    CRUISENEXT DOUBLEUP! OFFER
    Booking Window: July 21st – July 24th, 2023 11:59pm EST
Offer Details: Book ANY stateroom on any sailing and apply TWO CruiseNext, CruiseNext Haven or CruiseNext Lite deposits.

Offer valid for sailings beginning in 2023 and forward:
    • Guests must book at least 4-months prior to sailing for any sailing in 2023 and forward

Thanks, I'm good with the 4 months prior.  Seems like 3 nights are ok to book.  It's amazing how quickly an inside cabin at sale prices gets up to about 500pp for a 3 night. There aren't many 3 nights from SoFL; it's like they've said Coco Cay wins and aren't really competing in the 3 night market.

I don't know if the CN voucher(s) would cover anything beyond the cruise fare (+ port fees and gov't taxes). Maybe it would cover the FAS service charges. But first you have to find a cruise (4 days or longer) that costs less than $500 (fare+fees+taxes).

Thanks for the info!  If I understand the current promo it says you can double up on ANY cruise so I'm assuming that could be inside cabin 3 night sailing.  I found a cruise for 600 but didn't realize it ended in DR after 3 night sailing so would need to fly back.  So cheapest now is $952 for 2 pax on inside 3 night out of Miami.

  3. I think I can book a cruise in 2025 with a certificate that expires in 2024 but if something happens and can't go I loose it all.

The expiration date refers to booking and not sailing but couldn't rebook anything once in 2025 and certificate has expired.  Do I have that right or do I need to book AND sail before expiration date?

ps If I find a cheap inside cabin for 600 and apply 500 of cruise next b/c able to double up on any category with current promo, am I able to just sail for the 100 difference?  There aren't any restrictions on what the money goes towards; i.e. cruise fare but not gratuities and taxes?

    Thanks again.

  4. Hi all,

There's a current promo where can double up on any category which seems good.  Think still need to book 4 months out.

My certificates have been extended until 2024; I'm not sure if the rules are any different on extended ones, do I just need to book by 2024 or also need to sail by expire date?  Can they be redeposited back as long as they haven't expired (12/24)?

If I just want to try to cash out and find a friend who has booked an NCL cruise but not made final payment, can I transfer the certificates to the friend as long as they can sail before 12/24?  Or would they need to use the certificate when doing initial booking?

Thanks so much for any info!

     check-in windows (11:00 - 11:30, 11:30 - 12:00 and 12:00 - 12:30 were the displayed signs when I got there).

I can confirm these windows and small sections leading to one line after parking but before enter building.  We got in line about 5 mins before our time of 11:30 in the 11:30-12:00 "line" but there was no one standing in any of the lines so just walked right thru.  It was a very nice time to arrive, after they'd processed the earlybirds.

  6. Sailing with other D's can you take multiple cards up and grab drinks?  With needing to sign and prepaid tips not added in, I'm guessing it could be different than taking a few singles and cards up making a UBP purchase.

Also, now that they print receipts I assume servers happy enough to just get tip there. I'm old school with the singles but the young adults in our group consider touching money akin to checkbooks; archaic.

It's typically posted at the venue and the coffees w/alcohol are around $10-12 - not sure they would accommodate putting a second shot in the drink w/one voucher.

Thanks, I'm not familiar with seeing that, just the big overhead that has frappaccinos, etc for 5.99 or something and I wondered if the shot was priced out separately.  Not trying to cheat the system or anything lol.  I'm assuming they will take any iced coffee drink and add some booze to it b/c it's there and the cost will be under the limit. 👍

  8. I'm assuming can't use BOGO for two people to go to lunch (is it even open for lunch on 3 night?) b/c it's a dinner promo, right?  If tried to go for dinner would two people be charged just one cover charge (as opposed to both paying and being told they have a "credit" to come back for another JRs dinner)?

I don't see JRs excluded from bogo info but also not sure it's considered specialty restaurant.

Anyone had luck using D+ (probably for the kids) to get a milkshake without paying cover and dining there?  Specifically FOS if it varies by ship.

    Thanks again.

  9. Hi all, it's been a minute!  If at Cafe Promenade and wanting to load up a frappuccino with some rum and/or baileys or something, how do you know how much extra a shot is to get to $13?  Is there any sort of w/alcohol CP menu I might not know about?

Also, if done drinking or the night, anyone have any good strategies for getting something that could be used the next day?  I can only think of something neat and poured into coffee in the morning.

    Thanks!

I am going to guess that you have NEVER had the opportunity to travel on a chartered cruise.  Allowing “randoms” to join would be a nightmare for the cruise line, actually, since they would have to sort out different dinner arrangements, entertainment, excursions, and bar tabs.

Nope, and I'd think most would be happy to take RCCLs offer to reschedule, I see your point, just pointing out that there are instances where other lines have done something different.

The Oprah cruise was all female, except those who booked before the charter.  They openned all activities and speeches up to all onboard and the early bookers got a good deal and the men had a unique experience.  The couple I knew enjoyed it a lot.  I was surprised they didn't refund their money and tell them its been chartered.

  11. IMHO they should give those already booked the option to stay on the chartered ship, warning them of the reasons they may want to reschedule and offering them the same insentives to do so if they can.  The charter can be told there will be some straglers b/c you didn't book it early enough.  Holland America did this and a handful of lucky husbands got to go on the Oprah girlfriends cruise and enjoy their minority status.

We were there just before Christmas.  There were supposed to be two ships there and the other (larger) ship was cancelled. Since the weather was kind of wet we pretty much had the place to ourselves (until lunchtime that is when the skies opened up).

Out of curiosity, which ship made it and which larger ship cancelled?  I'd have thought big ships and small equally likely to make it since Coco Cay, generally has the same arrival times, and RCCL makes the call about docking or not or has standards both captains follow in those regards.

Maybe it's harder to get a second ship there regardless of size if weather is bad?  Or captains have some say over trying to go to Coco Cay on a rainy day or sailing a bit away from rain b/c guests might prefer drier at sea day.

That's interesting.  I would have guessed they'd cancel all ships if weather was bad, partly b/c of waves coming up over the dock.  (Would the shape of the dock and pathways make Coco Cay much more likely to be canceled than Labadee in similar conditions?)

So if sail to Coco Cay on Majesty size ship, more likely to make it than Oasis class?

I think shape of ship and surface area exposed to wind factors in.  We couldn't dock in Nassau on the Bliss once on a windy sunny day but seemed like all the other ships made it.

We're on Oasis in June and just received email saying they were switching our Nassau and CocoCay days to alleviate port congestion. We get a little more time in CocoCay as a result which is a win imo!

What date will you be in Coco Cay now?  I'm curious only to see how quickly the information in this link is updated and how accurate it is.

On the day we will be at Coco Cay, there will be four ships in port.  I double checked the itineraries for all four ships on the RC website.  The four ships total about 16,000 passengers!

The RCCL website can't be trusted.  What is the date? I'm positive it will NOT happen.  Again, they aren't even putting 12k pax on the island via 2 Oasis class ships all through 2020.

Navigator and Mariner.  Totally agree with your assessment as well.

So, the real question is why aren't they using the port to it's full capacity?  Stockholders up in arms, lol.

Three non-oasis class ships (especially if one is Empress/Majesty) or two Oasis class ships seems possible.  They could get top dollar on every cabana and beach bed option w/o needing to resort to much in the way of sales.
