  1. Hello everyone! I started weight watchers the end of this March. I joined online for three months and continued the program off and on since. I have only lost 21 pounds since then but I am not watching my points like I should. I am looking to change that. My husband joined me in April and has lost 48 pounds so far. He is very good about his points but he is using my plan which is 26 points, much to low for a man I think. I need to lose about 40 more pounds to get to goal. I cruise again March 2013 and am hoping to lose at least 15 pounds by then. I wish everyone here the best of luck and good health!:D. Cindy

  2. Last year we purchased a "transport chair" for 99.00 for mom. She is 86 and in good health except knees will sometimes get too stiff for much walking, this is when we use it. It folds down small, is VERY easy to push and Very sturdy. We wheel her all over the islands with no problem. If she does not want to use it we don't use it. It really comes in handy though when you need it. Stores right up in front of airplane also. Last month on our cruise her knees were working pretty good. Lucky for me cause I blew my knee and could not walk at all on second to last day of cruise. I had to use her chair from that point home. I was so grateful to have had it! BTW, all princess staff help me so much. My cabin steward fetched ice whenever he could and checked in on me when my group went to dinner. Seriously, that chair is perfect for what you are talking about.

  3. Just off the Crown Princess. I never smelled smoke at any time except for casino and that was not as bad as I was expecting. So that was good. I do not have a problem with allowing smokers on one side of the ship as I think everyone has a right to smoke if they choose but I had a real problem with allowing it on balconies. It is tough when you pay extra for a balcony and have to go in because of too much smoke. On the deck it is your choice to walk on the smoking side.

  4. Welcome Emily! I did sugarbusters a long time ago, I still have a sugarbusters recipe book. I do not know about the "muffins" but can't wait to see what response you get. Kudos on the exercise! That is my biggest problem area. I am off to downtown Chicago tomorrow for a few days so I guess I will get plenty of walking in! Have a great weekend everyone!

  5. I am glad your all feeling better, not a good time of year to be under the weather with so much to do! I have to go to my first party of the season tonight, with me luck! Friday is the second one. Hope I can keep enough control so I at least don't gain. Thanks for listening! Cindy

  6. Weigh in yesterday, down a pound and a half. I hit a very important milestone for me, 20 pounds lost! Took me since Aug. to lose but it is the first time in about 8 years that I was able to lose that much. Now on to next goal, to hit a 30 pound loss by my cruise the end of Feb.. That should be doable even with the holiday cheats. LOL. I am glad everyone has fixed the leg cramp issue, what a pain. (pardon the pun) Have a great week, Cindy

  7. txmom, sounds like an excellent recipe. Does anyone know if you can refridgerate a cream soup and reheat? Like Cream of broccolli, which is mostly heavy cream and cheese? A friend says you can't, you have to eat it when made but who is gonna eat a whole batch? Cindy

  8. Hi all, I last posted here in August. Since then I went off Adkins to watching calories. Then my 15 yr old dog died and I used that for an excuse to eat whatever. Well I have been back on Adkins for about 5 weeks now. I have lost 10 Lbs and a few inches since then. I was able to get below 200 for the first time in many years. I see you have all done very well, I am proud! Thanksgiving I ate turkey, about 1 1/2 cups of mashed potatoes with about 1/2 cup gravy, a crescent roll and piece of pumpkin & blueberry pie. What a bad girl I was!:D I still managed to lose a 1/2 LB on weigh in Monday. :) I have a few more holiday events to attend and hope I can do better than I did Thanksgiving! My cruise is coming up end of Feb. I am hoping by then to lose another 15 LBS. Not so much for fitting in clothes etc. but because I want to do some things comfortably like walking and pushing mom in wheelchair. I keep saying I need to exercise or use my treadmill or both but thats as far as I get, LOL

I will start this weekend and do at least a few days a week if it kills me, and it might! Wish me luck with the exercising! Have a great weekend everyone! Cindy

  9. Hi all. Today is the end of my 2 weeks induction. Down 7 Lbs and

5 1/2". Not quite what I was hoping for but acceptable for me. I am going to stay in induction for another week or two. Don't know how far I am in Ketosis if at all. I could not find the strips. What is the actual name of them? Are they on the pharmacy shelf or do you have to ask? I know I have to eat more veggies but I don't like them and have to force myself.

Salad is not my favorite thing either. LOL I also need to start exercising.

Have a great week everyone! Cindy

  10. Hi all, weekly weigh in this morning, down 5 pounds. I am going to start walking today. I have been looking for a sugar free/low carb ketsup and was not happy with what I was finding in the local health food store. I finally gave up. The other day I was checking for some sugar free BBQ sauce and saw a bottle of low sugar ketsup made by Heinz. 1 Tb is 1 carb. I do not use a lot of ketsup but I have to have some for roast beef and if I have a gr. beef patty, otherwise I do not use it. I was very happy to find it. Have a great week all! Cindy

  11. Hi all, I just started adkins on Monday. I did it about 8 years ago for about a month. I am reading everything I can find to help me along. Can anyone help me out with some recipe sites?

Cerebella, I think you are right on with the drinking lots of water on a cruise. My feet swell up so much I sometimes soak them in ice water & elevate with ice packs in the morning while having coffee on the balcony. I do not ever have the problem at home. Last cruise I decided I would drink more water than soda and cut the swelling about in half or more! I do not like to drink water but every cruise from now on water will be my main drink. (well, maybe second to my loco coco's, LOL)

Hope everyone has a great week!
