We would like to thank all of you for the wonderful times we have had together over our 500+ days of cruising on NCL ships.

 

The last 4 cruises on the Jewel may well be our last cruises apart from our two “free” Ambassador” cruises we will be doing after our stay in Canada.  Even if they are not, I intend to let others take over from me in arranging Meet & Greets, lunches and dinners on-board and filling the Roll Calls with helpful hints.

 

We are uncertain of our future as I have a knee replacement scheduled and Pauline’s replacement, and her elbow, are causing her a lot of grief.   We are both into our 80s and are feeling our age.

 

I will not “turn-off” cruise critic and so will still receive notifications addressed to me but I will not be following as I have in the past.

 

Thank you again, bon voyage and I hope many more of you continue to become Ambassadors.

I booked with romecabs

Six people car was 230 euros 

It had been a difficult year trying to book in Italy. 
 

Italy tours said they are suspended any reservations at this time. 
 

Rome cabs which used to serve every where only working Rome. 
 

I refuse to work through overpriced viator

Can anyone recommend a beach day for our port stop in PV? I don’t mind if it is connected through a hotel etc. I can’t seem to get information.

What you CAN do is book admission + a guided tour through the Vatican (I believe the cost is 40 euro p/p) for the earliest time slot offered. Tickets only go on sale two months to the day in advance, though I understand the Vatican pre-sells tickets to some agencies. I would try to be prepared to purchase on the first day they are available if you want the best selection of times.

 

It's a good idea to familiarize yourself with the website as it's not the most intuitive. You have to pick a date first before you can see the various offerings.

Our plan has changed and we will now be in Rome a few days. 
 

I know I have seen this before but can’t seem to find my answers now. 
 

we already have Scavi tickets to see the underground of the Vatican. 
 

I want a different tour early morning of a small group tour. 
 

is it possible to do this directly through the Vatican or do I need to use one of the many online guides Carter 14 days of cruise tours we want things a little more relaxed and cheaper. 
 

if anyone has found a way to do this I would appreciate the guidance.

We are cruising this June. A ten day cruise with no sea days. 
 

we are using Spain Day Tours in most ports. They do not offer tours in Ibiza. I am wondering if this would be a good day to take a break and wander on our own. 
 

I don’t see much information about this port.

We are on March sailing with the same changes. 
 

While I agree it is not a big loss…. Why is it always announced after final payment? We have also lost SIX which was a big reason that we booked this ship. 
 

It is disappointing to have things taken away with no real explanation or apology.

Now I am back to having a dilemma!! Today I received an email stating they are pleased to confirm three tickets for my date. 
 

I had requested and paid for six. 
 
therefore, I will attempt to reply and let them know I already have the reservation. I am hoping nothing gets canceled etc. 

perhaps they just now are going through old emails ?

No, I confused you.  You do not actually write an email to them from your account.  Instead use the contact form on the Scavi website and submit your request that way.  Here is a link to the contact form page.  The email image I posted was meant to show what the email response back to you would eventually look like.  Do not use the email address listed there to submit your request.  Sorry for the confusion and good luck.

It actually worked from the email. I had used contact us form previously with no response. All is good now.

I also caution that I’ve had problems through the years using my Yahoo email for European correspondence. Emails just don’t show up sometimes, not even in spam filter. It’s one reason I created a gmail account years ago. The Vatican was one of these …. So if you have a different email, you might try it.

 

(by Yahoo I mean any of their many domains like bellsouth.net also)

Your paperwork has a different email. I am going to try sending to that one.

Oh thank you so much. Now I need to find a fax machine and one that can dial international!!

I want to do the Scavi underground tour. I do not want book through Viator and pay inflated prices

I have emailed (many ) as the website says. I have included all requested information. I have not had any response. 
 

A relative lives in Europe and phones me. They just said email and hung up.

We were on the Jewel last spring and the haven courtyard butler Fidel was so attentive to my mom that we are still talking about the experience. 
 

I am trying to convince her to take another cruise. 
 

I am aware that contracts change and staff is moved around. However, if anyone has encountered Fidel lately please share. This would really help her to get on a ship again.
