancelled our June 16, 2018. This was going to be my first HAL cruise.

Bad business.

FYI - I tried to book a cruise today for 14 nights, leaving Boston on the 14 July 2018 and sailing to Bermuda, returning to Boston and then onto Montreal. HAL informed me that the Veendam has been redeployed and will not be sailing this itinerary.

 

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news if you have booked this cruise.

We have this same itinerary for June 16, 2018 booked. I have not heard anything differently.:o

Just got off the Veendam July 8 cruise to Bermuda and have prepared this short review ...

 

- The plumbing worked perfectly.

- The air conditioning worked perfectly.

- All HAL staff were wonderful.

- The food was very nice.

- The wine selection was excellent. (We brought on our own :p)

- Stryker was his usual entertaining self.

- Being docked in downtown Hamilton was very convenient.

 

Will be happy to answer any questions concerning ship or itinerary.

I was so glad to read this. This is my first HAL cruise and I booked this cruise for myself and daughter. I was a little worried by some of the comment that I have read. Thank you for putting my mind at ease.

This will be my first HAL cruise. I have cruised many times with Carnival. I was wondering if there is an email address to check the price of your cruise to see if there is a reduction in price.

It is a 14 day cruise. It leaves Boston for Bermuda and come back to Boston and then on to the Canada/New England. We are so looking forward to it.
