  1. I know this has been answered numerous times...but I can't get a definitive answer from anyone....including my NCL Cruise Consultant. If you don't have any helpful information to add, no need replying - no need to waste your time telling me that the question has been asked/answered numerous times, etc....

I'm looking for an answer from someone that has stayed in a 2-bedroom on the Getaway (or the Breakaway).

Does the bed in the smaller room open up to a full size bed?

I've seen responses from people that say yes (http://www.cruisecritic.com/memberreviews/memberreview.cfm?EntryID=226313), and I've seen no (http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2013492)- it just opens up to a single berth, and that there is a "bunk" type bed that opens from the ceiling. There are tons of conflicting information.

    My main questions:

    1. Does the smaller 2nd bedroom have a bed that fits 2 people?

    2. Does the bed in the living room open up for 2 people?

    3. Please share any pictures you may have of the 2-bedroom suite with beds opened up.

    Thanks in advance.

  2. I see some posts about 5 adults in the 2-bedroom with no problem (I think they were talking about the Epic and Dawn) -

Has anyone stayed in the 2-bedroom on the Breakaway or Getaway with 4 adults in a 2 bedroom? I hear mixed information...some say no problem, and some say there is no way 2 adults could share the small bedroom.

My Dad and Step-Mom are sharing our two-bedroom. They were originally going to book a non-suite of there own, but we wanted them to be able to share in the amenities, so we told them they could share our room, and they paid us a small amount towards our room.

They will be in the 2nd smaller room. I already warned them that the bed may be too small for them - and they said they didn't mind if one had to sleep on the couch in the living room...

FYI - they fit on a full size bed at my house with no problem...is the bed smaller than that in the 2nd bedroom?

It also looks like the bed is really low to the floor - any info you can give on the 2-bedroom on the Getaway or Breakaway would be great.

  3. It is a real 2 bedroom, 2 bedrooms with their own bathroom and closets. The master bedroom is large and luxurious and has an unbelievable bathroom. The second bedroom is like an inside cabin. The couch in the second bedroom opens up each night for 2 to sleep there. There is a pull down bed in that 2nd bedroom as well for your 3rd child.

The couch in the living room is used as a bed for the 6th sleeper. Its an amazing suite with terrific amenities.

Is it the same for the Getaway? I didn't know there was a pull down bed for a 3rd person in the small bedroom. I was thinking it was 2 in the Master, 2 in the 2nd bedroom and then 1 (or maybe 2) on the sofa in the living room area.

Either way works for us - but I was just wondering...and had no clue.

  4. I don't know though....it's still cheaper than the room usually goes for....and you get your own hot tub...it just looks so beautiful.

I'm the little devil on your shoulder telling you to DO IT!! LOL!!

You will have a wonderful time no matter what!!

  5. If you were offered the Haven on the NCL Dawn (over 6500 sq ft) for $5000 even (no taxes) upgrade price with 5 people would you do it? Almsst out of time and got the call today, can't decide, unless someone decided for me and already took it....I know it's gorgeous but that is a lot of extra money

If you can swing the extra $5000, then I say go for it.

I just priced it, and the approximate cost to book the Garden Villa for a family of 5 on the Dawn for the Bermuda 7 day cruise in May is 15K. (Some cruises it can cost up to 20-25K for that Villa)

So I guess it depends how much you already paid for your 2 bedroom suite.

Either way, if you can do it....it's a once in a life time thing....it's on my bucket list!

  6. We have always traveled NCL and stayed in the most expensive suites. The haven pool area is always populated with family's with children enjoying there vacation. We like the idea that NCL appears to recognize that some Haven customers like the ability to be isolated from kids. (Epic Posh Area)

What I do not like is now NCL is charging me extra on the Getaway for the Vibe beach Club on top of the already escalated Haven costs to be able to relax without kids.

It should be an automatic perk for the Haven guests.

I will be purchasing the Vibe Beach Club and Spa passes. I agree it should be included in the price for the Haven Suite....I was actually told by my cruise consultant that Vibe was included (when I initially booked over a year ago). I now know we have to pay extra.

  7. We were on the same cruise, and had an amazing time. Thanks to the Upsell Fairy we ended up in The Haven and enjoyed all the benefits there.

I have written a complete review and submitted it to Cruise Critic as a review of the Getaway (the short version: we loved it)!

Ehornick - I can't find your review. I'm very interested in reading it!!!

OP - I'm loving this review so far, and can't wait to read more.
