Thanks for all of the input, everyone. We are looking at the new X ship, Beyond for a 10-night next summer. I think we will end up splurging on Aqua Class and going for it. I like the look of the Rockstar Suites on VV but that spa on X is very appealing with the thermal suite...
Thanks for weighing in, everyone. Been a long time since I've hung out on the CC boards! Always so helpful! Keep the comments coming if you've got any more insight!

That's kind of what I would expect - honestly, I'm actually more worried about Virgin being packed with partying 30-somethings - lol. Not that I don't like to have a good time when I'm cruising? But if they're pumping out house music in all the pool areas? that would drive me bats😁

Trying to decide between splurging on a Rockstar suite on Virgin or an Aqua Class on Celebrity next summer...Really like the itinerary on Celebrity but the thought of no kids is VERY appealing....
It really looks like the ambience on Celebrity is more our speed....can anyone weigh in on what to expect as far as kids go in the med on summer sailings?

We are addicted to the Cloud 9 spa....we don't really like to cruise the ships that don't have it....go for it - you'll really enjoy it!

I agree that we really should have been compensated a bit better than $25 OBC pp. I also had ZERO notification from Carnival about changing my itinerary by a certain time on a certain date - and I certainly receive calls from them all the time asking if I'd like to book a cruise...gee...just can't imagine why I didn't get the call asking if I wanted to change my trip. We're committed to going on this vacation as there's really not another window for us to take this trip and we've gotten the time off, etc -- but I'm seriously unhappy about missing Roatan. It is definitely NOT dangerous if you arrange a transfer over to West Bay Beach and enjoy some of the BEST snorkeling ANYWHERE in the Caribbean. I'm tempted to call and ask for a better compensation here....I'm happy we were able to get into Maya Chan at Costa Maya since it's so well reviewed....but I bought my brand new tribord snorkel mask JUST for West Bay Beach :(
-
Costa Maya is a dock with a avg beach at best and that pretty much wraps up what Costa Maya is. I would be forking up the $50 administration fee and switching sailings
I'm thinking that without any sort of insurance....it's going to be more than $50pp to switch sailings....

Just made a reservation at Maya Chan....time to start making lemonade out of lemons....
-
I heard Carnival was having trouble procuring dilithium crystals, which might explain it.
:')
-
What is the cost of Maya Chan - just sent them a reservation request

Yes, I was really disappointed since I booked our Paradise sailing specifically for the Roatan stop😟

Looking forward to this review! Sailing on the Vista in less than three months -- can't believe it - thought it would never get here since we booked the trip more than a year out from the sailing....
-
Does anyone know how the "al fresco" tables are handled? Can you ask for an outside table in advance or is it first come, first served?
-
Bummer that we'll miss you! Cannot wait to sail the Vista!!!:D
-
Did you book Vista yet? What sailing are you on?? Would love to cruise on the same ship with you sometime :D I always love reading your reviews and how much fun you have!
-
I love GOOD lobster...from Maine...or from Anegada....so I will NOT miss this since I could never bring myself to eat it....
-
I loved the Dream and the Magic! The Spa Cabins are fantastic. I have heard several crew say they love the Miracle....
-
Belize is amazing....you'll love it. We booked our own excursion via Happy and Grumpy tours -- took a small plane to Ambergris Caye and went out with them onto the reef for snorkeling...AMAZING. Got back to port in time to enjoy a couple of cold beers before getting back on the boat...
-
Wow! talk about being in the dark about how nice the Miracle is!! We definitely must sail this ship! The pool in the Serenity area - is that a big hot tub with another hot tub added on? I thought I noticed jets? Or is that an actual adult pool to cool off in that is ACTUALLY IN THE SERENITY AREA??? If so, I am booking my stateroom even faster than I thought! :D

On our last Inspiration sailing, we went for a massage at a local establishment that came highly recommended - it was great. I think it's called Massage and Facial Care. They were very reasonably priced! We then took a taxi out to Estero Beach Resort - took about 25 minutes to get there. It was lovely! Swim-up bar in the pool, lounge chairs, view of the ocean. We had a great day!
I'm looking into going to Las Rosas Resort on our August sailing. Not sure if they offer day passes or not.
If not, we might just go get a massage, have a margarita or two, and then get back on the ship to enjoy a (hopefully!) quieter day by the pool!

Sharon! Don't mind if I do :D! I am UBER excited about this cruise! We tried for the Havana balcony but I think they are now sold out -- at least that's what the TA said! She couldn't find any that would come up to book. So we took the inside. There aren't many of those left for this sailing either!
-
Well...the bad news is that we are no longer on this sailing...the GOOD news is....we are sailing in a Havana Interior cabin on the Carnival Vista 11-day "Journey" from New York to the Caribbean to Miami. We have 623 long days to wait...but it will be worth it, I think! :D
Have a fantastic cruise everyone!!!!
-
Okay...well....just booked a Havana Interior on the 11-day from New York to Miami! WOOHOO!!!!
-
We were trying to decide between the Cove balcony and the Havana inside - I have the Cove on hold at the moment. Looking at the deck plan, I think we might go a bit crazy in the later hours with people coming and going from the bar....no thanks....

Any definitive word on the Thalasso?? It's really a decision maker for us when it comes to booking the spa cabins.
Trying to decide between Celebrity and Virgin for Med next summer
in Celebrity Cruises

Yes, this is part of the decision for us as well -- VV only offers ONE 10-day for the Med that I can see and it's in May. We want June or July so that may seal it for us too.
