  1. We just returned from our Alaska cruise and stayed two nights at the Victorian Hotel. We were in the family suite (6 people). We had a wonderful stay, front office was very helpful with Resturant recommendations and getting us a taxi. A continental breakfast is included and free wifi. it's in the Gastown area, close to a number of restaurants and caught the Big Bus just a few blocks up by the library. Taxi from port was $6, a few of the youner ones in the group walked the 1 mile with luggage.

  2. I also booked this hotel for our stay after the cruise for 2 nights. Good reviews on travel advisor. We are doing the family suite for 6 at a reasonable price too. Will let everyone know when we get back how it was.

  3. Best advise is always....layers! That way you can be comfortable no matter what. Bring a packable backpack to put layers as you peel off if necessary. We are going in early June and I have fleece leggings to wear under jeans (if really cold or on Glacier days), raincoat, scarf, hat and gloves, all of which take up little suitcase space. I am going to bring a couple of capri pants for nice/warm days also. Long and short sleeve tee shirts, a fleece top, wool socks and hiking shoes. Nice black dress pants and two dressy tops for formal night with black shoes. Husband is bring dress pants, shirt with ties, no jacket .Just a sample, not everything but hope this will give you ideas.

  4. Babyeddiedog, it was over 14 years ago that we took the helicopter trip, which we reserved after we got in port. I don't think I would do that this year....there will be three other ships in port that day with us. That said....it was great!

  5. Last trip we took a helicopter ride, this year we are trying out the train.

The helicopter trip was amazing, we got to stop on a glacier and the girls slid down it on cardboard that the pilot had brought. We walked into a ice tunnel made from dripping water that turn horizontal when the glacier moved. Blue ice! Enjoy.
