  1. There may be a small percentage of us who spend a significant amount of time in the casinos but I can tell you for those of us that do, the dealers, supervisors, hosts, cashiers, and slot attendants can really have a lasting effect on our cruise experiences. So much so, in fact, that when I board an NCL ship I always look forward to the first night in the casino to reunite with familiar faces and see who I will be traveling with for the week at the tables.

There is always a lot of talk about passenger's favorite bartenders, butlers and such but how about we show some love for the hardworking casino crew?

Here are just a few of many fantastic casino crew members NCL employs:

    Mildred - Peru (Jade, Breakaway)

    Bekezela - Zimbabwe (Gem, Breakaway)

Franklin - The Philippines (Jade, Breakaway)

    Diana - Romania (Gem)

    Ioana - Romania (Jade)

    Alexandru - Romania (Jade)

    Razvan - Romania (Gem)

    Simba - South Africa

  2. Gotcha. This is the same one my sister received but sadly none of them would fit with our schedules. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing out on anything else! Thanks for the response!

Have fun in Bermuda! I went this past July on the Breakaway and had a terrific time! Let me know if I can answer any questions :)

  3. The pictures so far look great!

I love Blue Lagoon (and the wings) but O'Sheehans is such a fun atmosphere!

Does anyone know when the other ships are getting the O'Sheehans upgrade? I know Norwegian NEXT says when each ship is going into drydock but if the O'Sheehans changes are being made during sailings I was wondering when other ships would be getting them (like the Pearl, which recently had a drydock)

  4. Any updates for the Breakaway?

Julie was the most awful CD I have ever sailed with. She is disingenuous, and such a phony. CDs don't make or break a cruise for me but I do like to greet and smile at the CD whenever I see them around the trip. With Julie, however, I found myself avoiding activities just to not have to hear her same scripted routine all the time.

I know there are a lot of people on board but try to be a little less robotic.

Julie: "Hi! Are you enjoying your cruise?"

Me Day 1: "We're having a great time!"

Julie: "That's great to hear. Are you coming to the party tonight?"

Me Day 1: Yeah, can't wait!

Julie: "Hi! How are you enjoying your cruise?"

Me Day 6: "Bermuda was beautiful!"

Julie: "That's great to hear. Are you coming to the party tonight?"

    Me Day 6: Nope.

  5. Hey all,

I'll be in St. Thomas from 11-6 on my Eastern Caribbean cruise in January. I've looked at some tour companies that offer snorkel excursions but because we dock late, they are unable to accommodate us.

Does anyone have recommendations for reputable tour companies. We're looking for a catamaran tour (preferably to Turtle bay).

    Thanks in advance!

  6. Have used it on RCCL. Love it, also the only reason I got the soda package. I understand about possible the maintenence issues (could be why they are only on a handful of RCCL ships) but your cup will only contaminate your own drink. Another problem might be the potential for dangerous ice cubes on the floor.

Re: only contaminating your own cup.

That's false. It's not uncommon to see signs at soda fountains to ask that you use a different cup each time you want to fill up (NCL ships ask this). Even if you are only drinking from a cup germs can spread.

Cick mouth touches cup; cup to touches fountain; new cup touches fountain; new cup touches mouth of healthy person; former healthy person is found quarantined in his/her room the next day.

Theoretically, germs shouldn't spread if you use the fountain correctly to fill a drink. The unfortunate truth is that people do not know or care and germs will spread. All it takes is one contaminated cup to touch any surface and the damage is done.

  7. I'm just curious to know what kind of entertainment is a hypothesis. Do you sit in the theater and watch scientists work on their research and experiments? :D

This review sounds like a troll wrote it. I read these for pleasure, not information. Whatever you choose, you'll love, especially since you said you aren't hard to please!

  8. They are great and everything everyone has said so far I agree with. I always feel like I need to add this disclaimer though for anyone who is a light sleeper. There is definitely more hallway noise in these rooms simply for the fact that the bed area is right up against the wall separating the hallway from the room.

  9. I know it's supposed to only be one picture, but since I learned how to post pictures, I'm addicted!

    A gorgeous park in Skagway:

The Chilkat River outside of Haines, Alaska:

A tree I fell in love with outside of Ketchikan:

    Enjoy!
