  1. There has been some incorrect information posted. Specifically concerning the drink package. I'll try to clear it up.

If you select the drink package as a perk then both parties in the room have to take that(unless one is a minor). If you purchase it separately then only one person has to take it, but you're not supposed to share it.

    Yep - bad information.

Both parties in the same cabin must purchase the drink package. Check the web site. That previous poster is incorrect!

This is the 3rd time I've seen this posted in this thread. I don't know who started this rumor, but UNLESS you are getting the drink package as a perk... both people in the cabin DO NOT have to BOTH buy the package!! I get it for my wife.. and I don't drink at all. I sell MANY MANY of these cruises everyday.. and have never seen this.. Poss you are thinking of Carnival Cruise Line??

  2. The Lawn Club and Grill is my favorite specialty dining. I usually wait till I'm on the ship to get a discount. You can make your own flatbread (fun) and even cook your own steak (didn't do that). Save room for dessert - especially the warm chocolate chip cookie!!!!

Thanks Monica, I'm going with friends for my birthday in April.;)

  3. Hopefully our paths cross again on the seas again Kevin. I had so much fun with that cruise with you guys. So trips our superb, and certainly the TA we had was one of them.

I'm guessing Reflection will be too, as they really pulled out the stops on the design of this boat as it has all the bells and whistles. Still exploring, but love what I've seen so far.

Glad you are enjoying the Reflection. If you get a chance.. let me know what you like better than the Silhouette(my fav so far). Reflection is the only "S" class that I haven't been on.

  4. I look forward to meeting you both on board

Arrived this morning and to Rome and just arrived at the hotel San Giorgio for a day of relaxation prior to the cruise. what a beautiful mid 70-ish day. it looks like we'll have a great crew on board as well as I remember meeting the captain on the equinox turn the holy land tour in 2010 and he's a very bright articulate funny man.

you'll find the upgrade to the sky suite is worth it, take advantage of the Michael's club concierge as she could really work wonders to make a very good cruise and do a very great cruise. hopefully I'll see you around I'll be the guy with the Pepsi, sitting up in the alcove.

John... Just saw this thread. Wanted to jump in here and wish you a fun voyage. We met on the Silhouette T.A. a few years back. You are Still my idol...lol:D

Adrienne and I will be boarding the Freedom of the Seas - a week from today.

If you are still following - Heidi works at the Pool Bar on sea days and also at the On Air Bar at night after the CL closes. She is very good. Had the Chocolate Martini and Espresso Martini, they are to die for. Wish she was here now to make a few.....

Thanks... I will copy this... and look (and say "hi"):D

  6. We were on the Freedom last week of July and it was a ghost town as far as C&A members were concerned. I know there were four pinnacles and very few D+. We attended the breakfast with an officer and there were, drum roll, EIGHT people in total. All the officers got a pass that day except for Tyrone, the HR officer. The top tier event was crazy. More servers than attendee's. The CL was totally empty most evenings. Just us two chickens and Rahul!

Loved your review and pictures! I will miss the Freedom in PC.

Sorry to butt in. John, I have been following you all week. GREAT review, love the pictures;). Can anyone tell me if I am able to use the CL. We are Diamond, but just in a J.S.

    Ahoy lovetocruisee

Nov 4th will prove to be an interesting day/night at Port Canaveral.

The Majesty returns to Port Canaveral on Friday, Nov 4th.......Leaving at 4pm that day.

The Oasis takes her last sailing on Oct 29th from Fort Lauderdale for 6 nights returning on Nov 4th.

Supposedly, the Oasis will also be making her way to Port Canaveral on Nov 4th for her first sailing on Sat, Nov 5th........

Port Canaveral cruise line ship schedule is not showing Novembers, 2016 ship schedule.

Hopefully, someone will have more information as to the arrival of the Oasis and to which terminal the Freedom and the Majesty will return to...

We will be watching the Port Canaveral webcam on Nov 4th.... as well as eating at Fishlips and watching the ships sail away around dinner time.

I have fairly "new" newbys with me on that cruise. I hope it's not a fiasco.. :(

  8. My plan for boarding is to drop the bags off around 11AM and then head back to condo. Our son will then pick us up at 12:30 and we hope to be onboar around 1:00 or so.

    John,

Sorry to interrupt your thread. I followed some of your posting on another thread.. I will be sailing on the last Freedom cruise out of Pt. Canaveral. You mentioned that I may not dock at the same terminal when we return Nov 4th, due to the Majesty be in port. If you find out anything about that -- I am following this thread with you... Thanks :D

I like this site if this computer challenged user can learn to navigate it a bit better.

    Could use a little help!

Traveled on the Infinity sister ship (I think) in 2010 and loved the Aqua Spa, Does the Constellation (Sailing 12/12/15) have the same or similar and is it still adults only?

Also: Does it carry NA Beer? Hopefully NOT O'Doules. (Updated needs for this cruise :)

    Thanks for any feedback.

    2015 Celebrity Constellation 5 day Dec 12 W Carib

    HOPE

W Med if the air fare is reasonable & region doesn't scare the Mrs. away!

Just got off the Constellation 11/23. It's funny, I was introduced to Buckler - N/A beer on my first Celebrity cruise on the Infinity (2002~Alaska). It is all I can stand to drink at home now.

I couldn't find it ANYWHERE/ at any bar, on the Connie. I asked every bar and was Always told the same line..."it won't be stocked until tomorrow". It never came. I didn't pursue it any further because it was only a 4 day cruise. On a Equinox transatlantic cruise, I asked the F&B mgr. He made sure it was stocked at least one bar throughout the cruise.

Ask the F&B mar early in your cruise. Buckler is "Heineken" with the alcohol removed. Have a good cruise :)....

  10. Hello folks, haven't been on CC for a while since I had no cruise planned, although I was thinking about Epic out of FL in February. I see this was discussed earlier but I'm just wondering if anyone knows. I live in NY, and am actually volunteering Super Bowl Weekend on Friday night at a NYC hotel so I need to be home for that. We were actually planning on flying to Southeast Florida right after the Super Bowl. NOW they announce Getaway as the official Bud Light Super Bowl ship and I saw this two day cruise for $99 to Nassau...if that ship had been going right to Miami I'd already be booked! We called NCL and they said the February 5-8 is a private charter from Nassau to Miami before the inaugural. Anyone know who has that charter? I'm currently investigating cheap ways to get from Nassau to Miami or Fort Lauderdale....boy that airfare is high for an hour flight!

I see there are a lot of excited people on here. I am sorry to jump in here, but if reference to the question of a few "chartered" / missing sailing dates..

I will be on one of the Travel agent cruises on the Getaway. There is a 2 nighter in NYC and a one nighter in Miami (Feb 7 to 8th). This might help to see why there are empty sail dates.. Hope that helps a little.

  11. Both of his grandfathers were Captains as well, Had the opportunity to share dinner with him this past week, one of the more fascinating Masters I've met. Been in the family business (the sea) for about 18 years. Bright, articulate, funny, and speaks a handful of languages.

    John,

This is Kevin from your Silhouette T.A.. How do you DO it?? As I told you... you amaze me! How do you get to know all the people you know? You must be doing something right. :D LOL.. Good for you. You are one of my heros. Safe travels..

    Kevin

  12. Larry & I were on that sailing from Southampton. And no doubt we met at the Martini Bar. What is your wife's name? I look forward to meeting up with you again.

    David

David.. Her name is Adrienne.... :D and please.. don't say the

'ol "Yo......". LOL.. I'm sure we will run into each other at the martini bar,, sooner or later. It is getting c l o s e r

  13. I'm disappointed that we don't have a roll call for this trip. Someone had promosed to put one together quite some time ago, but didn't follow through. I guess it's too late to start one now.

    David

    David and Larry,

Just wanted to pop over here, to ask you if we met on a prior cruise? My wife and I were on the Eclipse TA, 31oct10. I think we met at the martini bar? That was a GREAT trip. This will be our 4th TA, so I guess we love them. There are so many repeat cruisers on these TA's. I am bringing 2 ~ "newbie" TA cruisers, so I am hoping they enjoy it too. This is going to be ONE BIG group!!

  14. I've done a bit of work with the Navy over the years, and am always curious, the structure of the crew as well as the physical elements of the ship, so I do find myself asking a lot of questions. Last cruise I ended spending three hours one morning having coffee with the environmental officer and learning about his work onboard. I also have gotten to know quite a few hotel directors over the years, as I always ask them who would be best to answer my questions, and fascinated about their multi-pupose work.

Been fortunate that the last 6 or 7 cruises been invited to dine with the Captain on each as well, and always interested to learn their backgrounds, some are funny, some stiff, but just about all love to share experiences. It was funny last cruise the Captain gave me all the details on his cabin, how often his family in onboard and his yearly schedule.

No magic formula I don't think other than being interested in their work, and the hurdles they face, and the commonality we all share

    John,

You are a wealth of infomation.;) I really hope to meet you on our upcoming T.A. ... we'll see, you are a busy man:D

    Kevin

  15. Thank you all for wonderfully quick responses! I read the info about the balcony on the "spreadsheet" on this website and the picture on the home page about unusual balconies, called the tunnel. I thought all the S-class ships are the same. I feel a whole lot better about that cabin. Everyone have a nice Sunday.

Just love this helpful website and nice people!

I think I know where that all started. There is a picture floating around.. of a 1A balcony. The picture was taken by someone with a "fish-eye" lens!

Ever since that picture... everyone is concerned about "the tunnel"!

I wish that picture had never been posted... (Oh WAIT- I'm in a 1A on an upcoming T.A. and try to get them) Maybe I should be GLAD that picture was posted.. LOL

    Kevin

  16. OK, I have posted a link below to the updated spreadsheet, in GoogleDocs.

Please let me know if you cannot open this as I am experimenting with an easier way to post and update (I hope). You should not need a Google account.

Any other feedback would be appreciated.

    S Class Cabin Spreadsheet 6-23-2012

Please note that I have added a column for ship name. PLEASE remember to include this information when posting your cabin report.

    Sandi,

I just downloaded it to a pdf. I'm not on google either!! So far, so good!!;)

Thank you for all your hard work!! I use this a lot.

  17. We have Cabin 2105 booked next July to the Mediteranean. Excited by the itinerary, ship, cabin, everything.

Looking at all the published deck plans, Cabin 2105 appears to not only have a bigger balcony, but also a bigger cabin. If the inside of the cabin is as it appears, cabin 2105 should have another 3 or so feet of length compared to other C2 cabins.

Can anyone comment or verify? Any additional photos would be great.

    Thanks.

    SRQcruiser,

I will be in that cabin (2105) in 29 days...:) No, 2105 is the exact size as every other CC cabin.. You can not go by the diagram on the Celebrity site! It is the balconey that is deeper - not the room itself. 2107 is slightly deeper. if you want a diagram.. I can send it to you.

    Kevin

  18. :)

After watching the available rooms the past week, saw 2105 open up on the Eclispe. We had 2112 (along with 2102 and 2104), so we changed rooms.

Is 2105 really a lot better than 2112? Is it worth going accross the hall rather than a few doors down of the rest of our group?

    Thanks!

oh lovetocruisee, we are probably going to be in 2105 a short 3 days after your TA, keep it in good shape for us please

    Cardinals,

I think it is a personal choice, as to if it's better to "go across the hall". FYI.. cabin 2102 & 2104 are "standard" size balconies! 2105 & 2106 are LARGEST balconies with 2107 & 2108 MID-sized. They alternate .. so 2112 would be a MID-sized balcony. I like 2105 because... it is the FIRST cabin on the aft facing hump. Nobody has realized that it has a portion of the railing on the FLAT hump (for easy forward viewing) and then the angle to the rear! Shhh...:D it's a secret! lol. I even have pictures of it, from a fellow CC'er.:) If you would like to see them send me a email... KAG at aol with a dot com.
