  1. T-shirts and shorts and sneakers are fine non -formal nights

Thank you! I have been waiting to hear that answer, I didnt want him to feel that he was under dressed but I really didnt want to do the buffet!!!!!!! Thank you!

  2. Thanks Everyone for your assistance, there are 14 of us and sometimes we will dine together and sometimes not, were a mix of couples and singles, so wanted to plan a place to meet if you wanted company for dinner if not don't turn up at the allotted daily time to meet. so Lobby Bar is the closest :D

  3. Have you considered looking at Carnival's website for this info? Specifically http://www.carnival.com/CMS/FAQs/Dress_Attire.aspx

I can understand someone not wanting to do do a collared shirt every night; the Lido buffet is a great option for those nights. It's entirely possible they won't turn you away at the MDR, but know that they might.

Thanks he just hates polos so our other option is jeans and button down he just probably doesnt want to do it every day! I hate the lido buffet so that isnt an option ;-) but well see what happens.:D

  4. I got the elegant nights down pat, cocktail or gown ladies, slacks and dress shirt , or suit and ties guys.

But what about the non formal nights in the MDR, I usually wear anything from skorts, sundresses blinged out flip flops etc. But what can the guys wear? can they were sneakers?, can they wear collarless shirts? (my guys doesnt do Polo) he can do button down and jeans but really doesnt want to do that every night, suggestions please is it ok for short, tshirt and sneakers?

  5. Can anyone tell us the Dining room used for Anytime dining on the Magic, even my travel agent is having a hard time finding this information..... We have a group of 14 in 6 cabins and want to set a place to meet each evening. Many thanks in advance for any information you all can provide.:)

  6. I think its very doable, my mother and I did one last year cheaply, we took all the allowed drinks wine, soda and waters. we spent minimum on ship, a couple of drink all week and a little unnecessary shopping.

Excursions we walked off ship in Cozumel and just looked around shops this way no money spent on food back on ship for lunch.

even in Grand Cayman another cruise we did the free snorkeling a couple of blocks from the ship we walked to it, had our own snorkel stuff and jumped in! I think it was $5 for a locker for your stuff.

also on Grand Cayman I have taken the bus and gone to Seven mile beach parked our butts on a towel, take your own water with you from your supply on ship, eat a large breakfast before you go and have a snack pizza when you get back on board. avoid Bingo, shopping on ship, casino and you know you can get the drink of the day in a regular cup for $2 less!:D

  7. Thanks again everyone were going with slacks and a nice dress shirt and I will bring the one tie he has I brought it for him for Christmas. If he had already had a suit I would have told him to bring it but we won't go to that expense for a cruise dinner. Thanks again everyone, happy cruising! :)

  8. Thanks again everyone, he has slacks and even a western style jacket and he always wears starched jeans and button down shirts for the other nights. but he will definitely be dining in the dining room as I dislike buffets!:D

  9. I am taking my BF and several other friend (their first cruise) on my next cruise in August on the Carnival Magic, I know he doesn't have a suit or a tux, he is a country boy, starched wrangler and button down shirts, nice cowboy boots, he has one pair of slacks that I know of and I can can buy him a shirt and tie, does he need to to the whole jacket/Suit business, cruise is in August?

  11. I have to chat it over with the BF, he can drink a bottle of crown no problem but not sure it would be worthwhile for me, i am more couple of drinks by the pool, glass of wine at dinner maybe one or two later in the evening. was really trying to see what others had done and definitely not trying to get one over on the cruise line could smuggle stuff if that was the case.

  12. We went in Jan. I also was a little nervous about the stop but had a great, quiet and relaxing day. We took a taxi to Dr. Cave Beach there is a $6.00 admission charge but the beach was great, restrooms, chairs available if you wanted to rent them. No vendors but there were a few men trying to sell pot out side the door but very easy to walk by. Hope this helps.

This is what we have done twice now, really nice beach, had some drinks, snorkelled around the pier lots of little fish, laid out in the sun, best little trip to the beach in Jamaica just grab a cab at the port it is feet away from margaritaville when you are done walk back along the shops and get your cab back at margaritaville, Dunn's waterfalls is great trip too but its a long day trip :-) you will get asked if you want to buy weed, souveniers etc but thats most vacation islands they rely on your business a simple NO THANKS and they go away. Enjoy don't let the few pessimists spoil your time.

  13. I think it will be hard to drink 15 drinks for days in ports and that's when I think the cheers program would not be worth it. Sailing from Texas we already have to purchase drinks the first night, card would be used for the next day, then the following three days would be in port off ship most of the day and then on ship for one whole day and night, with this program you have to take it the whole time you cannot say I want it just for the first and last days? Right?

  14. Hello everyone!!!!! We are going on the Conquest in 15 weeks im so excited!!!!!!!! I have a question will they open the balcony dividers?

Is it true they will only open a limited amount so you need to go the pursers

    desk?

Yes but only while in Port which sort of defeats the object as we were off ship most of the day, we had to go to the pursers desk to get permission, as the steward won't do it without permission, it was good for us that we could at least have a cocktail with our friends early evening on port days, once we went to dinner we came back and it was always closed.

  15. Hi,

This will be my first time on the Conquest. Has anyone ever gotten food to go from the dining room off of that night's menu items. Is that allowed, since room service limits their menu? I might like to have a gooood meal in my room one evening.

I am sure it will be fine, I was on there last week and to be honest I didn't think the food was that great either on the buffet or the dining room. Room service smoke salmon was good. The fish and chips are really good and they are hidden and only available until 2:30pm. upstairs from the buffet.
