  1. I just got off of a B2B on the Breeze and cannot eat gluten. I emailed a letter beforehand to the maitre'd and received this reply:

    Hi Mrs. xxxxxx,

Thanks for letting me know about your table preference and your dietary needs.

Rest assured that both will be taken care of. When you come to the Restaurant for the first time, I will introduce you to one of my assistants that will personally take care of your food during your stay.

    Thank you and Regards,

Sr. Maître D’ Hotel - Carnival Breeze

    Carnival Cruise Lines

The first night of the cruise, not long after we had been seated in the Lower Blush dining room, the assistant maitre'd, Marketa, came over to our table, introduced herself and helped me with the menu for the next days' brunch (if we chose to go) and/or dinner menu selections. She continued that for the next 13 days and she was WONDERFUL and very knowledgeable regarding what could and what could not be specially made as gluten free or what was and what was not already gluten free. She always encouraged me to order two appetizers, and entree and desert which is way more food than I'd normally eat (!!), but I sure enjoyed it. I really noticed that there were way more g.f. choices aboard the Breeze...or maybe it's Carnival across the board, don't know - our last cruise was a year ago on the Liberty and while there were quite a few options, I found things had improved immensely this year on the Breeze. Also, they have changed the brand of bread that they serve on the main dining room and it is WAY better than what they served a year ago !

I also received a letter in my room on embarkation day stating that my gluten free request was acknowledged and it listed some g.f. options available to me:

Guy's Burgers - they have g.f. buns available

Pizza - you could request a g.f. crust

Italian restaurant - they had g.f. pasta available

Anyway, the entire experience was great and I ate wonderful food for two solid weeks !

  2. Ok, call me paranoid, but on our B2B's, I loosely tape the new luggage tags on to the tops of the suitcases, just in case, while we're gone to the "re-boarding area" a crew member accidentally moves them to the wrong place.

  3. We have never done an all inclusive, but what we really like about cruising is that you get a taste of the islands that you may (or may not) want to spend a week on. We have surprised ourselves on more than one occasion thinking that we were going to absolutely love a place and after spending a day there, decided we would never want to spend a week there, and vice versa.

Whatever you choose, have a great time !

  4. not sure why everyone even wants these........??? IMHO just another way for Carnival to hold your money.......and yes, I am a Diamond on Carnival......but all the changes they've made this last year.....I'm just "not a believer" anymore.....

I want them because they make a fantastic Xmas or birthday gift for people you know are going to cruise on or have already booked with Carnival. I also live in a remote place where shopping options consist of a small, old Walmart and basically not much else. Shopping online and e-cards are a way of life.

  5. I am wondering if I call Carnival will I be able to get some gift cards.....going to try and will let everyone know how it goes....

Ok, I'm back. Called 1-800-522-2600 and spoke with a lady in Colorado who was very helpful by emailing someone in Miami about this problem. She is currently awaiting a response back and will phone me when she finds out. In the meantime, I called 1-866-270-1064 which is the dedicated line for the gift cards. I spoke with a gentelman who was very aware of the problem of Canadians not being able to buy these gift cards online and to quote him "We are aware of this problem and the gift card offer is only available to people in the U.S. As of now, we are not working on changing the website to support any other areas."

Wow. I am NOT impressed at all.

  6. We have 8M aft balcony cabin 5299 booked on the Miracle for our cruise to Hawaii does anyone have any pictures? I've seached everywhere and can't find any.

I found some pics for you of cabin #5299 on the Pride (sister ship to the Miracle). Go to the website cruiselinerooms dot com and you will find them there.

  7. Oh my God!!! What ship was that??? I don't think I'd leave my balcony.

It was the Celebrity Summit and I've since found out that cabin is approx $5000 p.p. for a 7 night cruise. There is another hot tub inside the cabin and those stairs (white, square area) are for your private butler to use.

    Gasp.

This was our aft wrap cabin 5295 on the Miracle. Weird configuration, bedroom is not in separate area, but it was fine for the two of us. Best part was waking up facing the water in the morning !
