We took Uber XL for extra luggage room and it cost us $45. LAX has recently changed UBER/LYFT pickup and it can be confusing. The driver had (three weeks ago) said it was not worth the hassle to him for pick up at the airport. On our return (4 days ago) driver said it had gotten better. Be sure and check prices for both of these folks before booking-I found an almost $10 difference on outbound trip and used same guy for return.
Interesting. Thanks!

Cabs could be $65 or more ... i think we paid $35ish for Lyft
Great to know. Thank you.

Great. Thank you! I'm sure it's cheaper than a cab or Uber within the LA area.

How much is the princess transfer from LAX to the cruise terminal?

Maybe they should let women work on it!
Just adding some levity to the thread -- don't go nuts responding.
LoL!!! Love it!!!!

Have you tried deleting the app then restore it. Your phone may not have enough memory try deleting some apps you don't use too much. I had problems with my delta app after deleting some apps it worked.
Thank you for the suggestion. Yes I have. Earth tech savvy as I am this is beyond the normal regular troubleshooting resolutions. I think looted it needs to completely wipe my entire account / profile. And let me start from scratch. It's an internal thing.

Thanks! Nah, I'm totally cool, calm and collected. Had 12 smooth OM sailings, now I'm no longer in existence (literally.... Within the app).

Update on my non linking bookings to the medallion app, causing me not able to getting ocean ready.
Well after 6 weeks, there still has been no resolution to why my bookings don't link to the glitchy app. I called ocean navigators several times each week. They've all said my problem is a first for them.
8 tickets with multiple issues with my account even from customer relations. IT has not opened any of them.
I've given up on the app. Will bug the navigators after my Thanksgiving cruise. As the bookings that don't link start in December.
They should have never rolled this all out as quick as they did. I don't think there is enough man power to iron out the kinks. Thank goodness the old school way won't fail me. Go to the pier and gave them throw my medallions at me at check in.

Does anyone know which of the dining rooms are Anytime and which are Traditional?
Traditional is Cielo. Estrella has both traditional and anytime. And third dinning room on deck 5 is anytime.

We found the Princess shops a bit disappointing. We bought our usual fridge magnets but Chris thought the inaugural season T-shirts were rather dull and boring. They have tons of merchandise though.
A small selection:
They also had one end of the shop set up with Christmas baubles and bags!

I've been saying this for a long time. Princess is a pretty classy line you would think they would have higher end merchandise to sell. I think they would sell pretty well in my opinion.

That new chocolate Journeys chocolate mocha looks absolutely amazing. I'm excited that they added some new dessert items. After watching a few videos on the sanctuary it looked like not the best well sun protected area, as I'm not much of a sun worshipper myself but like to lounge once in awhile.
the afternoon tea and sanctuary does look lovely as always. It is quite a nice experience to have tea time in the sanctuary compared to in the main dining room or the Royal high tea time or on your balcony. Gotta love all the options.
I can't truly thank you enough for your wonderful blogging you're doing. But I do hope you are both having a fantastic time on your cruise.

On the patter I noticed where the dining options are for Sur la Mer, they have like coffee and pastries and a brunch besides dinner. Is there a fee for the coffee and pastries and brunch? I'd be very surprised if it's complementary.

I see they now have a stir fry station up at the lido deck buffet. For breakfast I'm just curious to know if it's like the world fresh market place like it is on the Caribbean Princess where in the morning you can create your own omelette by throwing all your stuff in a cup and then they make it. Or is it the same old where you fill out a paper form checking off what you would like.
-
Could you take a quick picture of the gelato and the international cafe cases. I'm curious to know if it's the same old offerings or if there's anything new and exciting in there.

You're photos are fantastic!!!! Thank you Sandra and Chris for taking the time to share with all of us

I'm genuinely and naturally just a very grateful cruiser. I can go on the same ship same itinerary week after week and I'm still always excited with the biggest smile on my face knowing I'm on a cruise. I guess you can call cruise happy. 😊

I think it's more of the excitement of being able to get that little glimps of something new. I personally always believe once you do get on board a new ship after viewing threads, or videos, and pictures, you still get that awe-inspiring feeling once onboard. Viewing through your screens versus reality are two different things. The match of excitement is always there for me both ways 🙂

Yes, I hope that menu carries over to the Caribbean season!
Fingers crossed for you and me both. but I will say that the menus that I've had on my European sailings are always the same as in the Caribbean. I'm more bothered with the fact I'm going on the Regal in a month's time and I'm spoiling myself looking at all the sky menus for my upcoming December cruises.

Thanks for all of the information and pictures, dides.
Different format for Patters and the Hamburger of the day appears removed from Favorites on dinner menu. That was a secret to many. It is a very high quality burger that is served in different formats every evening in the MDR. Often ordered it a perfect Medium Rare on nights that I wasn’t that hungry.
Thanks also for the current movies. I appreciate that information.
And, I hope Carlos Oscar is still the Comedian when The Sky gets to Florida. We enjoy him.
Safe Journeys, Paul
Totally noticed the missing burgers on the menu. I thoroughly enjoyed the Ernesto Burger especially when it was free in the dining room.

I read a post on another site that suggested you make reservations for the shows. I have seen this on large ships on another line but have not experienced this on Princess. Are they doing reservations for the production shows on the Sky?
the beauty of Princess compared to a majority of the other lines is you never have to make reservations for shows. Thank goodness. in my opinion with having to actually create a schedule in a plan while on vacation is not much of a vacation.

Hey Nancy, yes outside dining was quite busy for Alfredos on embarkation day so we didn't want to disturb everyone. Didn't like the chairs though - not that roomy so we sat inside
Will try and get a better pic when it's less busy. The poor staff have to walk the length of the restaurant from the ovens to get to the door though.

One of the downfalls of this al fresco dining is there's no shade from the sun. I remember sitting out along that deck on the Regal and during the day it gets to be very hot out when it's in the Caribbean season.

Would love to see the dinner menus nightly if possible. 😊

Pictures of the main dining room midship and the one aft. curious to know if they've updated the look at all from the Royal or Regal. Especially the Lumineer table. Thanks.

Thanks! Lucky for me my flight arrives around 8:15am in the morning. Plenty of time given to deal with any traffic that may occur.
