Thanks for the review. Glad to see you enjoyed the ship. I leave tomorrow early am for the TA and first cruise out of NO.
Nonna I leave Monday morning. I haven't seen you post on the roll call much and was wondering if you were still going. I'll be at the hotel Barcelona for three nights.

I will be having Gastric Bypass Surgery about 5 months before I set sail on my next cruise - and I am just wondering if anyone else has had a surgery like that and then travelled on a Carnival Ship. How did you in the MDR? Did you ask for a special menu?
I did it after five weeks out. I just ate light. Now I'm 1 1/2 yrs out and lost from 325 down to 164. I cruise 3 times a yr and lose about 3 pounds on the cruise. I get to eat food that is better for me then what everyone at home eats.

I always park at the pier. I have used fulton street when their wasn't parking at the pier and it was fine. If this other place is 15 dollars a day why not just park at the pier and not fool with the shuttle. I guess it would be OK if you have a high dollar car. I don't and my car sits in the hot sun everyday in AL anyway. Now for a week I might use the 8 dollars aday on the roof top. That might be worth it. I do love getting off the ship first and car being right their.

I stayed in a 1A a few times. I like them but don't get a upgrade. I don't think I would take one if offered. I get them on Fantasy class ship and stay on empress deck. If they give me a 4 a it would be on a lower deck. I try to get a porthole cabin. In a 1A you will have bunks and make the room feel bigger

Not worth it to us since we drink Fosters Beer. At $6.75 a can we would have to drink 7 Fosters a day each which is about 14 regular beers a day for each of us. (Fosters beer cans are 25 ounces where a regular can of beer is 12 ounces).
We would both have to buy the package and no way could I see us consuming 28 beers together a day on a cruise.
I would like to remember my cruise.
This is the best deal on the ship for a beer drinker.I don't drink anymore, but it would be hard for me to spend almost 700 dollars on drinks for a 7 day cruise. On port days I would do most of my drinking in port and have a few on the ship. I guess if you don't cruise three times a yr like I do it would work.I would take that 700 dollars and go on a cruise.I use to gamble a lot also. I would lose five hundred dollars in a few hrs and say to my self,I could of went on a 5 night cruise for that.I think it depends on how much you cruise and how much cash you have.

I e-mailed Joe P a e-mail today with no reply as of yet,so good luck. As for the Residence Inn it is a nice place. You can't get the Gov. rate and free parking too. I have 6 in my group and had a hard time getting a good deal. Yesterday I booked the country Inn. You might want to get the gov. rate and just park at the 4.99 lot.

I took the train from B'ham AL last month to New Orleans. The seats are like the ones in first class airlines. There is a plug in at each row if you need to plug in something. I enjoyed the ride but my wife didn't. She smokes and there wasn't any smoke stops on our trip.

You can go to the 2nd floor river front mall to get to the ship. I have done it 3 times and I'm in my late 50's

When my son got one it came with a backpack to carry it. I haven't seen the backpack offer again. That was in 2006
