That's really nice. I tried the other walking tour (Frommers) and we got totally lost. It'll be fun to try yours.
Thanks a lot:)

I love your enthusiasm:) Good for you, staying out until the wee hours and still getting up to go out with mom:)
Ahhh...to be 30 again;) I'm booked on the Imagination for May, just not sure if I'll be able to keep the reservation.
Keep up the great review.

BEACHLINE is that price minus the 10% for mentioning CC?
I don't believe so, because at the time I hadn't read that they offered a 10% CC discount. I guess that TraveLynx would still be a little cheaper...not that it means that they're better:)
-
which shuttle (there are over 50) is the best and cheapest for Orlando to Port Canaveral - specifically the Radisson. I want to spend money on booze and fun stuff. Any help would be most appreciated.
bolivar5599@yahoo.com if you are so inclined.
Thanks a bunch!!!
There's a bunch of info on post #295, but here's a few companies that I compiled for our Roll Call:
Beach Line Transportation
321-453-9660
www.beachlinetransportation.net
Cocoa Beach Shuttle (offers 10% discount if you mention Cruise Critic?)
321-631-4144
TraveLynx
800-226-5969 or 321-631-7777
Beach Line quoted me $28.50 pp and TraveLynx has quoted $25.00. Since the quote is for 1 person, they might give discounts for more people. These 2 companies have received recent good reviews on the Florida boards.
A lot of people have used CB Shuttle and they have return customers, but since their reviews have slipped a little, I didn't call them for pricing.
Certainly there are limo companies also, tho I never contacted them.

Does anyone know if any Port Canaveral or Cocoa Beach hotel has room that will accomodate 5? We would prefer one big room or suite to taking 2 rooms (more fun for the kids).
Thank you!
I've read that the International Palms have kids suites. They're also right on the beach. You can see their reviews here:

Has anyone used Cocoa Beach Shuttle/Taxi lately? I will need transportation from the port to the airport only (disembarkment day). Do they offer this service, are they reliable, etc? I was sent some negative reviews from a friend and I am a little concerned. Any info is appreciated!
Thanks
CB Shuttle has been on the opposite side of good reviews as of late. I'm going to use these folks, who've had decent reviews.

Hi,
We just booked a Oct 6 Brilliance of the Seas cruise and have lots of questions which I'm sure have been answered before. We would like to book a Romeinlimo tour in Italy, our ports are Civitavecchia, Naples & Venice. We would appreciate knowing exactly which tours to book and any additional services (guide etc.) that we should include. We have never been to Europe before and don't want to miss the "must see sights". We have no problem with 9hr tours. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
Welcome to Cruise Critic:)
If you haven't already, please visit your Roll Call: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1004977&page=6
which is where a lot of people discuss tour options and also organize their own groups.
My Roll Call has already planned excursions and we're not leaving until 10/7/11:eek::D
We too, have booked with RIL. After reading these boards everyone was very consistant in stating that a definite place to have a guide was for the Vatican tour.
I hope that you have a great cruise:)

Have you considered renting a van? I did this (car) in December and it was very easy. Picked up the car at MCO, straight shot to PC, then dropped everyone off at the port and I dropped off the car. The car shuttle took me to the ship. I rented through Budget and used code BCD S232000.
Try it out and see what happens:)
-
crossing fingers for mid dining room. How can i tell which diningroom we got or do we have to wait until the day of the cruise????
It'll be on your S & S card. I usually check out my table location ASAP. If you don't like where you are, speak to the MD, who's usually at 1 of the MDRs after 1:30.

I was just on the Splendor in 1A, 2217 with portholes. Holy cow, what a GREAT room. It was bigger then a 4A that my friend had and there was a couch too. There's definitely a loud noise coming and going from ports, that lasts appox 15 minutes...yes I timed it;)
It was easy to use the steps to the MDR, casino, shops, etc. BUT...since you're all the way forward, the walk to the aft adult pool is a trek:D
Enjoy:)
-
They are there on Carnival Splendor! :)
Just how cool they might be is another situation altogether.
Thanks Don. I know that they don't get too cold, but it's enough to keep some waters and the rum runners on the cooler side of room temp:D
-
Does anyone know if there are fridges on the Splendor 1A's. I'm going to guess that there are, but if not I want to be prepared:D
Thanks

I just wanted to share a hotel rate that I was just able to secure through easyclick. I'd been looking into Priceline and trying out some bids, so I'm glad they were unsuccessful. Unlike PL or Hotwire, on this site you know which hotel you're getting. This is for 1 nights stay on 11/13/10
Anyway, here's what I got:
International Palms Resort and Conference Center (Formerly Holiday Inn)
1300 North Atlantic Avenue Cocoa Beach Florida 32931
Total Cost : 47.21 USD
I checked TripAdvisor and one of the negatives was that the rooms needed some work. Otherwise, it's right on the beach and clean. Since I'm only looking for a room in between cruises, I figured that the price was right.
Again, just wanted to share.

We will have a group of six with quite a bit of luggage I'm guessing. Should we all trek to the rental car return together and shuttle to the port or should one of us drop everyone and luggage at the port first and return rental himself? Just wondering how the drop off at PC is and if this would be the most efficient way? Thanks!
My suggestion would be to drop everyone and the luggage off at the port first. I did this with only 2 people and luggage. I had to wait about 20 min to drop off the car, so it was easier for just 1 of us to be there.

..."far ahead??"..I have one for 10/2011!!!
Me too...Never too far in advance;):D

I've read before that you should go to Guest Services with a rep from each cabin to authorize that the balconies can be opened. Apparently, they only have a certain amount of "thingys" that they use to keep the dividers open.

Yikes! Right under the Lido Pizza Bar. No wonder it was Grand Central all night.
Of course, you've been a member of these boards for long enough. Maybe you should have know better...

Did Baby Bear have fun?
Nah...no bacon for his poridge;)

Shirley,
Thank you for your hard work and dedication to this thread also. You and Preston have complimented each other tremendously. To think that you've already begun to recreate the thread. Incredible:)
You're the best.

I received my updated invoice today with deposit and payment applied from NCL. The invoice said Promo Code PGSGL150 with the $362 rate ($462 total), looks like special they were running and not a glitch. Sure hope not...Fingers crossed!
I just tried using the code also and no go:(
This happened to me when CCL Dream opened up their bookings and for maybe a 12 hr period, there was a pricing error and they were reversed. The inside was the price of a suite and vice versa. I just sailed for NYE @ 1125.00 pp for a suite. A suite deal:)
Definitely sounds like a glitch, so CONGRATS to those of you lucky enough to book.

We have been to Half Moon Cay and did not rent a cabana. I don't feel like we missed anything.
We took the snorkel excursion and swam in the water on the beach.
The only bad thing about Half Moon Cay was the really long line waiting for the tender to get back to the ship. It took over an hour and it was hot.
Mark
I've read about the lines before. Can't you just wait to be the last ones to board? Unless there was a reason to be back on the ship at a certain time, why wait:confused: What are they going to do, leave you there:eek::D

I believe I got a great deal...I think. I got a 1A w/2 portholes on the Valor 8/30, 7 nites Western Carribean with taxes and prepaid tips $610...total. Did I do good???
