  1. Ok, thanks. We're on 2 short cruises, 5 and 6 nights, with stops in Mexico, which we have coverage for with T Mobile.  We're Diamond, so each have 1 free day of internet.  We'll still have the gratuities to pay so all OBC will be utilized.  😞

  2. It will be our 1st time on RCL in February, longtime Celebrity cruisers.

I don't see the basic Voom as an option to purchase, just the Voom/Surf.  We don't need to stream, just email and check on our flight prior to disembarking.  Do we have to call or wait until onboard?  The Voom/Surf package is 25% off now.

    TIA

Hi, we will be in Palma in Monday October 24 from 11-7. There will be 4 ships in port that day and depending on how full they are could be 12,000+ passangers. I have seen you say there is plenty to do staying in Palma but with that many ships in will it be too crowded? What would you suggest for those hours staying in Palma?

we'll be in port that day as well, on the Celebrity Constellation!

  4. We're also cruising into Tampa, Nov 6 after having left the US on Oct 7 so we'll be anxious to get home.  Is a 2PM flight appropriate with the ship arriving at 5AM?  We're in Seattle so it will be a 9 hour flight home 😞  , just like crossing the Atlantic!

We'll probably use Uber/Lyft to get to the airport?

Dumb question.  What's so special about Peloton bikes, compared to your ordinary fitness center bike?  Do Pelotons provide more resistance, better exercise?  I sure get they are popular, just never been sure why.

It's not the bike but the video interface. It's like a spin class where the instructor is right there with you, encouraging you to do your best and push yourself. The classes I like most are interval training, getting my heart rate up for 3 minutes or so and then resting for 2 or 3 minutes.  Some are called "intervals and arms" where the class bikes for a song, 3 minutes or so, then stops pedaling and uses the 2 lb weights that are on the back of the bike to do arm/back exercises while the heart rate comes down, then back to biking, repeat 3 times in a 30 minute class.  There are thousands of classes to choose from on demand so one can pick their favorite, inspiring instructor and their favorite music, almost like dancing to the music.  I used to use the bike some at the gym pre Covid.  I just sat there and rode for my  30 minutes watching tv, relatively boring and not uplifting.  I am uplifted by riding to the beat of the music that I enjoy and pushed to keep up with the instructor as I'm not as fit as others.  My current favorite is a class from 11/29, an 80's pop ride with Guns and Roses, AC/DC, Prince, and others.  I do have the bike + which automatically changes tension along with the instructor.  Biking gets my heart rate up more than walking, though I really enjoy walking on the ship as well.

  6. We were on the Millenium Nov 10-25.  As a Peloton owner, I was ecstatic to see there were bikes for anyone to use, no fee.  Being in the front and top deck of the ship, there was a bit of movement while on the bike, and I quit the 30 minute ride early as I was getting nauseous.  There were 3 bikes and while I was there, only 1 other person used a bike.  I look forward to using them again in calmer water on future cruises.  Anyone can sign up for a free guest account on the bike.  I highly recommend Ally Love as an instructor.  She uses a variety of music, so pick your favorite.

    Yikes! Certainly is a difference!

yes.  Unfortunately in addition to the heat, forecast of high 90's today, we now have smoke from BC, Canada, so the gondola is closed.  Thankfully we bought a window A/C a few weeks ago, so the house we hope will stay below 80 degrees.

This is definitely Mt Rainier—-the pilot announced it and if you google “Mt Rainier from a plane”  almost identical pics show up.

Sorry, I should have been more specific.  Yes, it is Mt Rainier, but with the loss of snow, it doesn't look like the iconic photos of it.  Here's a photo from last October.  We're taking the gondola to the ski resort on Friday.  The temps here in Seattle are forecasted to be mid to high 90's, so it's a way to escape the heat for the day.  https://www.crystalmountainresort.com/

Final photos. The dark one was before we arrived in Seattle. Taken at 1:05 AM this morning. The second is after we docked at Pier 91. The last two were taken flying back to Las Vegas.

😞  The mountain has lost all the snow due to the 100+ temps a few weeks ago.  It doesn't look like Mt Rainier.

We have always ordered substitutes…years ago it was no problem to get a plate of shrimp every night.  The last few years the steward has mixed it up with different types of cheese plates and shrimp, stating it was difficult to get shrimp every night.  We were still very happy.

awesome!  I'm originally from WI and so love any cheese!  Plus, I find cheese to be so unique to each country we visit.  Wondering, do they have gluten free crackers?  We enjoy wine, so this will be awesome!

I have read multiple times that people request a substitution such as a cheese plate.  The request is made to the stateroom attendant (what's been noted by others).   I'm sure you can also make any food allergies known.

I never have, I usually eat what I like and leave what I don't or swap items with my mom & dad next door. 😉   Having something delivered that you like and not wasted is a good idea though.

    🍹

Thanks.  DH is picky and doesn't eat stuff he doesn't know.  Shrimp and cheese are a "yes"!

Glad to see daily water is back in AQ Class...it was recently reduced to a welcome bottle.  Even with the classic drinks that includes water..nicer to have it delivered daily.

The tea was never that good..we asked not to receive it, but did like the canapes..esp if we could request cheese, fruit,  shrimp or other substitutes

What type of shampoos, soaps and gels are now in AQ class.?  Loved the CO Bigelow..we use that at home.

I didn't know you could request substitutes for canapes?  How?
    Thanks

My DH gets military veteran obc, up to $250, depending on cruise length.

My DH does as well, served in 1980s.  He ordered a veterans id card so he doesn't have to carry his original paperwork.  I know some say he doesn't need it, but our TA has said otherwise, so a card will work.

Also on our last cruise a 26 nighter way back in Dec 2019... stop at ports   we would buy a couple of bottles of wines and come back to the ship in the morning, they would put the bag through the x-ray, they would not say anything and walk past the the "booze table"which was unmanned most times.... it is was just smile and say hello..

What will happen in the future.... no idea..... one thought is they will be looking for every bit of income..

    Don

We brought 8 bottles back onboard in Barcelona as we were on a B2B and had been wine tasting all day, Priorat region.  It was late, 6pm? , no one to check our backpacks.  We had kept the stickers from when we paid corkage at other ports, and the next week at sea we brought wine to dinner with a sticker on it, then I'd remove it and put it in my purse for the next night.  The wine was yummy and much less expensive than onboard so we were prepared to pay corkage.  DH has learned that if the port has the xray on land, part of the port, they won't check for wine, but if the xray is on the ship, be prepared to pay corkage for wine brought aboard.

We've brought port from WA before and no one questioned us, but that was Celebrity.

I see at least one event is already full and this is probably before a majority of passengers even know it existed.

I wonder how many Princess staff members it will take at all the events to make sure that all who signed up for an event can enter before those who did not sign up in advance. Not easy to do for an event such as MUTS.

not a newbie, but what is "MUTS"  ?

If you're using an iPhone, I highly recommend the Apple AirPods Pro. They connect to multiple devices quite well and have excellent noise cancellation.  They're EarPods so they go in your ear, some people don't like that type of headphone but they are comfortable for me.

I bought some today but I wouldn't say they're noise cancelling.  I can hear myself typing on the computer.  😞
