They will be available soon for another a fee. Rent-a-chair $10 a day.

Fact?

Isn’t this the tour company’s issue? Sorry it clearly spoiled it for you. Not sure I would have noticed.

IKEA is a place for those looking forward to furnishing their homes cheaply while young. Glad to OP found it interesting.

We tend to use the balcony as a separate room. With the infinite balcony, you lose that option. I usually like to sit outside and read while my husband watches TV. Or if one wants to sleep and the other wants to get up early/stay up late, there is the option of going out there and not bothering the other person. We both also like the sea breeze and the weather. With the IV, the AC turns off when the window is open. And you lose the separate 'room'. You can close the partition but for us, it still felt like we were in the same room.
Some people love it. And I think we would probably be satisfied with it if we were on a cold weather cruise.
Have you ever been in an IV?

Always book 8:00/8:30. No big show going on until much later in the evening.

Was it in the official Celebrity's correspondence, or it was "over-volunteering" crew that removed the stools?
When Edge came out there were no stools. Not sure they have ever been on e-class ships.

I think everyone is getting bad answers on the E-Class ships. There were never loungers on E- Class or above nor anything other than a chair or a table. Staff wanted to make us happy but it was never meant on E-Class.
Oops, should have said Sky Suites on E Class.

We wrote to the Executive office and had a call back the next day. Again, safety issues were cited as the reason with no further explanation. I then asked could she tell the powers that be, that if loungers are removed, could we have more comfortable seating. Even the reclining chairs and footstools we had on the Solstice Aqua balcony would be better than those horrible upright chairs they offer now.

It was a Sunset Veranda which has always had at least one. The balcony is huge. We were told no due to safety reasons.
I’m not sure this is true. When edge first came out the S1 corner aft cabins didn’t have one.

Are you sure these were always entitled to a lounger or did it just happen over time?

If you read Hawaii Code 13-252-9, under Part 3 "Ocean Waters, Navigable Streams and Beaches" it states:
"As incident to a lawful arrest, the arresting authority may take legal custody of any personal property which is the subject of or related to any violation of these rules. The property may be released only upon approval by the court which has jurisdiction of the case."
Which means that, just like in Maine where illegal hunting can result in confiscation of the gun, car, boat, or ATV used in the illegal activity, that Hawaii can confiscate the ship, and the line would have to appeal to court to get it back. The Captain would also be subject to arrest. Probably enough teeth to get their attention.
I don’t think Hawaii wants to lose the cruise’s lines.

I like technology. I like iPhones and automation. I was working with technology before these kids who buy Teslas were even using smartphones. It doesn’t make me want a window in my cabin. Are you saying that I can go to dinner on a Celebrity cruise ship and adjust the temperature in my room from my smartphone while sitting at the table?
Kids don’t but Teslas.

We are also VO fans. All cabins have a balcony. There are 2 specialty restaurants and everyone gets to have one meal in each. You can get additional evenings but I think the more expensive the cabin the better your chances are. Also book these additional times when you get on board.
The bar is small but rarely crowded and the drink package is very cheap. We like the rotating entertainment: classical, piano and contemporary.

We went to Magens Bay. We followed another cruise critic poster's advice and walked all the way down. It was much quieter. There weren't any chairs there but it was worth it for the peace. Then, we took the cable car. We enjoyed it.
It’s a 5 mile walk crossing steep terrain, quite a walk.

We took a Celebrity excursion to Meghans Bay on St. Thomas. It was expensive but we were using OBC. When we got there the chairs were side by side for many rows and you had to pay for them. Nothing was included except the transportation. I’m sure the beach is beautiful but not when you are sharing it with 1000 of your newest friends. Similar experience in St. Martin although that one included an inedible lunch. Next time I’ll research

We only ate in Blu twice, because of the menu. On that particular day, there was no beef, chicken or fish, that just seems odd to me. Sometimes you just want something simple, so we would go to the MDR because they have the classic options available.
As does Blu.

Just returned from Reflection. There was not a longer on balcony, so I asked cabin steward if he could get us one. He said he would have to call his supervisor. His supervisor approved and he brought us one.

We got on the Edge last fall in a MCSS that we had stayed in 2x previously. Other sailing there were 2 loungers last fall none. I asked them cabin attendant for 1, she said 1 or 2? We only wanted 1 as 2 made the balcony a bit crowded.
I didn’t think a thing about there not being.
On the Edge last month had 2 MCSSs and both had a lounge chair.
another thing on the Edge the only cabins that had loungers from the start were SV, MCSS and probably high end suites , have not stayed in a high end suite on E class.
Thank you. Who knows how messed up things got when the butlers were semi removed. Disagree about the Edge SV initially, check out the pix on the Edge thread above. Ask and you may get.😉

Poll for which type of venue is most popular (closes July 19)
in Celebrity Cruises
Posted
Same with Lumanae, this poll is flawed. I think I answered Specialty because there was no right answer for us.
