We are doing the Baltic again next July.

Will do I have intended only to go for a walk in Tallin. Luckily we have the 19 day trans Atlantic straight after lots of sea days.

Time would be an issue as well then.

True it takes longer but the buses run frequently.

It is almost cheaper to fly international (NZ or Singapore) than to Cairns for us here in Canberra.

I always found it cheaper to fly out of Sydney. We used to bus up and back.

I just don't get it, how can a cruise line justify keeping a huge deposit while not providing any service in return...the ship suffers no loss, they will sell the cabin again?

I cruise all three but Azamara would always be my choice if finances allowed. Nice size, easy tendering, great food, enough entertainment..fantastic not to mention longer port stays and overnights.

Cruises originating in Australia have gratuities built into the price of the cruise..you have therefore contributed to the gratuity pool no need to add any more unless you wish to.

For cruises originating overseas gratuities are usually added daily unless included as a "free" perk. On some cruise lines you can ask for the daily charge to be removed and you can choose to reward those crew yourself in cash. That's it simple..

Interesting...no mention that they are actually doing anything to make sure these incidents cease. On our recent Celebrity cruise we were charged for water on the very first day...we hadn't touched it either. I was removed but still seems weird.

I contacted my agent yesterday when noticed prices on our Christmas New Year cruise on explorer had gone down considerably got a much better price yay happy me! Not so happy about the $18 a day gratuities.
