As long as you are happy that is what matters.  You'll have access to the nice relaxing breakfast in Sabatini's every day and Club Class dining with no waits for lunch and dinner.  If you just want to relax in your cabin and not go to a dining room, you can order off the MDR menu through room service.  Don't know if you are Elite but if you're not, you'll have same day laundry included which I would imagine you'll take advantage of quite a bit over a 49 day cruise.  You'll be right by the Concierge lounge where you can get coffee drinks from the machine any time you want.  And have lots of extra room in the cabin to enjoy since I doubt you'll always be out and about around the ship when you're on board for such a long period.  Some may think that it's not worth it but to me it would be.

Thanks for all the information on what’s included. We are Elite but this is the first time in a Suite.

  2. Ok your going to think we have lost our minds. And we have!!

Here are the details we had a mini C429 it’s a great mini with the larger balcony and we love the cabin have cruise in it a few time.

So we were offer an up sell to R612 Penthouse Suite for $3495.00 pp it’s a 49 day cruise on the Royal Princess. We booked the day it open with a TA. Princess  offer $1,000.00 OBC plus free gratuity our TA does discount the cruise fare.  So in total we have $1,800.00 OBC. So for what we payed then the up sell we took the offer. We thought for 49 days a larger cabin would be nice!

This maybe to much information but as I always see people that took the upsell I always would have like a little bit of information on what they we’re offered.

    We are happy😄

I get dry skin if I'm in an air conditioned environment nonstop no matter where I am, and this is true of a cruise ship.  I also notice my face gets irritated on cruises, and I think this is because it's being exposed to sun and salt air more (sensitive skin).

I take Dermacol make-up with me that matches my skin tone, a small size Gold Bond lotion, and a travel size Aquaphor for my lips.

I'll mix the Gold Bond and a little Aquaphor together after I shower, and it makes my skin soft and supple.  I mix the Dermacol with my normal moisturizer, add a little Gold Bond to it, and smooth it into my face and neck.  In the mornings I'll add my sunscreen to the mix.  Dermacol is fantastic for evening out the skin tone.  It's really amazing.

I have lots of medium fine hair, so I avoid conditioning it too often.  I take a travel size of hair gel with the highest number of "hold" on the tube, like a 5.  Applied to my wet hair on top (I have short hair with #5 clippers used on the sides and back), I style it, let it dry, and then brush it.  I've given up using hair dryers on cruises:  with medium fine hair I end up with overblown hair all the time.  Just the leave-in gel lets me style it.

What’s the name of the hair gel you use?

  4. When we did our Visa for SA it was good for 10 years it will expire in 2021. Are they still honoring these? Or do we now need to get the new E-Visa? I see everyone from our roll call is getting the new E-Visa. I know this may be a dumb question I just want to be sure. I have been all over the .gov web site and can’t find the answer.

Thanks, for any information in advance.

  5. Thanks, everyone. And yes I have been researching. I have two that I am going to go to for consultation. They both came highly recommended. Now the thing is when to do it.

Come back and let’s us know how the consultation went.

    I’m still researching.

  6. I booked the Hyatt today for January 31 for two nights.

ValueTrips is not yet available for our dates. So my question is when it becomes available can I book threw ValueTrips and keep my Hyatt booking and see if I get the Valuetrips rate then cancel our Hyatt booking? Or do I first need to cancel Hyatt booking then try ValueTrips?

Thanks, for any information anyone can give us.[/quote

Here is a link for the best price guarantee...maybe you can get the info you need here. Good luck. https://www.hyatt.com/info/best-rate-guarantee

Thank you for the link lots of good information.

See my post above. Hyatt won't honour their best rate guarantee for Valuetrips. I attached the response I got from Hyatt when I tried to do this last week. I ended up cancelling my Hyatt reservation and submitting through valuetrips and now waiting for a response from them.

Thank you for the information very helpful.

  9. Anyone know if Princess allows small electric fans (8"-10") in cabins? Haven't seen any info on this. Thanks in advance.

I always take one and have never had any problems.

  10. I think you would because you'd be changing promotions. With your promotion, you should've gotten free gratuities included for that particular cruise along with the $1,000 OBC. Watch pricing once the Sip n' Sail is out and compare the new pricing with the free drinks vs. the free gratuities & $1,000 OBC and the old pricing.

The free gratuities is a valuable perk IMO but if pricing is the same, it depends on whether you will drink more than the daily gratuity, which is probably somewhat easy to do - could be just 2 alcoholic drinks a day and you'd be getting more cluck for your buck. :D

    Thanks, for the information!

Yes, we did get free gratuities plus we ending up with $1.600.00 OBC. So not sure the Sip and Sail will work for us this time. We had it last year on the Royal TA which was very nice. Will wait and see what happen!

  11. We booked the 49 days as the full cruise.

We wanted to book as two but the cabin we wanted Princess would not let us book as two. So our TA held that cabin then booked two other cabins. Then when she called us she asked did you see all the on board credit you have if you stay with the 49 day booking I looked and could not believe what I was seeing. We do have stock and military but what princess was adding to the 49 days booking was $1,600.

Also if your using FCC and the cruise is over 45 days they don't give you the OBC Princess gives you a 3% discount. And we use a TA so she also gives a discount.

The sad part is I know if you book as two one price goes down you get the adjustment. The 16 days from Santiago to LA that price always goes down.

So I guss we will stay with our 49 days for all the OBC and to get to keep our cabin we wanted. We have 72 days in the cabin from the last two years and love the location.

    Hope this information helps.
