  1. I would also suggest waiting until you board to decide.  Depending on the sailing, the lines for specialty coffee at Cafe Promenade can make it not worth it.  I have gotten it for a couple different cruises, and decided not to get it anymore after having to wait almost 30 minutes in line for a cappucino.

This also makes it hard to actually get your moneys worth since you may decide it isn’t worth your time standing in line and only use it for one or two coffees.

As an fyi, I have also ordered cappucino at the bar when you walk into the Windjammer.  But it is the same story of waiting because there usually is only one or two people working the counter there.

  2. For that age I would definitely do Royal!  The ships are beautiful no soooo much for everyone.  I would suggest Freedom class ship or larger.  I have 3 kids who are now in the 20’s and they LOVE Royal ships.

Have fun whatever ship/line you choose!

  3. I find the cabins to be so dry so I pack a small personal humidifier.  Takes up very little space and sooo much better for my sinuses.

I know a lot of people love a suite, but actually would rather book an inside and take more cruises.  As an example, we are leaving on a 9 night Canada cruise this week and paid literally $1400 total for 2 people.  I have friends in the same sailing paying $5,000 for a junior suite.  Have to decide what it is worth to you.  No right or wrong.  We would rather take a few more vacations and spend less on each….without skimping.

  4. Thinking of adding this to our 9 night Liberty Cruise.  Wondering if you have to use one the first night?  I know it says you will need to make a reservation but the only time available is 5:30 which is early for us.  Will be able to switch that to another night once we board?

Also, do the price include gratuities?  I know it doesn’t include drinks.

    Thanks!

  5. Could probably be worth it for me if we didn’t have long port days.  But when the price of the drink package is more than I pad for my actual cruise I find it hard to justify for myself.  Now if we were sailing with my extended family, it would abbe worth it for them.  Really depends.  No right or wrong.

While it is written that way they are still allowing this to happen.  It is definitely in effect.

Good to know, but without it in writing they can always say we aren’t going to cover it.  Not sure it is worth taking that risk.  Wish they would state it clearly on their site.

Should you have to cancel because you test positive for covid Royal will refund your cruise fare.

Unfortunately, this looks like it was only for a month for sailings between April and May 2023.  I guess it is possible if Covid surges again, they could reinstate it but it sounds like it isn’t in effect at the present time.
