  1. My husband uses a medical scooter (we own) and we took the arm rest off before the trip to fit into a regular balcony room. (It was a free 3 day cruise after Covid to get staff up and running-Navigator OTS so we had no choice in rooms). There are some travel wheel chairs that might work for you too. (Smaller and weight less)

    also-great review!

  2. We were also on this year Ovation Honolulu to Vancouver, and it did get cooler as we sailed away from Hawaii, I didn’t walk the decks towards the end of the trip because of this.

We had no issues getting on the ship, but we did have the earliest time and my husband uses a scooter - they let us go a different way because the elevator wasn’t working and we went on with the crew…..

We’ve been to Maui 3 times before on at least 1 week vacations, so we’ve “been there done that” for most things on the island. If you’re here, definitely go to the Old Lahaina Luau. Fantastic, but we’ve done it twice. We’ve driven the Road to Hana 1.5 times (daughters got bored halfway through our second time so we turned around). We’ve been to the top of Haleakala 3 times. We’ve ziplined (highly recommend Flyin Hawaiian), snorkeled, helicoptered (twice…Blue Hawaiian 👍), watched kite boarding at Ho’okipa (Wow). We’ve been to the Iao Valley and driven our rental car places that they are not supposed to go.

So what do we have planned? Not much. We’re going up on North Star this morning at 10:30, figuring it would be better to do in port than at sea. We’ll then make our way to shore and go to Kaanapali. We’ll walk along the beach path and see what’s changed with the resorts in the area. We’ll do a little shopping in Whaler’s Village. We have dinner reservations at one of our favorite restaurants, the Hula Grill. We are very much looking forward to some fresh seafood. It will be good to walk on dry land, although probably with sea legs. 😁

We had reservations at Lahaina  Grill☹️  Maybe another time-darn Covid.

    Enjoy.

Sorry that you had to cancel due to Covid.  Good to hear that Royal was quick with the refund.

We were sitting in an outdoor restaurant on Maui a few years ago talking to the couple next to us who were from northern CA. They were staying on Maui for a month. They said (at the time), it was fairly cheap to fly from CA to HI. The trip from the east coast to HI is so long that it’s not

something I would do regularly but if I could fly there quickly from CA, I’d probably go every year.   Is a quick trip from CA to HI something that people do?

Yes, a quick 5.5 hours….have been there a number of times, but most vacations lately have been cruises❤️🛳
