  1. Had a great day with Thenford Gray. We toured the island of St. Kitts last week and thoroughly enjoyed the day. We met at the Pier, got in an air conditioned van that sat about 15 people and followed his advertised itinerary. Thenford is very well spoken and very easy to understand. He is very articulate and professional. We stopped to have a picture taken with a local monkey which was fun. He has bottles of water if you get thirsty but there is no food so bring a snack. We found the people on St Kitts to be very friendly and the tour perfect. At the end he will drop you at a local beach and pick you up about 2 hours later to make the ships all aboard time. The island is beautiful.

  2. Things we did:

    1. Rent a car

    2. Drive to Orient Beach- stay for a couple of hours under an umbrella and swim in the amazing water

    3. Drive to Grand Case- walk the town a bit, eat at a LoLo (sp?), don't miss this! Fabulous food.

    4. Drive to Marigot- explore the town for a couple of hours, including the open air market shops and stores in town

5.Drive back to the port, turn in car and head back to the ship

It was one of the best days we have ever had in four cruises to the Caribbean.

Who did you rent a car from and how much was it? Sounds fun..

  3. 1) Blue Safari "Splash 3 Island" boat tour http://www.bluesafarisstmaarten.com/ Captain Fab was great! Doing "Anguilla Splash" next time.

    2) Orient Beach. Easy to get there by taxi.

    3) Bernard's Tours http://www.bernardstours.com/

    4) Maho Beach, when the planes are active

I went on their website and Blue Safari looks like fun. Were there bathroom facilities on the islands you visit? Where was lunch served?

  4. We did the ship tour Canopy and Gumbalimba Park which included the monkeys which was fantastic. We had many monkeys walking around us that came out of the trees when we arrived. The handlers where there the whole time and helped us with photos and coaxing the monkeys to sit on our shoulders .. There were 9 zip lines included and the beach is right there which we did not stay for but looked very nice. There is all a pool. We took a walk through the gardens. We had a tour guide the whole time we were there. This was our favorite excursion on the trip..:)

  5. We were just at Xunantunich last week and enjoyed this trip. We have not been to the other but Xunantunich was recommended to us because they have restored part of it and you can climb up on top of El Castillo about 300 feet up. The bus trip was 2 hours and bumpy but air-conditioned. The lunch that was part of Carnivals excursion was very good. The day was about 7 hours.

  6. I shot some video of our entire tour to Xunatunich, you can check it out here, from tender to the top of the big one. This should give a pretty good idea of how the trip goes:

I would definitely go with it! The ride does not seem that long at all and we did enjoy the food at the stop on the way back. Two quick things for the timid, lol, not to freak you out but look out for tarantulas. We only saw 2 and not sure if it is common or not. I took it as a bonus as they were really cool to see in the wild (they are not your pet store variety and pretty big!). Um, the other thing is, and I guess this is just me getting older, but when we got to the top of the big one I sort of had a panic attack, lol. Mainly because the tour guide kept standing right on the edge pointing things out to us. The view is amazing though and sorry I do not have too many shots in my video of the top! This is mainly due to the fact my pulse was about 170! Gosh getting old stinks! 10 or 20 years ago I would have ran up and down this thing! It took them about 10 minutes to baby me through getting down from the top! :)

But yes, I would definitely spend the time on the Xunantunich trip! As tsj said, the setting is beautiful!

Awesome video..Thank you for sharing.. You really climb high... Any wildlife there?
