What you will want to do is turn on Airplane mode, and then turn back on WiFi and Bluetooth. That will allow you to connect to the ship's WiFi for the RC app and the watch via Bluetooth.

Yep, that is the way to do it and save money. Two devices for one person just means 2 concurrent devices can be logged in. If you want a different device to log in, just log out one of the 2 currently logged in. The only thing about doing it this way is you do share one login and she could potentially log you out by logging into 2 devices herself. Not usually an issue when you know you are sharing.

True for PDFs. I was commenting on pulling up the results on a web page or app. They would have a time stamp on them that may display in the local timezone not the original timezone.

If changing time zones changes the test day make sure you print the results out while at home so the day is correct.

I had an idea what could be the reason for this. From what I hear only the 1st 3 Aug sailings have received this change. None in July or none after. I was thinking what engine wise could be a reason. What if it's an engine repair? They have an issue that needs to be fixed soon, but the engine is running now. When the parts arrive they need to take the engine offline for 3 weeks to perform the repair. That would explain how they could know it was only those 3 sailings. It is because they are scheduling the work for then. No facts to back this up, it just fits what we know.

For the 15th this is the new itinerary. Skagway changed to Ketchikan, some of the port durations reduced, and no Dawes. So far the OBC is the only offer and if I am reading it correct it is per cabin not per person. Just got this email for our Aug 15th sailing. It sounds odd they know about engine issues this far in advance and are unable to resolve them. I suspect it is more about the Skagway dock landslide. I've looked at mine and they cover $15 per travel related test. Worth taking a look.

Ultimately it comes down to what you want. Smartphones can take some excellent pictures, but they are still a tiny sensor with small limited lens. They use software to get the most out of it. Where they shine is is well lit fairly stable shots. Where they lack is in zoom quality, low light, and fast moving subjects. You also don't have as much flexibility in the settings. You don't need a DSLR. Unless you plan on really learning how to use one and plan on investing in lenses you should not get one. The above suggestion of a bridge camera is a much better option for someone who wants better pictures but does not want to mess with an interchangeable len system. The Sony 400 is a great option for this. Sony does well with their compact cameras. If you want a bigger step the DSC-RX10 would be a great choice. It is similar quality to some of their interchangeable lens cameras but with a good superzoom lens permanently attached.

I use to pack mine in checked luggage until the one time I had to spend a bad night when my luggage was lost for a day. Never again. I carry on mine in it's travel case. On airlines at least they do not count against your carry on limits.
